1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Face Trial
The Ranghulu District Court scheduled a virtual hearing for 9:00 a.m. on June 22, 2021, for seven practitioners: Mr. Li Lizhuang, Mr. Huo Xiaohui, Ms. Tang Zhuying, Ms. Li Yanqing, Ms. Ding Yan, Ms. Jiao Qihua, and Ms. Zhao Lihua.
2. [Jieyang City, Guangdong province] Ms. Wang Qingtian’s Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Wang Qingtian of Jiexi County distributed Falun Gong flyers one night at the end of January 2020. Her husband, a non-practitioner, drove her on his motorcycle. Someone reported her to the police. She was arrested by officers from the Huizhai Police Station. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Practitioners Held in Nanshan Detention Center
The following practitioners were held in the Nanshan Detention Center between 2019 and 2021.
Ms. Huang Guiying, in her 70s, has lived in her children’s home in Shenzhen for 20 years. She was arrested and released on bail in 2019 for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was sentenced to six months in prison in February 2021 and is being held in the Nanshan Detention Center. She will finish her term in August.
Ms. Zhang Hongxia of Harbin City, 65, lives in her daughter’s home in Shenzhen. She was arrested in January 2020 for distributing Falun Gong flyers and released on bail. She was sentenced to 11 months in prison in September 2020. She was held in the Nanshan Detention Center from October 2020 to January 2021, then transferred to the Guangzhou City Women’s Prison. She will finish her term in August 2021.
Ms. Sheng Li, 46, from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is a long-term Shenzhen resident and owns a foreign trade company. She was arrested in May 2020 for speaking up for Falun Gong.
Wang (first name and gender unknown), in his or her 60s, was arrested for distributing Falun Gong flyers within a month after coming to his or her child’s home in Shenzhen from Shaanxi Province at the end of 2020.
Practitioners held in the Nanshan Detention Center included Fu Xiaoli, Liu Changqing, Liang Zhanhong, Sun Xuexin, Liu Lixia, Xue Aimei, Sheng Li, Zhao Yelan, Tan Junhua, Guan Yibo, Tian Biqing, Wang Yumei, Zhou Xiaochun, Fan Lin, Nan Minmin, Fu Zhengping, Cao Xianggan, Ning Huagui, Luo Zhiyin, and others.
4. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Kexuecheng Police Harass Practitioners
Ms. Liu Ping, Ms. Li Jingmin, Ms. Su Nan, Ms. Zhang Dexiu, and Ms. Li Shuqin were arrested by officers from the Kexuecheng Police Department in April 2021. Their homes were ransacked. Officers have been monitoring practitioners. Their surveillance cars are parked in front of practitioners’ homes.
A group of officers from the Kexuecheng Police Department ransacked practitioners’ homes and arrested them on April 9, 2021. Ms. Li Jingmin, 81, was arrested and released on bail. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Zhang Dexiu, 76, was arrested and released on bail. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Li Shuqin, 78, and her daughter, Ms. Su Nan, were arrested and taken to the Kexuecheng Police Department. Their home was ransacked. Ms. Li was released on bail that night. Ms. Su was imprisoned in the Zitong Detention Center on April 10. She launched a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was transferred to the Mianyang Detention Center. Her hunger strike lasted around two weeks. She was released on bail on May 14. Ms. Su was previously sentenced to three years in prison. Her bones became deformed as a result of persecution. She never fully recovered. She has difficulty maintaining balance when walking, and cannot fully bend her left leg.
Ms. Liu Ping went to the Kexuecheng Police Department to appeal for the release of practitioners on April 12. She was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division. Her home was ransacked. She was detained in the Jiangyou Detention Center for 15 days. Before her release, police forced her older brother to sign a detainee release form for her. She has been monitored by officer Fan. When she left her parent’s home, Fan intentionally greeted her and indicated that she was being watched.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Li Zhanjin Detained
Ms. Li Zhanjin, 73, is a retired senior engineer from Beijing University. She was arrested at home by seven officers from the Haidian District Police Department and the Yanyuan Police Station on the morning of September 29, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and seized Falun Gong books, computers, and other items. She was interrogated in the Judiciary Committee office in the police department. She has been held in the Haidian District Detention Center. Details are unknown.
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners’ Pensions Stopped
Ms. Zhu Yafen was sentenced to a year in prison for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was released on September 23, 2020. Four thousand yuan was deducted from her pension. Her pension has been stopped since May 2021.
