(Minghui.org) Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus (coronavirus) outbreak scared people, the residential district where our Fa study group meets has been on lockdown. People have to show their identification as they enter or exit residential areas. Our practitioners tried to receive a pass. Some practitioners passed the entrance easily, because of sending righteous thoughts. All of us agree that we should maintain the group Fa study, no matter how difficult it is – we succeeded.
We study the Fa as one body and share our understandings. We all think that it’s a great opportunity to save sentient beings during the pandemic. So we have been trying different ways, based on our abilities to clarify the truth to sentient beings. Some talk to people face to face, some distribute truth-clarification materials in residential buildings, and some put up truth-clarification posters. I am responsible for printing informational materials. I bought another printer to meet the supply as I wanted to not lose any time. Everyone is eager to awaken the conscience of people, nobody wants to miss this opportunity, and practitioners have cooperated very well.
In our Fa study group, a practitioner in her 70s developed symptoms of herpes zoster (shingles) due to her emotional attachment to her daughter. She looked inward based on the Fa and refused her daughters’ demand of going to a hospital for treatment. She returned to her home alone and told Master that she would do the three things well. A fellow practitioner in our group went to her home to study the Fa and send righteous thoughts. It was difficult to concentrate on Fa study due to the pain. In the meantime, she strengthened her Fa study, did more of the exercises, and increased the time to send righteous thoughts. She didn’t consider herself a patient no matter how much pain she felt. Therefore, she quickly recovered. Even her daughters said that Dafa is amazing.
Then, there is another practitioner in her 70s. She found it difficult to read the Fa due to her poor eyesight. We increased the time for Fa study and sharing with her to help her overcome the tribulation. She is trying her best to do the three things well. One day, community social workers came to her home, when some practitioners were studying the Fa in her home. Her husband tried to protect them, so he blocked the door, and told them she was not home. Then he went with the social workers and signed his name as requested. When he returned home and told his wife what he did she was shocked and felt as if something blocked her heart. She told her husband that nobody could make such a decision for her. She needed to tell them on her own when they came again.
Then the social workers returned. She told them that her husband’s signature didn’t count. It would be harmful for him as well as the social workers. The social workers then asked her to sign. She told them that she can’t sign as it would be harmful to her and their families. We are saving people and can’t do such harmful things. In the end, the social workers told her to calm down, and that she did not need to sign. They left and never returned.
She told us that the thing that was stuck in her heart disappeared all at once, after they left. She didn’t validate herself, did not complain nor accuse them either. She didn’t think about the results, and therefore she didn’t hold any fear. Her compassion naturally developed. This is true compassion from the heart.
In April of 2019, we were reported and arrested when clarifying the truth with other practitioners. Under Master’s protection, I was released on bail for suffering from an illness and asked to be on call whenever the police called me. Then, I refused to go to the police station, although police officers called me many times.
However, in May 2020, police officers came to look for me and harass my family members, while everyone was busy clarifying the truth. They even went to my son’s and my two daughter’s home, ransacked their homes, and made a mess. They told my family that I was wanted nationally, and there was no place where I could hide. Thus, my family was scared and gave me many suggestions. I knew that I should not listen to them, so I asked fellow practitioners to send righteous thoughts.
Master said, “…just by remaining unmoved you could handle all situations.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Canada Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. V)
I should not run away and hide, I should just stay home, study the Fa, and send righteous thoughts. In the meantime, I looked inward and printed the truth-clarification material as usual. I told my family that I have Master to protect me and that I am not afraid of anyone. Gradually, my family calmed down, and no longer offered any suggestion.
Through looking inward, I understood that I had been in fear since I was arrested in 2019. My attachment to fear caused the interference from the evil. Through Fa study, I came to realize that any tribulation is a cultivation process for practitioners. This process is to test how much I believe in Master and the Fa. The evil factor took advantage of my fear and set up this tribulation for me to prevent me from awakening the conscience of people. They want to see if I can remember I am a Dafa practitioner when encountering tribulations. If one considered oneself a true Dafa practitioner, any tribulations can be overcome.
This tribulation was resolved in the end. As an ordinary person it is not going to work to judge cultivators using ordinary human principles. There will be big troubles and pressure when looking at problems from the human point of view. For cultivators, it is a process of testing one’s xinxing. As long as your xinxing level meets the standard that you are supposed to reach, Master will protect you, and any tribulation, no matter how big, will be resolved.
I feel that amazing things happened to me. It is just like Master said, “I am rooted in the universe. If anyone could harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
Depending on how our hearts are moved, real things are done by Master.
My son renovated his house beautifully but did a poor job of renovating my house. I was kind of jealous and complained about my son to my husband.
Master said,
“Everyday people have their pursuits, and we don’t seek them. As for what everyday people have, we also aren’t interested. Yet what we have is something that everyday people cannot obtain, even if they want to.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)
I knew I was wrong as soon as my husband said so. So I hurriedly changed my words and told him that I was just saying so, but did not pursue these things. In fact, I also developed resentment in my heart. My husband asked me to look inward and check my thoughts, as I wouldn’t say such words if I didn’t even have this thought.
I was touched by my husband’s words. I haven’t let go of my human thoughts at the root and still long for those things that ordinary people pursue. Isn’t everything about ordinary people selfishness?
Master said,
“I also want to tell you that your nature in the past was actually based on egotism and selfishness. From now on, whatever you do, you should consider others first, so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism. So from now on, whatever you do or whatever you say, you must consider others—or even future generations—along with Dafa’s eternal stability.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
We must let go of the attachment of selfishness before eliminating the resentment. It's hard to develop resentment if you are selfless. Selfishness is the root of all human attachments, and we must pull the roots out completely.
Master said,
“I think that my time for teaching the Fa has virtually come to a close. Therefore, I want to leave genuine things for everyone so that there is the Fa to guide everyone in future cultivation.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)
Master already gave us the best things. Why should we hold on tight to dirty things? Do you want to return home with Master?
In the past, I didn’t know how to cultivate, couldn’t peacefully study the Fa, and therefore the Fa principles were not revealed to me. Now, due to memorizing the Fa, Master often enlightened me with the Fa principles. I really feel wonderful. This is how I have improved due to memorizing the Fa. I know other Dafa practitioners might have known this for a long time. But, I did not realize it until falling many times.
I have wasted so much time these years due to my poor enlightenment quality. I must seize the last precious time to cleanse myself and cultivate myself into the kind of Dafa practitioner that Master wants: “….attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
I must help more sentient beings with compassion, and cultivate more diligently.
