(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9provinces, where at least 40 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhao Xiulan, Ms. Sun Fengxian, and Ms. Gao Xiaoqi of Nong’an County were arrested by Nong’an County police on July 15, 2021. They were tried by the Dehui Court on April 9, 2021. The court did not allow their families or attorneys to defend them. Ms. Zhao, Ms. Sun, and Ms. Gao were sentenced to five years, two years, and nine years in prison respectively on July 26, 2021. The three practitioners appealed.
The Changchun Intermediate Court accepted their cases on September 1, 2021. The appeal court judge is Zang Wancheng.
Ms. Wang Yanfeng was arrested by officers from the Huajia Police Station in November 2020. Without any hearing, she was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. She was given a physical exam in the Dalian Hospital and then released.
On September 1, 2021, officers from the Huajia Police Station forced her to undergo another physical exam, including blood testing.
Ms. Wang Ying and Ms. Zhang Huifang were arrested on January 19, 2020, after someone reported them when they talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked on March 30, 2020. They were released on bail.
The first court hearing against them was held on April 26, 2021.
The Nankai District Court will hold the next hearing at 9:00 a.m. on September 6, 2021 in the Fifth Court.
Mr. Wang Dianhua of the Jiutai District, 63, was arrested by officers from the Jiutai District Domestic Security Division on September 1, 2021. He was given five days of detention.
Ms. Wang Xiufen was arrested at home by more than twelve officers from the Leyuan Police Station on the morning of April 19, 2021. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books, keepsakes, printouts, four media players, calendars, and other items.
She was taken to the police station. The police photographed her, and collected her fingerprints and blood samples. She was taken to the Zhonggong Detention Center the next afternoon. But the detention center did not admit her because she failed the physical exam. She was released that night.
On August 3, 2021, two officers broke into her home and ordered her to press her fingerprints. They said they would file charges against her to the procuratorate.
Mr. Ni Youqing and Ms. Wang Cuizhi were harassed by village committee member Zhang Wanli and others around July 20, 2021. They were ordered to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong and threatened with their granddaughter’s future.
Ms. Li Cuihua’s husband was forced to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong for his wife on July 26, 2021, by Jin Yun, secretary of Gaomiaobao Township Political and Legal Affairs Committee. Ms. Li was harassed again by village committee member Li Xuejun on August 9, 2021.
Mr. Yin Xianbo was harassed by officer Wu on September 1, 2021. Wu is from the Intelligence Squadron, Second Criminal Investigation Brigade, Daowai Police Department. Wu pretended to try to understand Mr. Yin’s job. His cell phone is now monitored by the police. His family was questioned and harassed by the police.
Ms. Sun Cun was harassed at home by street clerk Sun Lihui, clerks from the neighborhood committee, and a community officer on September 1, 2021. She was ordered to sign the three statements renouncing Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang Kezhen finished her 14-month prison term in the Anhui Women’s Prison on September 3, 2021. She was taken away by clerks from Zhongxing Township, Feidong County when she left the prison. Her current situation is unknown.
Ms. Pan Jing and three visitors (practitioners) were arrested at her home by six or seven officers from the Yongchang Police Station on September 3, 2021. The officers ransacked her home.
The home of Ms. Jia (first name unknown) was ransacked by officers from the Xinshizhonglu Police Station and the Qiaoxi Police Department on the afternoon of August 25, 2021.
Mr. Liu Yingjun, Ms. Chen Yuanfen, and Ms. He Rongrong were harassed by five community clerks, including Xiao Yijun, on September 1, 2021. The clerks demanded the practitioners stay home and sign documents as evidence that they complied. The practitioners refused.
Ms. Chen Jun’s daughter-in-law worked in a kindergarten school. CCP secretaries Yang Qian and Li Yuangang from Wanren Community went to the kindergarten school, demanded the principal pressure the daughter-in-law and have her make her mother-in-law sign a document renouncing Falun Gong. As a result, the daughter-in-law was stressed out.