Ms. Xu Yuzhi was sentenced to a year in prison for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was released on November 7, 2020, and 4,000 yuan was deducted from her pension. Her pension has been stopped since June 2021.
Ms. Liu Shaojun was stalked and arrested after she visited the home of her classmate who practiced Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. She was released on October 23, 2020. She was fined 5,000 yuan and her pension has been stopped.
7. [Pingquan City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Harassed
Officers from the Qiaodong Police Station went to Ms. Wang Huimin’s home at noon on June 2, 2021. They searched her cabinets and photographed the contents of her home.
Ms. Liu Guizhi received a call from the Pingquan City police around May 15, 2021, when she was taking care of her grandchild in her daughter’s home in Guangzhou. The officer asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. She was harassed by railroad police when she boarded a train to go home.
Mr. Hou Zhanyuan and his wife, Ms. Liu Guiqin, were harassed at home by officers from the Daohugou Township Police Station in May 2021. The officers asked if they still practiced Falun Gong and wanted to photograph them. They refused to cooperate.
Officers from the Pingquan Town Police Station called Ms. Hu Yujuan in May 2021. They asked if she was home and where she was. She told them she was taking care of children in Chengde City. They demanded that she return to Pingquan.
Four officers from the Pingquan Town Police Station went downstairs in Ms. Xie Guohua’s home on May 12, 2021. They called her, questioned if she still practiced Falun Gong, and ordered her to come downstairs and let them photograph her. She did not cooperate.
8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Mingxiu Harassed
Ms. Wang Mingxiu was harassed at home by officers from the Liulishanlu Police Sation and clerks from her residential committee at the end of May 2021. One of them held a police camcorder. The leader questioned her and asked what was in her mind recently and if she kept in touch with those people (her Falun Gong neighbors).
9. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Harassed
Two officers from the Mengheling Police Station went to the home of Ms. Liu (first name unknown). They demanded to see her identity card, took her fingerprints, and photographed her. The officers then went to the home of Ms. Zhao (first name unknown). But she did not answer the door.
Ms. Chen (first name known) received a harassing call from community CCP secretary Yang Ying and officer Cheng Like around June 3, 2021. The two also called her husband. He did not answer the phone.
Ms. Deng Manrong, 80, is the wife of a retiree of Xiangtan University. In early March 2021, the university retirement office deputy secretary Chen called her husband, asked if she was at home, and demanded to talk to her. Her family was repeatedly harassed during last year’s “door knocking” campaign. They even called her son and ordered him to sign for her.
Ms. Liu Xiantao was harassed at home on June 4, 2021, by two officers from the Changcheng Police Station residing in the Xiangtan University police office. The officers pretended to take fingerprints for an identity card. They checked her identity card and collected her information. They then went to harass Lu Xiqun (gender unknown) at his or her home.
Ms. Li Meiduan received a call from Ding Tao from the Retirement Office, Hunan Technology University in mid-May 2021. Ding said that they would come to her home and photograph her.
A practitioner (name unknown) works in Xiangtan Technology University and was admitted to the hospital. The practitioner's salary has been deducted for many years. Her boss asked her doctor to persuade her husband to sign for her.
Ms. Fan Xihua’s family received a call from their community office on the morning of April 23, 2021. The caller asked Ms. Fan to report to the community office. She did not go. Her husband received a harassing call from officer Jin from the Futan Police Station after 9:00 a.m. on June 5. Jin asked if Ms. Fan was at home.
A female clerk from Ms. Fan's community-led two officers from the Hutan Police to her home after 10:00 a.m. on June 9, 2021. As soon as they entered, the officers said they would collect her information. The male officer was preparing to videotape and the female officer was getting ready to photograph. She did not follow their orders.
10. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Practitioners Harassed
Officers from the Chifeng Police Department keep harassing practitioners. Mr. Qu Yazhong, Ms. Bian (first name unknown), Ms. Sun (first name unknown) and her husband Mr. Ju, Ms. Hao Ping and her husband Mr. Li Fuan, Mr. Zhao Hongyang and his wife Ms. Zhao Chunfeng, Ms. Zhang Sulan, Ms. Wang Cuihua, Ms. Wang Jinglan, Li Haizhen (gender unknown), Wei Jianhong (gender unknown), Ms. Wang Xiangyu, Ms. Zheng Xiuyun, and Liu (first name and gender unknown) were harassed. Ms. Wang Xiangling’s family was harassed by phone calls.
