(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. I have always remembered my mission to save sentient beings, and I clarify the truth to relatives, friends, neighbors, and the people I meet. The following are a few such stories and some insights that I would like to share.
I was clarifying the truth when I saw three Chinese men smoking in front of a store. I walked over and said to them, “Welcome to Ireland. I am a Falun Gong practitioner.”
After hearing this, the men tried to ignore me for a while. Then one of them said, “Since you practice Falun Gong, show us how you practice.” I put my backpack down and sat on it. I put my legs up into the full lotus position and said, “Please look carefully. This is sitting in the full lotus from the Buddha school.”
I stood up and took out a truth-clarification newspaper. I pointed to a photo of the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident and said, “You have just seen me sitting in the lotus position. Wang Jindong’s legs were not like that. Chinese people say, ‘The layman watches for excitement, the expert sees the insights.’ Take a closer look, Wang Jindong sat completely differently from me.”
The three men started to look at the newspaper carefully.
I continued, “A self-immolation incident is an emergency. Think about it in another way. If you were the person holding a fire blanket, you would cover the burning victim with the blanket right away. How could you hold the fire blanket in your hand and wait for a photo?
“Falun Gong is a practice from the Buddha school and forbids killing. Suicide is also killing and is a sin. The Tiananmen self-immolation was staged to frame Falun Gong! Falun Gong has now spread to more than 100 countries around the world. No other country has had a self-immolation incident. We are Falun Gong practitioners, but there is no place in China for us to speak out. Today, I am spending a few minutes to let you know the truth.”
I asked one of the men, “Are you a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)? He said yes. I asked another man, who said he had joined the Youth League. The third man said he had joined the Young Pioneers. I helped them all quit their memberships and gave them each a newspaper to learn more about Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution.
I took my daughter to “China street” to clarify the truth. There was a playground nearby, and she said she wanted to play there. I hesitated and said, “There are not as many people on the playground as there are on the street.” But I also thought that, since she asked, then why not. I took her to the playground. It happened that two Chinese women were sitting on a bench not far away, feeding their children.
I walked over, clarified the truth to them, and helped them quit their memberships in the CCP organizations. Although they agreed to quit, their attitudes seemed less than hearty. I wanted to tell them more, but seeing that they were focused on feeding their children with their heads down, I thought I should wait until they finished.
I looked around and saw a few Chinese boys playing basketball. When I went over to the basketball court, a young man came over and said to me, “You gave me a booklet last time. Can you give me another copy?” I handed him a copy and he put it in his pocket.
Two other young men also came over and asked me about Falun Gong. I talked to them about the practice. One of them had joined the Youth League in China, and I helped him quit. They then continued playing basketball.
As I walked back over to the bench toward the two women, the first young man suddenly shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” The other two young men also shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” I waved at them and said, “Thank you!”
One of the two women who had been feeding their children said to me, “An Irish woman just asked me what you were doing. I said, ‘She is a person of faith and very good. She is promoting her belief.’”
I said happily, “What you said is really good. Thank you!”
A few years ago, I was out clarifying the truth with a fellow practitioner. We came across a Chinese sports team that was in the area to participate in a competition. There were about 20 people, most of them young boys, and the rest were coaches and staff. I stepped forward to clarify the truth to them, and the fellow practitioner sent forth righteous thoughts beside us.
I saw a young man carrying Clark shoes in his hand and said, “Hello! How nice it is to buy these Clark shoes here! You would have to spend thousands of yuan for such a pair in China! Life in China is really not easy.”
Everyone in the team surrounded me, and most of them were men. I started to feel nervous because I had never spoken in front of so many people! I recalled Master’s teaching:
“In other words, this is something unprecedented. Never since the dawn of time have massive and magnificent changes in the cosmos taken place as they are now with the Fa rectification, and nor were there ever Dafa disciples. Master created this glorious opportunity and has led you to this historical epoch. Strive to spiritually perfect yourselves, do your utmost to show what you are made of as you strive to save all lives, and try to do even better!” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference”)
I enlightened that Master was letting me reach a higher level, and since I was clarifying the truth to so many people, I just tried my best to show the demeanor of a Dafa practitioner. I calmed down and adjusted my state and my thoughts.
I said, “Chinese people are suffering. Nowadays, there is polluted air, tainted food, contaminated water, and even the minimum living conditions are very unsafe. The CCP has carried out many political campaigns since it took power. The victims are our own countrymen.
“Patriotism does not mean loving the Party, and the CCP is not the same thing as China. We are descendants of China, and our Chinese nation has five thousand years of divinely-imparted civilization.
“At this critical moment in history, I hope each of you can make the right choice for your own future. Now, more than 300 million people have withdrawn from the CCP organizations. I hope you will also withdraw from the Party and not become accomplices of the CCP.”
One player clapped his hands and exclaimed, “You spoke so well! We now live in a dire situation.” I saw that everyone had understood me, so I helped them to quit their memberships in the CCP organizations. Eight players agreed to withdraw. The team leader then asked the team to leave for their destination. I followed the team and helped four coaches withdraw.
Through this episode, I enlightened that when Master wants us to reach a higher standard, he will give us courage and wisdom. If we want to do it, we will definitely be able to do it well.
I very much cherish this unprecedented opportunity to cultivate. I am grateful to Master for giving me the opportunity to assist him in Fa-rectification, and for everything that Master has created for me. I will listen to Master, and I firmly believe that I can do better in the future.