Ms. Yang Hong of Jingzhou City went to her daughter’s home in Guangdong Province on May 22, 2021. When she was changing trains in the West Yichange Railroad Station, three officers searched her luggage. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, a CD containing Falun Gong exercise music, an MP3, a piece of paper with phone numbers, and several keepsakes. They photographed her tablet and cell phone screens. She was let go when the train was about to leave.
Mr. Wei Jiaming was taken to the village office by the CCP secretary and others from the Meihua Village brigade, Youai Town on September 1, 2021. He was forced to undergo brainwashing and sign documents renouncing Falun Gong.
Mr. Zhang Longgui was taken to the village office by more than twelve people, including a brigade CCP secretary from Youai Town, on September 2, 2021. He was forced to undergo brainwashing and sign documents renouncing Falun Gong.
Ms. Liang Shaolin of Maoming City lives in her younger sister’s home in Guangzhou. On September 2, 2021, several officers went there, questioned her sister about her whereabouts, and tried to force their way into the place. Her sister stopped them. The officers photographed her sister with their cell phones.
Ms. Jiang Ruihua was harassed at home by two community clerks on August 13, 2021. The clerks ordered her to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong. She refused.
Three officers carrying camcorders entered Ms. Zhang Yuping’s store on August 31, 2021. They questioned her and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. They also tried to get information about her family and her parents. She said that what they did was illegal, and refused to answer any of their questions. She then stated the facts about Falun Gong. The officers left.
Ms. Li Chunhua was harassed at home by officers from the Yangjuan Town Police Station, Yu County, on July 24, 2021. The officers questioned her. They wanted information about her house and automobiles, and the names and phone numbers of her children. They also videotaped her against her will.
Ms. Li Xiaoyan was harassed at home by officers from the Yangjuan Town Police Station on July 26, 2021. They questioned her and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. They wanted her home address, the number of people in her family, their names and cell phone numbers, and if she owned any cars. They videotaped her against her will.
Ms. Qi Cuiyun was harassed at home by officers from the Nanliuzhuang Town Police Station, Yu County, on June 13, 2021. The officers asked who owned the house, asked for her cell phone number, and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. They videotaped her against her will.
Chen Zhihua (gender unknown) was harassed at home by officer Men Jinming and others from the Nanliuzhuang Town Police Station on August 6, 2021. They questioned if Chen still practiced Falun Gong, videotaped the process, recorded the information about Chen’s family members as well as their houses and cars.
Ms. Pan Bijian, around 65, has not been heard from since August 16, 2021. Details are unknown.
Ms. Gao Xiuyin of Linqing City was arrested and held at the Liaocheng City Detention Center by officers from the Liugaizi Town Police Station and Gaotang County on June 7, 2021.
Ms. Zhang Tianyu was harassed by a group of officers from the Fanjianglu Police Station, led by village head Cheng Zhengjun, on the morning of September 1, 2021. They forced her daughter to sign a guarantee statement denouncing Falun Gong for her, and had her press her fingerprints on it.
Ms. Li Juefang, Ms. Tan Hongxiang, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, and Ms. Zhang Shuzhi were harassed at home by director Yu from the Shengjing Police Station. Yu questioned them and asked if they still practiced Falun Gong. The practitioners did not answer Yu’s questions; instead, they told him the facts about Falun Gong. Yu left after 10 minutes.
Ms. Li Guiying, 60, was harassed at home by a community officer, an office assistant, and a clerk from the neighborhood committee on February 9, 2020. They confiscated over 30 Falun Gong books, over 100 printouts, four electronic devices, a cell phone, and a computer. After Ms. Li was interrogated, she was released on bail for a year.
A year later on February 9, 2021, she was called to the police station to sign a document, and was given 15 days of detention. She was not jailed because she was diagnosed with diabetes during the detention center’s physical exam.
During the CCP “zero-out (practitioners)” campaign from June to August 2021, Ms. Li and her family were harassed. Community officers and clerks from the neighborhood committee searched her daughter’s home, and threatened her family members through phone calls. They ordered her husband, daughter, and son-in-law to get her to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong. The family lived in fear.
