(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally in Nuremberg on Human Rights Day, December 10, 2022, to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 23-year-long persecution. Parliament member Michael Frieser sent a letter to the event condemning the CCP’s atrocities.
Practitioners held a rally in Nuremberg, Germany, on December 10, 2022.
The second largest city in Bavaria, Nuremberg is known for the Nuremberg Trials of former Nazi members after World War II. With year-round Christmas markets, the city is often referred to as the gingerbread capital of the world.
After a brief hiatus during the pandemic, the popular Christmas markets returned in 2022 and attracted many tourists and local residents.
Passersby stopped to watch the practitioners’ rally.
The rally was held at Hallplatz in the old city. Many people stopped and listened to the speeches and talked with practitioners. Some signed petitions urging to end the persecution of Falun Dafa in China.
In her speech, practitioner Ursula explained what Falun Dafa is and how it has brought physical benefits and moral improvement to practitioners around the world. She said that because the CCP wiped out traditional values it launched the persecution against Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, many practitioners were detained and tortured, and some even became victims of the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. Ursula hopes more people will pay attention to this severe human rights violation so that the tragedies will end.
Passersby talk with practitioners and ask about the suppression in China.

Parliament member Michael Frieser.
Michael Frieser, a Member of the German Parliament, wrote a letter to voice his support. In it, he said that Germany and Europe cannot close their eyes to this ongoing crime that the CCP wishes to cover up. Protecting human rights through close economic ties with China has proven to be merely wishful thinking. He said the suppression against Falun Dafa and other groups should be stopped immediately.
Martina Mittenhuber, director of the Human Rights Office in Nuremberg, also sent a letter to the event. She wrote that the CCP must respond to the inquiry regarding forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners. Independent investigators should have free access to Chinese prisons and detention facilities for investigations.
Hubert Körper from the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR).
Hubert Körper, head of the Asian Department and board director of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR), spoke at the rally. He said the CCP suppressed Chinese people in numerous political campaigns including the Three-Anti (1951, targeting those who were not CCP members), the Five-Anti (1952, targeting business leaders), the Cultural Revolution, and the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The victims ranged from Tibetans and Uyghurs to Falun Dafa practitioners.
Körper said it was sad that Western media have largely been silent on the persecution against Falun Dafa for years. As a result, this suppression – the longest, largest, and worst human rights violation in China – still continues. He hopes more people will pay attention to this important matter.
Wu Manyang is an expert on issues related to China.
Wu Manyang, an expert on Chinese issues, said the German government and citizens need to help end the CCP’s human rights abuses against Falun Dafa because the CCP has been deceiving people and is now expanding its influence overseas.
For example, when it first joined the WTO (World Trade Organization), China promised political reform and human rights protection. But the CCP’s signature did not mean anything other than deceiving the international society. Right now, the CCP has established over 100 police stations overseas. In the name of providing services such as document renewal, these police branches follow secret orders from Chinese authorities to intimidate, blackmail, arrest, and possibly extradite dissidents, including German citizens.
Wu said the CCP is like a vicious red dragon that not only harms Chinese people, but it has a communist agenda to rule the world. That is why people need to be clear and stop feeding the vicious beast; otherwise, more people will become its victims.
Vanessa Maldanova and Max Brauner
After listening to the speeches, both Vanessa Maldanova and Max Brauner signed the petition to support practitioners. Vanessa said she previously heard about the forced organ harvesting from practitioners through social media. “This is too evil!” she said. Max, who works as a retailer, agreed.
Thomas Wonhas, mayor of Tannheim, also listened to the speeches. Both he and his wife thanked practitioners for telling people about Falun Dafa and the suppression in China. He said that it is important for people to hear this and take action.
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
