(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Li Hongshan was arrested at his rented apartment by officers from the Xihongmen Police Station in the Daxing District on November 18, 2020. The police confiscated his motorcycle, bank card, cell phones, and other belongings. It was recently learned that Mr. Li was sentenced to five years in prison by the Daxing District Court on October 14, 2021. He was taken to a detention center in Beijing. Mr. Li is now emaciated. His glasses were taken from him, and he has difficulty seeing.
Ms. Zhang Cui was informed that she was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan by the Ganjingzi District Court in early November 2021. She has appealed to the Dalian Intermediate Court.
Ms. Zhang’s husband has a first-degree disability. After Ms. Zhang was detained he had to be taken to a nursing home, where the conditions are not good.
Mr. Lin Lisheng, 65, is currently detained in the No. 1 Detention Center of Maoming City. It was learned that his case was submitted to the Maonan District Court.
Ms. Pan Dongmai, 43, and Ms. Yang Shulan, around 70, live in Meihua Town, Maoming City. They were recorded by surveillance cameras when they were posting truth-clarifying flyers. They were arrested by twelve police officers in May 2021, and their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners are currently being held in the No. 1 Detention Center of Maoming City. It was learned that Ms. Yang was tried in the Maonan District Court two months ago. Her family has not been able to see her.
When Ms. Pan Dongmei took the high-speed train she was arrested by officers from the Maoming Railway Station on September 20, 2021. She was detained for ten days in the No. 2 Detention Center of Maoming City.
Mr. Li Qichang lives in Yangji Town, Tancheng County. He passed away at the age of 59 around February 21, 2021 while he was on medical parole. Mr. Li had been arrested and detained multiple times during the more than 20 years Falun Gong has been persecuted. He was detained in the Linyi City Detention Center, Tancheng Detention Center, Yangji Town Police Station, Xinyi City Police Department in Jiangsu Province, and other places.
Mr. Wang Shuo and Ms. Zhu Lei were detained for ten days and released on December 19, 2021.
Mr. Wang Shuo was forced to resign from the Huangshi PetroChina company. Otherwise he would have been fired. When Mr. Wang went to his work unit to go through the resignation procedure on December 21, 2021, he was told not to leave because the police would come to talk to him that afternoon. Mr. Wang’s mother Wang Ping went to his workplace that afternoon and both of them were able to leave after clarifying the truth.
Ms. Ding Wenjuan, in her 70s, was reported to police by a student for talking about Falun Gong. She was arrested at around 4 p.m. on December 18, 2021 and taken to the Quanshan Police Station. Because she refused to sign a guarantee statement, she was slapped by the police officers. She was released at around 7 p.m. that evening.
Ms. Mao Xianhua and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Shizi Police Station in the Chaisang District on December 17, 2021.
Mr. Liu Zhoubo, 51, and his wife Ms. Cao Wen live in the Wanzhuang Petroleum Research Branch in Guangyang District. They were arrested on November 19, 2021. Their home was ransacked and their cell phones were confiscated. Mr. Liu was accused of sending text messages via Bluetooth in the Beijing subway. Mr. Liu is currently being detained in the No. 3 Detention Center of Beijing. Ms. Cao Wen is detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Beijing.
Ms. Dai Yaoqi, 71, has been arrested and detained many times since the persecution of Falun Gong began. People from the local community organization have harassed her since the spring of 2021. They pressured her to sign a guarantee statement and threatened to send her to a brainwashing center. They returned on September 18, 2021 and one day in October 2021.
Four people including a police officer from the Nanshan Police Station went to her home at around 8 a.m. on November 26, 2021. They searched around and confiscated two media players. The police officers went to her home again at around 8 a.m. on December 1, 2021. Ms. Dai was not at home. They stayed there until 3 p.m.
Ms. Dai was arrested at around 2 p.m. on December 4, 2021 when she walked into the hallway in the building where she lived. A police car was waiting for her. She was taken to the Nanshan Police Station and later to the Changchun Detention House. She was detained for six days.
Ms. Lu Jinping was arrested at home on May 14, 2021. She was forcibly interrogated. The police grabbed her hair and hit her head against a wall. Ms. Liu will be tried in the Xiangyang District Court on December 24, 2021.
Ms. Li Ping was arrested near her home by officers from the Chaisang District Police Department and the Economic Development Zone Police Station on November 20, 2021. She has since been detained in the Jiujiang Detention Center.
Ms. Li’s home was ransacked on November 21, 2021 while no one was at home. The police confiscated more than 10,000 yuan in cash, a computer, and many other personal belongings. Her family was warned not to tell others about the raid, or Ms. Li would be punished severely.
Mr. Li Minfu was arrested on December 14, 2021 and has been detained in the Wuqing District Detention Center. It was learned that Mr. Li was sentenced to four years in prison by the Wuqing Court.
Ms. Liu Gangli from the Tiexi District was sentenced to four years and six months in prison by the Economic Development Zone Court for distributing truth-clarifying materials in 2020. The verdict was upheld in the Intermediate Court. Ms. Liu is currently being detained in the No. 1 Detention Center of Shenyang City.
Ms. Liu’s younger brother has been trying to appeal for his sister, and went to the procuratorates and the courts. He was arrested by officers from the Gongrenchun Police Station on December 21, 2021 and was placed under 10-day detention.
Mr. Xu Dewu was arrested by officers from the Weiziyu Police Station at around 6 a.m. on October 21, 2020. He was sentenced to four years in prison by the Shuncheng District Court on April 21, 2021. The verdict was upheld by the Fushun Intermediate Court on July 15, 2021.
Mr. Xu was detained in the Xinbin County Detention Center until being transferred to the Panjin Prison on December 17, 2021. His family was told that he would be detained in the Panjin Prison for one month and might be transferred to another prison later. He was not allowed to be visited or make phone calls.
Mr. Tian Guorou’s son and daughter-in-law have been harassed numerous times recently by officer Wu Dali from the Xidayingzi Town Police Station. They were pressured to sign the three statements on behalf of Mr. Tian. Wu called the young couple to the police station and went to their home to harass and threaten them.
Ms. Li Guixiang, in her 70s, was arrested at home by more than 20 officers from the Xinmi City Police Department, the Zhengzhou City Police Department, the Wulibao District Police Department, and the Daxue Road Police Station on December 6, 2021. Her home was ransacked.
Many practitioners were arrested in the Laishan District on June 10, 2021. It was learned that the cases against three of them, including Ms. Sun Qiuhong, Ms. Sun Dingmei, and Ms. Zhang Meiling, were submitted to the Laishan District Court.
Ms. You Yuxuan, who graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, has worked in Beijing for two years. She was reported to police when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials and talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Dougezhuang Police Station in the Chaoyang District at around 7 p.m. on December 9, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her personal belongings, including a printer, an iPhone, and truth-clarifying booklets, were confiscated. Ms. You is currently being detained in the Chaoyang District Detention Center.
