(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Nine practitioners were scheduled to have the second hearing in the Jingyang District Court on November 17, 2022. They are Qian Shuju, Tang Lirong, Long Shuping, Yu Yongqiong, Yan Yulan, Bao Shuhua, Yang Zhipeng, Zhao Jie, and Cai Shangyu. These practitioners were held the first hearing between October 25 to 29, 2021.
Mr. Wu Haibo was scheduled to be tried in the Chikan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on November 21, 2022.
Mr. Li Bing was arrested by officers from the Zhennan Police Station and the Kangping County Police Department on September 20, 2022. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Li Shuilian from Chaisang District was arrested at her home by officers from the Shahe Police Station at 5 p.m. on November 15, 2022. Her home was ransacked. Her computer and other personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Li was detained in the police station for over 24 hours.
Ms. Xu Aiqin lives in the Bizi Village, Gushan Town. She has been harassed by officers from the Gushan Frontier Police Station multiple times.
Two officers went to harass Ms. Xu on September 29, 2022. They photographed around and searched her home. They claimed that they would return the items confiscated from her home before if she stopped talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Tian Haiying from the Chaisang District and Ms. Li from Fenghuang City were arrested by officers from the Shahe Police Station on the afternoon of November 15, 2022 when they went out to mail truth clarifying letters.
Ms. Wu Yumei from Laiwu District was followed by plainclothes officers and was observed distributing information about Falun Gong. She has now been subpoenaed by the procuratorate.
Mr. Dong Yiran was arrested on February 24, 2022. He was sentenced to three years in prison by the Yuhong District Court on September 6, 2022. Mr. Dong is currently detained in No. 19 Ward, No. 1 Prison of Shenyang City.
Ms. Xia Honglan was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Pedestrian Street Police Station at 2 p.m. on October 2, 2022. She was body searched in the police station. The police confiscated 17 amulets, and over 100 yuan imprinted with Falun Gong facts. Ms. Xia was handcuffed and taken to her home in Donghu, Huicheng District. The police ransacked her home and confiscated 75 Falun Gong books, three sets of lecture DVDs, two photos of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, a cell phone, etc.
Mr. Wang Jianzhong was arrested by officer Wei Qingquan from the Xinhua District Police Department on January 29, 2022 for talking about Falun Gong. His home was ransacked that afternoon. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books, computer, cellphone, etc. The detention center refused to accept Mr. Wang because of his high temperature. He was released on bail the next day. His ID card and driver’s license were confiscated. He was placed under residential surveillance.
Mr. Wang was summoned to the police department by Wei Qingquan in mid-June 2022. He was told to go to the procuratorate in early August 2022. Now Mr. Wang stays away from his home to avoid further persecution.
Ms. Meng Xianfang, 60, was arrested at home by plainclothes officers from the Nansha Police Station and the Shahekou District Police Department at 2 p.m. on October 17, 2022. These people did not show their IDs when they forced their way into her home. They ransacked her home and took Ms. Meng to the police station. When Ms. Meng refused to cooperate, two officers beat her. They handcuffed her hands behind her back and tormented her by pulling the handcuffs upward. She was released around 7 p.m. because of Covid restrictions.
Wang Linchun, head of the Fangzheng Domestic Security Division, led two officers from the Daluomi Township Police Station and Ning, mayor of Songnan Township, to Ms. Cai Qin’s home on the morning of July 22, 2022. They asked whether Ms. Cai still practiced Falun Gong. She said yes. They held Ms. Cai and ransacked her home. When Ms. Cai refused to sign the confiscated item list, they forcefully held her arm to place her fingerprint on the paper, bruising her arm.
Ms. Cai was taken to the Fangzheng Police Department. She was pressured to read the words of a document. When she refused, she was handcuffed behind her back. Ms. Cai was taken to the Yaziquan Detention House at 11 p.m. and was detained there for 15 days.
