(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 46 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Ms. Wang Caiyun Submitted to Procuratorate

Ms. Wang Caiyun, 67, was arrested by officers from the Longfeng Police Station in the Dongzhou District on the morning of September 15, 2020, for talking about Falun Gong to people in Talian Market. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Wang received the notice of prosecution from the procuratorate on April 23, 2021. She went to the Longfeng Police Station on the morning of May 21, 2021, and talked to officer Zhao Xinglong who was originally in charge of her case. Zhao told her that the criminal division was in charge of her case. She went to the police department and was told that her case was submitted to the procuratorate and they were no longer in charge of it.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Wu Xi Missing

Wu Xi (gender unknown) was last seen near the No.1 Department Store of Harbin City on the morning of May 20, 2021. 

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Officer Xue Yuan and others from the Xing’an Police Station in the Yuhua District recently harassed several practitioners in Xiaoxizhang Village including Ms. Gao Suqin, Ms. Feng Fengxin, Ms. Zhao Jinxian, and Ms. Li Baorong. The practitioners were asked whether they still practiced Falun Gong and they were photographed. 

Before that, village official Zhang Jianyue made harassing calls to the practitioners' family members. Zhang pressured them to sign a guarantee statement on behalf of the practitioners but warned them not to tell them. 

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Eight practitioners from Kangping County were arrested by officers from the Erniu Police Station, the Zhenbei Police Station, and the Guangdong Police Station on the afternoon of May 17, 2021. They are Mr. Li Manxin, Ms. Sun Fenghua, Mr. Chen Zhilei and his wife Ms. Bi Yingzi, Mr. Fu Lixin, Li Lijie (gender unknown), and Ms. Wang Haizhou. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their computers and any items related to Falun Gong from Mr. Fu Lixin’s home. In Li Lijie’s home, they confiscated a photo of Falun Gong's founder, Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, computer, and other personal belongings.

Mr. Huang Jundong was arrested in the field by several plainclothes officers on the morning of May 18, 2021. His home was ransacked. The police did not find anything in his home. 

It is learned that Li Lijie and Ms. Wang Haizhou are detained in the Kangping County Detention Center. Ms. Sun Fenghua has been released. Mr. Li Manxin was released on 4000 yuan bail pending trial because of his health. 

5. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Persecuted

Mr. Hong Haihua 64, from Shadui Town, was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan on May 3, 2021. He is currently incarcerated in Fanjiatai Prison, Shayang County. 

Ms. Kong Xiaohong, over 60, was arrested on May 7, 2021, and was detained in the detention house for five days. 

Retired doctor Ms. Ge Xiyuan, over 60, was harassed in 2021 and was forced to sign a statement. 

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Guangzhen Arrested

Ms. Chen Guangzhen, 72, was arrested by officers from the Xima Street Police Station in Jiang’an District around May 20, 2021. She was taken to a brainwashing center. Further details are unknown.

7. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xie Yuqin and Ms. Zhao Xiuxiang Arrested or Harassed

Ms. Xie Yuqin was arrested at home by officers from the Damou Police Station on May 7, 2021. She was released three days later and was placed under six-month home surveillance. 

Ms. Zhao Xiuxiang from Zhaojiazhuang Village was harassed at home by six officers from the Jinggou Town Police Station around 3 a.m. on May 21, 2021. They searched her home and confiscated a media player. Further details are unknown. 

8. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Lu Mengjun Sentenced to Seven and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Lu Mengjun, in her 50s, was arrested in June 2020. Her home was ransacked. She has been held in the detention center since then and her family has not been allowed to visit her. When she was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison on April 28, 2021, her family was not informed. Ms. Lu is currently incarcerated in Changsha Women’s Prison. 

9. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Ms. Huang Chunlan and Ms. Li Ailian Arrested

Ms. Huang Chunlan and Ms. Li Ailian was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and were arrested by officers including Zhen Jiangong from the Yancheng Police Department on the afternoon of May 20, 2021. Ms. Huang is currently detained in the Yancheng Brainwashing Center. It is unknown where Ms. Li is detained.

10. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Mr. Yin Yanguang's Home Raided

Mr. Yin Yanguang from Mapaoquan Town recently had his home ransacked. His Dafa books were confiscated.

11. [Chongqing] Ms. Xu Xiaoqin and Mr. Long Jiamu Persecuted

It is learned that Ms. Xu Xiaoqin from Yongchuan District has been detained in the Yongchuan District Detention Center for about a month.

Mr. Long Jiamu from Yongchuan District was threatened before May 13, 2021, and was placed under long-term home surveillance. 

12. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Ye Youqing Arrested and Detained

Ms. Ye Youqing, over 60, was arrested on May 15, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the detention center on May 16, 2021.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Lu Jin Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Lu Jin was taken from his workplace to a brainwashing center by officers from the Dazhi Street Police Station and staff members from the Dazhi Community at noon on May 20, 2021. 

14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Sujun Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Sujun from Luannan County was arrested on May 12, 2021. Her home was ransacked. She was detained in the Luannan County Detention House for 10 days and was released on the morning of May 23, 2021. 

15. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Yang Shumei Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yang Shumei, over 60, from the Zhuanghe District was arrested and held in the Dalian Detention Center.

16. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Cheng Harassed

Mr. Liu Cheng lives in Hounihe Village, Yang Township. He was harassed by officers from the Qianyang Police Station on May 21, 2021. The officers asked whether he still practiced Falun Gong. They confiscated two media players and three copies of Zhengjian Weekly and tore off the New Year poster from the wall. They put these things together and took a photo. They also photographed Mr. Liu.

17. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Luo Zhihui Harassed

Ms. Luo Zhihui's family member received a harassing call from the Shangzhuang Town Government Office on the afternoon of May 20, 2021. The person on the phone asked whether Ms. Luo still practiced Falun Gong and insisted that she must write a guarantee statement otherwise they would come to her home.

18. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Xiaozhen Arrested

Ms. Huang Xiaozhen from Xingning District was arrested at her home by officers from the Xingning Police Department on May 20, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Further details are unknown.

19. [Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Hongjuan Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Hongjuan in her 50s is a teacher in No.1 Middle School in Xiedian Town, Wanrong County. She was taken from school by Zhang Weihong from the Wanrong County Political and Legal Affairs Committee on May 6, 2021. Her home was ransacked on May 8, 2021. Her personal belongings including her computer, cell phone, and some Dafa books were confiscated. Ms. Zhang was detained in the brainwashing center for over 20 days. 

20. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yao Guihua and Ms. Zhou Lizhi Arrested

Ms. Yao Guihua and Ms. Zhou Lizhi from Lingzi Town, Zichuan District were arrested by officers from the Shangjia Police Station in Wenchanghe District on the morning of May 12, 2021. They were taken to the hospital for physical examinations. They were photographed and gave their fingerprints in the police station. They were released that afternoon. 

Ms. Yao and Ms. Zhou were taken to the Zibo City Detention Center by officers from the Lingzi Town Police Station on May 18, 2021. 

21. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Huaxiu Arrested

Ms. Li Huaxiu gave a booklet to a young man on the afternoon of May 15, 2021. That man reported her to the police and Ms. Li was arrested by officers from the Hutian Police Station. Ms. Li was released around 9 p.m., that night.

22. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Fenghua and Ms. Song Jianlan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Fenghua and Ms. Songn Jianlan from Chongli District were arrested by plainclothes officers for distributing peace cards. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their Dafa books, the peace cards, a couplet, a desktop calendar, and a poster on the wall from Ms. Zhang’s home. They confiscated Dafa books, peace cards, weekly magazines, etc. from Ms. Song Jianlan’s home. The two practitioners were taken to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center on the afternoon of May 22, 2021.

23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tian Yinghui Arrested

Ms. Tian Yinghui was harassed at her workplace by five people at the beginning of May 2021. She was pressured to sign the three statements. She was threatened and told she would be taken to a brainwashing center if she refused. 

To avoid further persecution, Ms. Tian left her home and rented a place to stay. However, her car was followed and the police found her new place. She was arrested at the gate of the residential community around 5 or 6 p.m. on May 22, 2021. She was taken to the nearby Jinyinhu Police Station first and was transferred to an unknown location around 8 p.m. Her whereabouts are currently unknown. 

24. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Xiuwen Harassed

Ms. Liu Xiuwen in her 80s was harassed at home by four women from the Tashui Community Office on May 11, 2021. One of them tried to photograph Ms. Liu but she stopped her.

25. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Guishu Harassed and Arrested

Ms. Yang Guishu was harassed by three men and one woman from the Peihua Road Community in late April 2021. They threatened her and said that if she refused to give up Falun Gong, her son and her grandson would be implicated and they would have trouble in school, joining the military, or employment. 

Twelve people came to Ms. Yang’s home on the morning of May 18, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated all her Dafa books, the photo of Falun Gong's founder, CDs including her grandson’s school-learning CDs, and anything related to Falun Gong. 

Ms. Yang and her husband were taken to the Mengzhuiwan Police Station after her home was ransacked. They interrogated Ms. Yang and asked several questions such as when she practiced Falun Gong, whether she donated money to Falun Gong, etc. The couple was released after 7 p.m., that evening. 

26. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Shucui Arrested

Ms. Liu Shucui talked to people about Falun Gong and posted informational stickers in Dongquti Village, Pingshan Town on the afternoon of May 11, 2021. She was reported to police by a village official. Four officers from the Chengguan Police Station came and arrested her. They followed her to her home that night and ransacked it. They confiscated around 50 Dafa books, lecture CDs, a laptop, a printer, a media player, a box of A4 paper, etc. 

27. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xu Zhangqing and His Son Taken to Shayang Prison

Mr. Xu Zhangqing was sentenced to seven years and nine months and his wife Ms. Tu Ailian to seven years by the Anlu City Court on November 26, 2020. Although their son Mr. Xu Gaorui doesn't practice Falun Gong, he was also sentenced to seven years and six months. Each of them was fined 10,000 yuan as well.

The family of three appealed to the Xiaogan Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold their original sentences. The father and son were incarcerated in Shayang Prison in mid-May 2021. Little is known about Ms. Tu's situation.
