(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Huang Guiqin, about 66, from Beitaitou Township, left home to avoid persecution. She was arrested in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, on October 14, 2022. She was brought back to Wei County by officers from the Beitaitou Township Police Station and held in custody. Her case has been turned over to the procuratorate.
Officer Xu Yongqiang from the Beitaitou Township Police Station and others went to Ms. Huang’s home to harass her on the afternoon of March 12, 2019. Ms. Huang was harassed again on the morning of November 19, 2019. She left home.
Officer Xu went to Ms. Huang’s home several times to threaten her family. Xu told her family that if Ms. Huang turned herself in, she would be detained for 10 days, otherwise, she would be sentenced to three years in prison.
The police issued an online warrant for her arrest. People who did not present any legal paperwork went to her home to harass her family. In the month after she became displaced, her family was harassed eight or nine times.
Mr. Cheng Wei and Ms. Li Yuchun were reported to the police for clarifying the facts about the persecution on July 24, 2022. They were arrested and their homes were ransacked by officers from the Bajiazi Police Station. They will be tried by the Lishan District Court at 9:20 a.m. on November 25, 2022. Ms. Li is being held in the Anshan City Women’s Detention Center. Mr. Cheng was released on bail on August 8. He has now left home.
Ms. Sun Lihua was sentenced to three years in prison on July 8, 2022.
Ms. Zhang Yunkun and Ms. Liu Suzhi were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on January 4, 2022. They were arrested and their homes were ransacked by officers from the Shuguang Police Station. They were tried by the Lishan District Court on August 10. Both practitioners were sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
Mr. Bai Xuesong and Ms. Shi Yanying were arrested and held in custody for one year and eight months. They were tried for the fourth time on September 16, 2022. Ms. Shi was sentenced to three years in prison and Mr. Bai to three and a half years in prison by the Lishan District Court on September 29. Ms. Shi appealed. Mr. Bai’s family appealed on his behalf to the intermediate court.
Jing Hui from Dean County was arrested by officers from the Dean County Police Department on August 16, 2022. In July, the officers confiscated Jing’s computer and cell phone. It was reported that Jing was held in the Jiujiang City Detention Center.
Officers from the county police department also arrested Li Pingyou and Li’s spouse. Lan Meihua and Lan’s spouse were released due to critical health conditions. The officers feared that the practitioners might die while they were held in the police department’s hospital.
Mr. Niu Zhanhua from Xiushuihezi Town, Faku County, was reported to the police while distributing desk calendars with Falun Gong content. He was arrested by officers from the Xiushuihezi Town Police Station that day and taken out of town and held in custody.
Ms. Song Wentao from Huancui District was arrested and taken to the Qiaotou Town Police Station while distributing truth-clarification desk calendars at the Qiaotou Town farmers market at 9 a.m. on November 20, 2022.
At the police station, Ms. Song refused to cooperate with the officers who made unreasonable demands and was handcuffed. Three officers restrained her and collected her blood samples.
Members of Huancui District 610 Office and domestic security officers held Ms. Song at the police station, searched her, and took the keys from her bag. They ransacked her home. Three officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a computer, printed materials, desk calendars, and Falun Gong keepsakes. Ms. Song returned home at 1:30 p.m.
Two practitioners talked to people about the persecution on November 12, 2022. A middle school student called the police, and the practitioners were taken by domestic security patrol officers to the nearby Xinhua Street Police Station, where they were interrogated.
The officers searched the practitioners’ homes and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and five handwritten copies of Zhuan Falun. The officers said that they would transfer the cases to the local police station and community.
Ms. Li Jing, Ms. Li Xianghong, and Mr. Zhang Tao were arrested by officers from the Qian County Police Department on September 30, 2022. They have been held in custody for over 50 days. They were officially placed under arrest and their cases were turned over to the Qian County Procuratorate. The two female practitioners were held in Liquan County Detention Center. Mr. Zhang was held in the Qian County Detention Center.
Mr. Tian Haitao, an employee at the Fujin Agricultural Bank, was fired from his job by his work unit after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. During “sensitive dates” when the CCP felt the pressure of public discontent, the local police would go to Mr. Tian’s home to harass or take him into custody. In order not to affect the normal life of his family, Mr. Tian left home and became displaced.
However, the 610 Office continued to follow up on his case. From 2021 to 2022, members of the Fujin City 610 Office, followed orders issued by the Jiamusi City 610 Office. They harassed Mr. Tian’s brother, sister, children, and other relatives on numerous occasions in order to find out where he was.
Ms. He Zeying from Qilin District lives in the No. 1 Living Community of Qujing Power Supply Bureau. The community security guards have been harassing Falun Gong practitioners for years. They followed Ms. He, recorded every time she entered or left the community, and reported her movements over the phone.
