(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 36 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Sun Deli from Lisui Town, Shunyi District, was prosecuted by the Shuyi District Procuratorate for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Officers from the Kuandian County Domestic Security Division broke into the home of Yang Qingyun (gender unknown) on October 13, 2022. They ransacked Yang’s home on the grounds of receiving reports that he or she distributed Falun Gong brochures. They confiscated over 20 Falun Gong books and took Yang to the Domestic Security Division for investigation. Yang was taken to Dandong City Detention Center the following day.
Officials from Yushu City Procuratorate called Ms. Zhang Shuhua and told her to go to the procuratorate on October 26, 2022. The procuratorate staff thought that her arrest was not approved, and returned the 2,000 yuan that she paid for her bail. Now they say they will go through the legal procedure and hold Ms. Zhang in custody.
Two officers from the Donghu Township Police Station in Jingyang District went to Ms. Xiao Yifeng’s home around 3 p.m. on October 24, 2022. When one officer used a cell phone to take photos of Ms. Xiao’s husband, he stopped him.
Around 9 a.m. on October 28, Ms. Xiao and her husband went shopping. When they walked to the gate of the community, they were blocked by three officers who were waiting there. The officers told the couple to follow them to the procuratorate to assist in the investigation. The officers said that they were waiting for someone from the Jingyang District Procuratorate to come and meet the couple. The couple waited for more than ten minutes, but no one came. They went home.
The couple’s son was working out of town. That afternoon, officers from the Donghu Township Police Station called him and harassed him. The officers told him that his parents were fugitives and refused to meet with procuratorate staff. The couple later went to the procuratorate. They asked questions at the prosecution window. A female clerk told them to sign the criminal offense statement. The couple refused to sign it.
Ms. Wei Shufen from Cheng’an County accompanied Mr. Niu Fuguo, and his wife Ms. Ding Qinfeng to the Beixiangyi Township Police Station on the morning of August 11, 2022. They asked the officers to return their computers and cell phones that were confiscated when they were recently arrested.
Director Fan Wenfei tried to force them to give their computer and mobile phone passwords. The couple did not cooperate. The three practitioners were taken to the Daodongbao Township Police Station.
Late in the afternoon, the couple was released separately and returned home. The next day, Ms. Wei was taken to the detention center for 10 days, and her home was searched.
Ms. Wang Minghua from the Huyi District was arrested and taken to the Meibihu Police Station by two officers on the evening of October 20, 2022. It was reported that she was implicated in a case of other practitioners who distributed truth clarifying materials. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a laptop, a desktop computer, hard discs, and Falun Gong books. Officers from the Huyi District Domestic Security Division, members of the 610 Office, the head of the Huimin police station in Yuxia Sub-districts, and two police officers participated in the persecution.
On October 21, Ms. Wang was taken to the detention center, where she was denied admittance due to the pandemic. She returned home that day.
Officers from the Jinling Town Police Station went to Ms. Guo Lixin’s home in the Guojia Village at 10 a.m. on October 20, 2022, and photographed her.
One officer said that he had to photograph her to prove that he visited her. Ms. Guo said no, that this was illegal. The officer threatened that if she did not cooperate they would drag her to the police station. The officer then started recording videos on his cell phone and photographed her. Afterwards they got in the car and left.
Ms. Tong Xuesheng, Ms. Sun Xiuli, Ms. Zhang Yongmei, and Mai Kanglin were held in custody for over two years. They were sentenced to prison by the Haizhu District Court in July 2022. Ms. Tong received a four-year prison term, and the other three practitioners’ prison terms ranged between two and four years.
Domestic security officers Zhai Jianhua and He Beicheng and members of the 610 Office in Yuancheng District, Heyuan City, led a group of police officers to Falun Gong practitioners’ homes around October 1, 2022. The officers harassed them and ransacked their homes. Some practitioners’ homes were ransacked two or three times.
Practitioners whose homes were raided were: Chen Ruyong, Li Youbin, Qiu Denong, Yuan Qunrui, Yuan Yarui, Huang Yuying, Chen Zhaolan, Deng Shi’e, Li Xindi, Ling Wangjin, Ling Yuxing, Xiao Meilian, Wu Shaofen, Zhu Yalan, Ouyang Xia, Xu Xin, Jie Liping, Zhang Weixian, Wu Runlian, Zhong Guixia, Zeng Yuxian, Huang Xiulian, Wu Hongwei and Wu’s wife Li Qingmei.
The officers ransacked Chen Ruyong’s home on October 4, and confiscated a computer and a printer. Chen was arrested and held in the Dongyuan County Detention Center. He has been transferred to the Heyuan City Detention Center.
More than twelve people from the Dongyuan County Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, the Chuantang Police Station, and the residential committee ransacked the homes of Qiu Denong and Li Youbin. Li was held in the Dongyuan County Detention Center. It was not clear which items were confiscated from Li’s home. The items confiscated from Qiu’s home included two photos of the founder of Falun Gong, two printers, numerous Falun Gong books, calendars, New Year paintings, amulets, and information about Falun Gong.
