(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Shufen Sentenced to Two Years in Prison; Ms. Kong Fanqin Tried in Court

Ms. Sun Shufen from the Jishu Sub-district was tried in the Shulan City Court on September 6, 2022. She was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 2000 yuan.

Ms. Kong Fanqin was tried in the Shulan City Court in mid-November 2022.

2. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Six Practitioners Persecuted in a Brainwashing Center

A brainwashing center was held from November 9 to 22 by the No. 3 Street Sub-district. Ms. Li Fengjuan was taken there but was able to go home later that day. Cheng Baoqui from the Fateyanggong Village, 72, was detained there for five days. Xu Zhongyou and his wife were detained for 13 days. Guo Xiumei was able to go home on the same day. Jiang Zaifeng was also taken there. Lian Shufang was not at home when police officers and local government officials went to her home and attempted to take her to the brainwashing center.

3. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] 16 Practitioners Sentenced by the Qindu District Court

Sixteen practitioners were tried and sentenced in the Qindu District Court.

Mr. Ding Qiang was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, Mr. Liu Qiaomei was sentenced to six and a half years; Mr. Wang Yali was sentenced to two years and eight months. The verdicts against Gao Guirong and An Caifeng are unknown. These practitioners were sentenced around November 2020.

Mr. Zhang Peng was sentenced to nine years in prison. Wang Yuchao, Zang Jinda, and Ma Haipeng were sentenced from five to nine years in prison. They were sentenced by the Qindu District Court in June – August 2019.

Liu Huirong was sentenced to one year and nine months by judge Fu Qiang and prosecutor Yang Tao on August 26, 2019.

Ms. Ma Jinying was sentenced to four years in prison. Mr. Ma Minghai was sentenced to three years. The case against Ms. Lin Zhiqin was submitted to the court.

Ms. Xiao Chunhong and Jia Ye were sentenced to eight years in prison respectively in 2008.

Mr. Gao Shouhai, who is now deceased, was sentenced to eight years in prison on September 25, 2008.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Qiu Cuixiang Arrested

Ms. Qiu Guixiang was arrested in late September 2022.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Liang Yi Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Liang Yi from the Hongshan District was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on February 17, 2022. Liang refused to cooperate and was detained there for over nine months. Liang was released unconditionally on November 22, 2022.

6. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

The police ransacked Ms. Wang Guoxiu’s home in the Xiaohe District on the morning of October 7, 2022. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and two media players.

Six people, including three officers from the Huanghe Police Station, went to Ms. Jin Yunbi’s home on October 8, 2022 and ransacked it.

Ms. Zhang Changyun’s home was also ransacked on October 8, 2022.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Ms. Kong Qingping Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Kong Qingping was arrested by officers from the Lijia Street Police Station on October 22, 2022. The case against her was submitted to the Shahekou District Procuratorate on November 22, 2022. Ms. Long is currently detained in the Yaojia Detention Center. Her family members are not allowed to visit her.
