(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 36 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Officers from the Yueyatang Police Station in Wuhua District called Ms. Hu Min in Luquan County and harassed her on October 19, 2022. The next day, the officers went to her home and tried to take pictures of her. She stopped them.
It was reported that the Rencheng District Court sentenced 15 Falun Gong practitioners to prison on July 25, 2022. Ms. Mi Jinying was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan, while the other 14 practitioners received sentences ranging from two-and-a-half to five years. Among them, Xie Yugong, Li Hongxia, Chu Fuhua, Wang Xiling, Li Xuxia, Hou Chengqin, Hou Chengfu, and Li Yuegui were fined between 4,000 and 8,000 yuan. Most of the 15 practitioners are over 60 years old, and the eldest is over 80 years old. They were arrested on October 28, 2021.
That day, about 35 practitioners were arrested in Jining City. Authorities watched several practitioners with surveillance cameras and monitored their phones calls for months. These practitioners included Mi Jinying, Xie Yugong, Li Hongxia, Chu Fuhua, Wang Xiling, Hou Chengfu, Chang Guifang, Wang Xuejun, Man Zhengyu, Zhu Xiujuan, Ma Hongliang, and others.
Ms. Lu Wei was arrested at home by more than twelve officers from the Baojianlu Police Station, the Liaoyuan Police Station, and the Tielu Police Station in the Nangang District on July 11, 2022. The officers ransacked her home and took her to the Liaoyuan Police Station. Ms. Lu was later taken to the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center and was officially placed under arrest on August 15. Her case was turned over to Daoli District Procuratorate on October 8 by the Nangang District Domestic Security Division. It was brought to the Daoli District Court on November 3.
As reported recently, the Dongying District Court planned to sentence Ms. Bai Xingwen from the Shengli Oilfield on November 8, 2022. Previously, Ms. Bai and Ms. Liu Yanmei were held in the Hekou District Detention Center, and later transferred to the Binhai County Detention Center.
The two practitioners were tried by the Dongying District Court in late July 2022. They were arrested again at their homes on September 19 and September 20, 2022, respectively.
According to a hospital report, on the afternoon of November 4, 2022, Ms. Liu Hongxia suffered bleeding from her nose and the corners of her mouth. The hospital believed that she had only a few days left to live. Hospital officials contacted her family and told them to bring their children to see Ms. Liu for the last time.
An officer was present with a body camera when her family members visited her. Ms. Liu has been persecuted to this extent for her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Ms. Yang Mingzhen from Hanting District was implicated when she helped practitioners in Wulian County, Rizhao City. She is being held in the Rizhao City Detention Center. She now faces trial.
Mr. Yang Huiyong from Wuyi County was arrested and taken to the county police department. He went on a hunger strike in protest. Five days later, he was taken to the hospital for an infusion. At 4 a.m. Mr. Yang escaped from the hospital while the guards were sleeping. He contacted another practitioner. When he was being transferred to a safe place around 6 a.m. he was arrested again because a curfew was imposed across the county. Practitioner Xu Jianhua who was driving, was arrested with Mr. Yang.
Ms. Guo Libin from Hailin City was taken to Tailai Prison.
Mr. Bian Hongxiang’s son Mr. Bian Chunlei and grandson were arrested at their home by officers from the Nanguan District Police Department in Changchun City, as well as officers from Shulan City on November 4, 2022. The police ransacked Mr. Bian’s home.
Ms. Tang Xiaoming, in her 50s, was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong at the end of October 2022. She is currently being held in a facility in Pengxi County for quarantine.
Five or six officers from the Mishan City Police Department broke into Mr. Song Xuejun’s home at 7 p.m. on September 30, 2022. They ransacked the place without showing their badges. Mr. Song has been held in the Mishan City Detention Center.
When Ms. Hou Yulian from Xincheng Town, Sui County, was making fried dough sticks on the street, officers from the Suizhou Police Department surrounded her food stand and photographed her. Ms. Hou told them to stop taking pictures, but they did not stop.
That afternoon, the officers went to Ms. Hou’s home. No one was at home at the time. They broke in and ransacked the place. They confiscated two audio players, five or six Falun Gong books, a calendar on the wall, and several issues of Minghui Weekly.
Six or seven officers from the Baojian Road Police Station in Nangang District went to Ms. You Guifang’s home on the afternoon of March 1, 2022. They tore up the four Falun Gong calligraphy artworks that had the Chinese character for “blissfulness” posted on the door during the Chinese New Year season. They confiscated three photos of the founder of Falun Gong, several Falun Gong books, a copy of Hong Yin, Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a notebook, a radio, a box of incense, one incense burner, colorful lanterns, Master Li’s Falun Dafa lectures stored on memory cards, small Falun badges, and other items. Her non-practitioner husband was at home at the time.
Mr. Cao Xifeng, Mr. Zhang Daqing, and Ms. Zhang, from Shuangcheng District, were recently arrested by officers led by Xie Dianchen while the three practitioners were talking to people about Falun Gong. It was reported that the police tracked their cell phones. Mr. Zhang was released that day. It is not clear where Mr. Cao and Ms. Zhang are being held.
Ms. Wang Xiuguo and Ms. Sun Jing will be tried by the Shuncheng District Court on November 25, 2022.
Officers from the Qianjiadian Police Station in Yanqing District went to Ms. Liu Chunshu’s home and arrested her on October 9, 2022. They took her to the police station and then to the hospital for nucleic acid testing and a physical examination. They told her to sign paperwork and have her picture taken at the police department. Ms. Liu did not cooperate with their orders. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and many Falun Gong books.
After 9 p.m. Ms. Liu was taken from the police department to the police station. Afterwards, her family brought her home.