Ms. Hu Xiuli and her husband, Mr. Lan (first name unknown), and Mr. Xue Xiangshan of Yuanbaoshan District were harassed.
11. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Yanxiang Harassed
Ms. Cao Yanxiang was harassed at home by three officers from the Nanchentun Police Station, led by the village accountant, on the morning of June 3, 2021. One of them took pictures of her door using their cell phone. She stopped him. They went inside her home and said, “We've come to check if you have any difficulties.” She immediately replied that they came to harass her. They said they did not have a choice, and left after a while.
12. [Songzi City, Hubei Province] Additional News on the Harassment Against Practitioners
Ms. Hu Jiqin noticed several men and women photographing and videotaping her on her way to go shopping around May 29, 2021. She also noticed a woman stalking her for a long distance. She was repeatedly harassed by people from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and her community.
Ms. Lei Tizhen was harassed at home twice by people from her work unit. They ordered her to attend sessions in a brainwashing center.
Ms. Fu Zhen, a teacher from the Chengguan Primary School, was harassed by clerks from her community and officers from the local police station around June 9, 2021. Mr. Tao Tingjing, Yang Chaoqiong (gender unknown), Ms. Liu Xuecui, Wang Zuping (gender unknown), Ms. Zhang (first name unknown), Chen Yanli (gender unknown), and Zhao Mei (gender unknown) were repeatedly harassed by clerks from their communities, officers from local police stations, and agents from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
13. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Junling Detained
Ms. Zhang Junling was taken to the Yanji Detention Center after being given a nucleic acid test on June 9, 2021.
14. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Husband and Wife Arrested
Ding Luyi couple were arrested at noon on June 15, 2021, by officers from the Lishu County Domestic Security Division. They are being held at the Lishu County Police Department. Their elderly relative has difficulty walking and is at home alone. Their child is studying in college.
15. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Yanxia’s Husband Harassed
Ms. Li Yanxia’s husband received harassing calls from clerks from their residential committee on June, 9, 10, and 13, 2021. They said Ms. Li was on a special list.
Her husband was harassed and videotaped at work by officers from the Nanjiang Police Station on June 15, 2021. He had heart stent surgery recently. He could hardly eat for several days each time after he was harassed.
16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Miao Yongli and Niu Ruiying Detained
Miao Yongli (gender unknown) and Niu Ruiying (gender unknown) couple were arrested by officers from the Guzhi District Police Department, Domestic Security Division, police station, and agents from the 610 Office around 5:30 a.m. on May 12, 2021. Their home was ransacked. Their printers, printer paper, more than 300,000 yuan in cash, and other items were confiscated. Miao is being held in the Luanzhou City Detention Center, while Niu is being held in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.
17. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Zhang Yuping Detained
Zhang Yuping (gender unknown) was arrested by officers from the Wenmiao Police Station on the evening of June 12, 2021. Zhang is being held at a detention center.
18. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xia Mingjin and Ms. Tang Manxiang Arrested
Ms. Xia Mingjin and Ms. Tang Manxiang were arrested at their homes by officers from the Daishan Police Station around 10:30 a.m. on June 15, 2021. Their homes were ransacked. Their whereabouts are unknown.
19. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fu Shengqiang Harassed
Mr. Fu Shengqiang of the Huangpi District worked in another city. When agents from the Huangpi District 610 Office and officers from the local police station did not find him at his home, they checked with his relative. They had his relative call him and order him to come home. He came home. A group of people from the 610 Office and the police station tried to force him to renounce Falun Gong. He refused. Several days later, his relative told him to report to a brainwashing center. He returned to his work out of town. He no longer goes back to his hometown.
20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chunmei Detained
Ms. Li Chunmei is being held at the Yaojia Detention Center.
21. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yufeng Detained, Ms. Zhang Yuhua Disappeared
Ms. Zhang Yufeng was taken to a detention center. Ms. Zhang Yuhua’s whereabouts are unknown.
22. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yali Incarcerated
Ms. Zhang Yali, in her 70s, was sentenced to three years in prison. She is being incarcerated in the Third Squad, Fourth Ward, Liaoning Women’s Prison. She is forced to make protective suits and works overtime every day.
