(Minghui.org) When my manager at work asked me to share my coworker’s workload as she had too much to do, I agreed without hesitation. But when I asked her to reassume her workload when things slowed down for her, she found all kinds of excuses to put it off.
“You can’t do this. I have already solved many of your problems. Now you should do your own work,” I said to her.
She was reluctant, but she didn’t say anything.
I felt uncomfortable after what I’d said, as though I was in the wrong. The kind side of me thought that I could still cope with her work as well as my own and let her rest for a week. I mentally prepared myself to continue helping her if she asked me. But instead of talking to me, she went to our manager and persuaded him to continue having me do her job. That upset me.
When I was meditating at home, complaints about my coworker kept surfacing in my thoughts. I was immediately alerted and reminded myself, “These are not my thoughts. I am willing to help her. I won’t be angry at her for complaining to the manager about me. I will take things lightly and not be moved. I am willing to help her.”
The bad thoughts disappeared. When my thoughts are righteous and comply with the Fa, the old forces have no chance to interfere with me. I became calm and peaceful as I continued to meditate.
Through this, I understood that we should be clear which thoughts are ours and which are not. We should use the Fa, not human notions, to evaluate the situation.
Recently, practitioners in my area decided to study the Fa at my home for one week. I started preparing in the morning. When it was almost time for us to begin, no one came. I called one of the practitioners, who informed me that they had changed the location. I said, “Why didn’t anyone tell me about it? No one thought about me. I am still here, waiting for everyone!”
The practitioner kept apologizing. Later, a thought came to my mind: “They are so unreliable!”
I recalled this thought again when I went out and became alert instantly: “That wasn’t right, that wasn’t my thought. I can’t say practitioners are not reliable. This incident was caused by the old forces. I must negate them; I can’t think of practitioners this way. I won’t fall into the old forces’ trap.” The old forces wanted to create a gap among practitioners. If I can see through their scheme from the Fa, the old forces will not be able to succeed.
Master said,
“Rather, it is to have you validate the Fa while negating the old forces’ arrangements and opposing the persecution, and to, through this, progress towards godhood.” (“Fa Taught in the International Teleconference,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)
I understood that negating the old forces is the same as validating the Fa, and we should be constantly mindful of what’s on our mind.
Above is my personal understanding. If there is anything that does not accord with the Fa, please kindly point it out.
