(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Wang Zhenggui, nearly 80, from the Heping District was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison to be executed outside prison and was fined 10,000 yuan by the Liaozhong Court in September 2022.
Wang’s home was ransacked by director Liu and six officers from the Xinhua Police Station after 8:00 p.m. on March 2, 2022. They said Wang distributed Falun Gong flyers. They seized Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, and an exercise music player.
Wang was taken to the Shenbei District Detention Center on March 4. After 20 days, Wang was transferred to the Heping Detention Center and was held there for six days. Wang was released at 8:00 p.m. on April 4, 2022.
Ms. Ying Aiyun of Wuyun Town was arrested on August 15, 2021, for printing Falun Gong messages on paper currency. She was sentenced to four years in prison. She is incarcerated in Lishui Prison.
Ms. Cheng Lianlian, Ms. Zhang Guiying, Ms. Lu Hongfang, and Ms. Wu Suhua were arrested by director Shi Chunlin, deputy director Jin Ning, and officers from the Baliwan Town Police Station at the end of July 2021, after someone reported them for distributing Falun Gong materials. They were taken to the Huanggang City Women’s Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang was released on bail for medical reasons at the end of June 2022. Ms. Wu was released in November 2022. Ms. Cheng and Ms. Lu have been detained for over a year. Their families are not allowed to visit them and do not hear any news about them.
Mr. Song Xuejun was arrested on September 30, 2022, and has been held in the Mishan City Detention Center. His home was ransacked. His Falun Gong books were confiscated. His case was sent to the procuratorate.
After Ms. Gu Xiuying, 87, from Hufangqiao in the Xicheng District distributed 2023 Minghui desk calendars, her home was ransacked on November 23, 2022. Officers and street clerks seized her Falun Gong books and other items.
Ms. Hong Xihua of Tangyuan Town, Pi County, has been repeatedly harassed for practicing Falun Gong by officers from the Tangchangzhen Police Station, agents from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, grid members, village committee members, and a female director. They tried to force her to sign the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. To escape the harassment, she left home and works out of town.
Ms. Lin Jianping, 60, was tried by the Qixia City Court at 2:00 p.m. on December 19, 2022.
She was arrested on February 6, 2022, when she talked to an officer about the persecution of Falun Gong in front of the Qixia City Police Department. The Muping Detention Center did not admit her because of her health. She was subjected to residential surveillance for six months.
The prosecutor charged her with “using a cult to undermine law enforcement” on October 21, 2022. The city court criminal division notified her of the charge on October 24.
Ms. Su Guiying was incarcerated for four years. Her pension was suspended after she was released. She sued the Mazhang District Social Security Bureau. The Zhanjiang Development Zone Court ruled it was ineligible for trial. She appealed to the Zhanjiang City Intermediate Court.
She recently received the intermediate decision. The court concluded her case was eligible and sent it back to the trial court for a new trial.
Ms. Kong Xiufang from Xituncun in Gaoling Town, the Muping District, and her husband were arrested at home by five officers from the Gaoling Police Station on December 9, 2022. She was released that night.