23. [Shanghai] Mr. Liu Shunming Stalked
Mr. Liu Shunming was monitored and stalked at noon on June 16, 2021.
24. [Hejiang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Zexuan Harassed
Mr. Wang Zexuan was imprisoned for seven years. After he was released, he kept moving around to avoid being harassed by police. Since 2021, officers from the Jiuzhi Town Police Station frequently called his family and looked for him. They claim they will stop harassing him if he renounces Falun Gong.
25. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yao Qiang Arrested
Ms. Yao Qiang was arrested by officers from the Bayuquan District Domestic Security Division on June 1, 2021, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was first taken to the Domestic Security Division. When she was taken home she was accompanied by officers, clerks from her community, and officers from the Honghai Police Station.
They ransacked her home, videotaped, and photographed it. She tried to stop them from taking away her Falun Gong books and a picture of Falun Gong's founder. They held her on a sofa and did not allow her to stand up. They seized over 50 copies of Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, two cell phones, three players, more than 10 U-drives, and other items. Before they left, they threatened her son that his mother was detained. They told her that she could practice at home and not be taken away, but she would be sentenced if she was seen going out and talking to people about Falun Gong again.
26. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Fan Hua Arrested
Fan Hua (gender unknown) of Yantai City visited his/her family in Shanghai in May 2021. Fan posted Falun Gong flyers and was caught by a surveillance system. Fan was arrested by officers from the Tianfu Police Station at noon on June 16, 2021. Fan’s whereabouts are unknown.
27. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Harassed
Three officers from the Xiguan Police Station, Gaomi City, went to Ms. Zan Ruilian’s home and Ms. Wang Kexiu’s home around 10:00 a.m. on June 4, 2021. The officers harassed and photographed the practitioners.
Officers from the Jiangzhuang Police Station, Gaomi City, went to Ms. Cai Yuzhen’s home, Ms. Cai Yuxia’s home, and Ms. Song Yuemei’s home around 9:00 a.m. on June 3, 2021. The officers harassed and photographed the practitioners.
28. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Han Kai Arrested
Mr. Han Kai was arrested at work on June 15, 2021.
29. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mother Imprisoned, Son Detained
Ms. Huang Zhiping is incarcerated in prison. Her son and daughter were arrested on their way to their hometown, Guang’an City, on June 14, 2021. The daughter was released. Her son, Mr. Wang Tianyi, in his 20s, is being held in the Jiulong Detention Center in Chongqing.
30. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Jincai Harassed
Two men in their 20s, who might work for the town government, went to the grain shop that Mr. Liu Jincai worked at on June 10, 2021. They demanded he sign a paper. He asked what was the purpose. They said, if he signed and renounced Falun Gong, he won’t be bothered anymore; his children won’t be blocked from getting higher education, joining the army, or applying for government jobs. He refused to sign.
31. [Lingwu City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Sentenced
Mr. Li Xuejun, Ms. Yu Runcai (wife of Mr. Li), and Mr. Zhang Xingzeng were arrested in April 2020. Mr. Li was sentenced to six years in prison. Ms. Yu was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Mr. Zhang’s sentence is unknown. Mr. Li and Mr. Zhang are being held in the Ningxia Pre-Imprison Center.
32. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Cuiling Detained
Ms. Li Cuiling was arrested at home by officers from the Xin’an Police Station on June 14, 2021. She was detained for five days for suing former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin.
33. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Guangxiang Arrested
Ms. Zhang Guangxiang was arrested in the Yonghui Super Market by officers from the Qingyuan Police Station on June 10, 2021. Police said a surveillance system caught her distributing Falun Gong flyers. They ransacked her home and found nothing. Now Ms. Zhang’s whereabouts are unknown.
34. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Minfang Imprisoned
Ms. Li Minfang was sentenced to five years of house arrest. Officer Zhang Xiaojun from the Jing’erlu Police Station took her to a detention center on May 11, 2021. The detention center did not admit her because she was too old. She stayed home for a month and was taken to the detention center again on June 11. This time she was imprisoned.
35. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Shuhua and Mr. Li Guolin Arrested
Ms. Song Shuhua was arrested in an open market by three officers after 10:00 a.m. on June 16, 2021, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. A police car and a judiciary car went to her home after 11:00 a.m. Officers and agents ransacked the place and arrested her husband, Mr. Li Guolin. The whereabouts of Ms. Song and Mr. Li are unknown.
