(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Regime has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners for 22 years, using all the state machinery available to them. The pandemic couldn’t stop the Falun Gong practitioners’ resolve to peacefully resist the persecution. Practitioners in Taiwan held candlelight vigils in public areas and even over the Internet to commemorate practitioners who died due to the persecution, and put up truth-clarification banners at 20 landmarks across Taiwan, calling for an end to the persecution. It was awe-inspiring and displayed the power of Falun Dafa.

Attorney Su Youchen, former vice-chairman of the Human Rights Advisory Committee of the President’s Office of the Republic of China and Honorary Chairman of the China Human Rights Association, said that more than 3.87 million people from 37 countries, including about 1.3 million Taiwanese, had co-signed a report calling Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), a criminal for his order of persecuting Falun Gong.
He hopes that people will not forget the original intention of the worldwide effort, continue to work hard, and make the results of the accusation public. He believes that justice will prevail, and by following the Falun Dafa principles “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” the world’s people would live in harmony and peace.
Political leaders and elected officials supported Falun Gong’s appeal to end the persecution.
Vice President of the Legislative Yuan, Tsai Chi-chang
Vice President of the Legislative Yuan, Tsai Chi-chang, believes that Falun Gong practitioners' appeals and protests over the past 22 years have raised awareness of China’s human rights violations, and partially contributed to the recent sanctions of the regime by democratic countries.
He said: “I believe that the world will eventually understand that democracy and freedom are an important universal value, and understand its preciousness. Therefore, if any country, including China [the Communist Party], is violating them, countries believing in the same values throughout the world will not allow human rights abuse in China to worsen.”
He urged the CCP to stop the persecution of Falun Gong, and its violation of human rights as soon as possible.
Chiu Chui-Cheng, Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council
Chiu Chui-Cheng, Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council, said that the CCP used to suppress religious activities in the name of maintaining social stability. “We will once again call on the Beijing government to stop oppressing people [and violating their right to] freedom of belief, and basic human rights. Taiwan will continue to pay attention to the development of religion and human rights in mainland China.”
Member of National Human Rights Commission, Ms. Chi Hui-Jung
Member of the National Human Rights Commission Ms. Chi Hui-Jung said that for 22 years, Falun Gong practitioners have not feared the CCP’s persecution, and have stepped forward to expose the CCP’s cruel actions.
“I think this is a very brave and valuable voice,” she said, “During recent years, the European Parliament and a number of countries worldwide have awakened. Everyone keeps talking about the evil nature of the CCP, and understand that they should put more pressure on China [the Communist Party]. I think this is good and it has brought about some changes within the CCP. Otherwise, that regime would become more and more terrifying and totalitarian.”
Legislator [member of the Legislative Yuan] Chang Liao Wan-chien
“The persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party is already a topic of great international concern.” Taichung City Legislator Chang Liao Wan-chien said that the Chinese Communist Party used shady and cruel methods to persecute human rights lawyers, Falun Gong, and Xinjiang Uighurs. Many Chinese have a deep understanding. The CCP can no longer [as the saying goes] “wrap the fire with paper,” and its international image is negative.
He said, “I admire Falun Gong practitioners who continue to persist in their faith, and endure strong pressure under the CCP’s totalitarian state. I think countries in the world that value democracy should give their support.”
Mr. Kuo Ying-yi, Deputy Chief Executive, Eastern Taiwan Joint Services Center of Executive Yuan
Mr. Kuo, expressed condolences to Falun Gong practitioners and their families who have been persecuted by the CCP over the years. He expressed his admiration for Falun Gong practitioners’ perseverance, which had been instrumental to successfully expose the brutal nature of the CCP to the world. “On the eve of the 22nd anniversary, my highest tribute to Falun Gong practitioners worldwide and especially those in China.”
Legislator Tsai Shih-Ying said that for many years the European countries doubted what Falun Gong practitioners said about the Communist Party because they couldn’t believe there could be such an autocratic government. The recent happenings in Hong Kong and Xinjiang awakened them. “It turns out that the accusations made by Falun Gong practitioners are true.” He said, “Thanks to Falun Gong for their long-term efforts to let more people know the truth.”
Zhang Jinhua, Chairman of Taiwan Falun Dafa Society
Zhang Jinhua, Chairman of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Society, said, “We want to make sure that people realize that the CCP is not equal to China; there will be a peaceful China without CCP tyranny! The CCP is the oppressor, and the Chinese people are all victims. Only when the CCP is disintegrated, can the Chinese people have a peaceful future and can restore their traditional culture. The world will have a peaceful future without the threat of the CCP.”
She called on the Chinese people and the world to be open-minded, to understand Falun Gong, and to recognize the evil nature of the CCP. She also reminded those who are still serving the CCP, and continue to persecute the Chinese people, to awaken their conscience, not be accomplices of the killing regime, and build a kind and peaceful future for themselves and the next generation.
