(Minghui.org) I am a Dafa practitioner in Taitung, Taiwan. I am taking this opportunity to share with fellow practitioners my experience of saving people by making phone calls to China.
We have a group of practitioners in Taitung county who have been making phone calls to clarify the truth for 12 years. We worked together and cooperated with one another as a whole. It’s just as Master Li Hongzhi said:
“It’s just like when this fist goes out--it’s strong when everyone is clenched together.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IX)
We read the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts together before we start making phone calls. We also remind one another to maintain righteous thoughts and be compassionate. We wanted the person we were calling to feel our sincerity and kindness from our tone, in order to be effective in our clarifying the truth.
While working in a group setting, we felt a strong energy field around us, and we had more confidence in making the calls. We learned from hearing other group members' conversations, which improved our communication skills as a whole. When someone had difficulty clarifying the truth, other group members readily helped. When someone encountered obstacles, such as the other party remaining silent, changing the subject, or becoming abusive, then other group members helped the caller to respond appropriately.
The experienced practitioners led the practitioners who were new to the group. This helped the new members to quickly gain confidence and the communication skills needed to talk about the persecution, and advise people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. Our group improved quickly and demonstrated the power of working together as one in saving people.
When the Wuhan virus broke out in the beginning of 2020, we started making phone calls from our own homes, instead of as a group. My understanding was that I must continue this effort. So I made up my mind to do well in saving people and meet Master’s requirements. I am proud to be a Dafa practitioner!
The CCP escalated their efforts to deceive the Chinese people about the Wuhan virus. They concealed the real situation by creating a false image that they had the pandemic under control. This hindered some people from listening to our truth clarification. Some did not answer our phone calls. Some showed indifference to what we said about the real situation. And some even swore at us.
When dealing with these situations, we calmly replied, “We are calling you with hope that you survive the pandemic. We are sincerely offering you the opportunity to stay safe. Please don’t miss this invaluable opportunity!”
There were also many people who thanked us for telling them the real situation. A woman in Wuhan readily agreed to quit the CCP and its organizations. Afterward we helped her recite, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” Hearing her enthusiasm was really moving.
Another person asked me where I was calling from. Upon learning that I was calling from Taiwan, he thanked us for doing this meaningful thing. He told me he had not quit the CCP yet, although he had heard other practitioners’ clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. He then agreed to quit the CCP and its organizations.
Other people patiently listened as we talked. Then they told us that Dafa practitioners in China had already helped them quit the CCP and its organizations. We all felt that practitioners in China do a great job saving people!
When we called people who worked in the public security organs, the procuratorate, and the people’s courts, besides telling them how to protect themselves in the pandemic, we also advised them to unconditionally release any Dafa practitioners they arrested. Many police officers still had a conscience.
Our group members treated them as people awaiting salvation and talked to them with patience and compassion. Many of them changed their attitude toward Dafa.
One day, I called a domestic security office in China. The police officers there eagerly listened on the phone one after another. Each of them asked me what I told the previous officer. I repeated what I had said, again and again, about the real situation in China, that Falun Dafa saves people, and practitioners are being persecuted. This call helped three police officers quit the CCP and its organizations.
When a number of practitioners in a city in Northeastern China were arrested, we received the phone numbers of the personnel related to the arrest. I called the instructor of the domestic security division who was responsible for the case.
In the first two calls, he listened without saying anything. On the third call, he was still quiet at the beginning. But when I asked him to release the practitioners, he suddenly said, “We will release the three practitioners you mentioned tomorrow.” We received messages the next day that the three practitioners had gone home.
Some practitioners avoided calling lawyers. They thought since lawyers were educated under the CCP’s system of education, it would be difficult to talk to them about Falun Dafa. In my calling experience, I talked to many lawyers who had a sense of justice and were willing to defend practitioners. One lawyer, when quitting the CCP exclaimed, “Use my real name to quit. I don’t need a nickname!”
I came to understand that every phone call is also an opportunity for us to cultivate. We may talk to different people at different levels of social status and from different backgrounds. However, each call contains the connotations that Master arranged for us to understand, and the realms He arranged for us to reach.
Last year during the lock down, many fellow practitioners joined our phone call group. However, Taiwan also entered into a third-level national alert in May, and many group activities were temporarily restricted. These included getting together in a group to make phone calls and clarifying the truth to people at tourist sites. We all understood the importance of making phone calls to save people, so we started making them from our homes.
However, the calling system we used experienced severe interference during that time. Many of our calls were blocked. So many practitioners turned to using the Internet to tell people about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Only a few practitioners persisted to make phone calls from home. The effectiveness of the phone calls was greatly reduced.
We received a new phone calling system this July. Some practitioners helped to set up the system, and our phone calls are now as effective as before. I sincerely thanked the fellow practitioners for their selfless efforts!
The national alert level in Taiwan was reduced to the second level in mid-August, and we resumed our group activities making phone calls. When a newcomer joined our group, I helped her set up an account, taught her how to make phone calls using the system, and showed her how to download phone numbers. On the following evening, she said she successfully downloaded the phone numbers, and on her first phone call she persuaded the other party to quit the CCP and its organizations. Her experience greatly encouraged the practitioners in the group. I feel that as long as we have the heart to save people, Master will help us.
In the past year, many of my attachments grew, and many ordinary things bothered me. These attachments included fear, competition, resentment, and pursuing comfort. My righteous thoughts were sometimes stronger and sometimes weaker, and my voice became hoarse. My situation seriously hindered my effectiveness in saving people.
At a group Fa study, we read this passage in one of Master Li's lectures:
“Don’t think about the things that have happened. Think about how to do well from now on, and become truly responsible to yourself and to sentient beings.” (Teachings From a Tour of North America)
Master’s teaching deeply touched me. I looked inside for the reasons, and then I felt ashamed. Because of my selfishness, I had forgotten that my mission is to save sentient beings, and I even held onto my attachments. I corrected my selfish mentality, then posted my experiences of passing tribulations on the group platform to share with fellow practitioners.
Afterward, I felt extremely relieved. With Master’s help, I discarded many of my attachments. My sharing also encouraged fellow practitioners in the group. Everyone became more diligent.
Looking back on my path of saving people by making phone calls, I came to understand that Master arranged this path for us a long time ago, and it is up to us how to walk this path. Master has granted us the greatest title in the universe “Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples.” (Teachings From a Tour of North America). We must do the three things well, with our greatest effort, to be worthy of this glorious title!
