1. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Fen Tried

Ms. Yu Fen, about 66, from the Maojian District, was tried by the Maojian District Court on May 13, 2021.

Ms. Yu was sent to forced labor for two years in 2001 and sentenced to prison with three years of probation in 2010.

In mid-September 2020, Ms. Yu was reported to the police for posting self-adhesive stickers with Falun Gong content along Tianjin Road. She was arrested at home the following day by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station led by deputy head Chang Wu of the Maojian District Domestic Security Division. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books, DVDs, audio players, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Yu was taken to the police station, where she was interrogated for a day. Ms. Yu was frightened and her blood pressure reached over 200. After her son heard what happened, he took her to the hospital for treatment.

Ms. Yu’s case was turned over to the Maojian District Procuratorate on December 18, 2020.

2. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

A number of Falun Gong practitioners were arrested again in several districts in Tangshan City on May 12, 2021. At present, over 20 practitioners have been arrested or their homes have been ransacked.

The Zhuoyu Photographic Equipment Store was ransacked and several employees were arrested at noon on May 12. Mr. Zhang Shuangyong was arrested by officers from the police station where he lives. The legal representative of the store was arrested at his aunt’s home by six police officers in Lunan District.

Mr. Zhang Wei was arrested and his printer, printed materials, and U discs were confiscated. Guo Yanju, Sun Baifeng, Meng Xiuxin (their genders are unknown), and Dong Boling (non-practitioner) were also arrested. Ms. Shan Huanrong was arrested at home in the Donggang area and was taken to the Shuiwuzhuang Police Station.

Ms. Shan and Meng were taken to the hospital for physical examinations. Both practitioners failed the exam and were denied admission by the detention center. They finished filling out paperwork and waited to be picked up by their families.

Mr. Yang Guoguang and his wife from Hancheng Town and Dong Jinping (gender unknown) from Songgezhuang Township were arrested. Ms. Wu was arrested and her home was ransacked. Ms. Niu’s home was ransacked.

3. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Zhong Xianwen Arrested

Zhong Xianwen (gender unknown), 62, was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials between April 28 and April 29, 2021. Zhong was arrested. It is not clear where he/she is being held.

4. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Aihua and Daughter Harassed

Officers Yu and Wei, from the Shuangqing District Domestic Security Division, and director Mo from the Qiaotou Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Aihua’s home and harassed her and her daughter around 4 p.m. on May 14, 2021. They said, “If you live in my jurisdiction and bring us trouble, we will come after you every day.”

5. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wei Yongzhen Detained Again

Ms. Wei Yongzhen was reported to the police for distributing cards with a QR code for unrestricted Internet access in front of a supermarket on May 10, 2021. She was arrested by Zhao Chunsong, head of the Fangzheng County Domestic Security Division, and two other people.

Zhao contacted the police in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Three officers came from Tangshan, and took Ms. Wei from Fangzheng County back to Tangshan for detention. From 1999 to 2018, Ms. Wei lived in Tangshan.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Jing and Her Mother Harassed

Ms. Chen Jing and her mother took the high-speed rail to Yanji City for sight seeing on May 12, 2021. Train officer Zhang went directly to their seats to check their national ID cards. When Ms. Chen asked why, Zhang said that she practiced Falun Gong.

Ms. Chen and her mother returned to the Changchun Station on May 14. They were body-searched by two station officers as soon as they got off the train. The officers saw the words “Falun Dafa is good” written on a two-yuan bill and took them to the station’s public security duty room.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Liu Shangyu Arrested

Over 10 officers from the Yutian County Police Department and the director of the Woluogu Town Police Station went to the home of Liu Shangyu (gender unknown) on May 12, 2021. They videotaped and ransacked the place. They confiscated dozens of Falun Dafa books and Minghui Weekly publication. Liu was taken to the police station for interrogation, and returned home at around 5 p.m.

8. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Qiao Rongduan Arrested

Ms. Qiao Rongduan, 57, from Jizhou District, Hengshui City, Hebei Province, was arrested in Lanxi City, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province around May 14, 2021, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

9. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Zhijun Faces Trial

Ms. Zhou Zhijun was scheduled to be tried on May 18 by the Xixiu District Court.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Qinggui Harassed

Eight or nine officers from the Beidawangzhuang Police Station, Gaomi City, broke into Ms. Sui Qinggui’s home around 8 p.m. on May 12, 2021. As soon as they entered the room, they started recording with their cell phones. One of them wanted to search the room but Ms. Sui stopped him.

The officers took Ms. Sui’s daughter-in-law to the police station and asked how many people recently came to their home. She was released around 9:30 p.m.

11. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Aidi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Aidi was arrested by officers from the Baiguantun Town Police Station, Fengrun District, on July 3, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a large number of personal belongings.

Ms. Wang was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 3,000 yuan by the Zunhua City Court on November 19, 2020. Her family did not know where she was held.

In April 2021, Ms. Wang’s family learned that she was held in the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center. After a practitioner who was detained with Ms. Wang was released, she sent a message to Ms. Wang’s family that she was transferred from the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison on April 18.

12. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Junyong and He Jianye Arrested

Mr. Zhang Junyong and He Jianye (gender unknown) were arrested in mid-April 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center.

13. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Suying, in Her 80s, Harassed

Five officers from the Sahe Police Station in Qianxi County, led by the village Party secretary, went to the home of Ms. Liu Suying, who was over 80 years old, in Daguanzhuang Village on April 23, 2021. They pressured her to give up practicing Falun Gong and videotaped her. They also said that after they left, she could do any exercises she wanted.

14. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

In early May 2021, various police stations and communities in Hantai District, Hanzhong City, cooperated with local 610 Office personnel to harass Falun Gong practitioners at their homes.

They broke into practitioners’ homes and asked them if they still practiced Falun Gong. They pressured practitioners to sign statements to give up their practice.

Practitioners known to have been harassed are: Fang Suyu, Wang Xueqin, Sang Xiuling, Xiao Fenglian, Tu Baohui, Yu Feng’e, Zhang Suping, Chen Baohan, Zhao Wenling, Wen Mingfang, and Wu Zhizhen.

Some practitioners were harassed over the phone, and others were told to go to the community office.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Che Pingping’s Eye Injured Due to Persecution; Family Harassed

Ms. Che Pingping, a university teacher with a Master’s Degree in education from Northeast Normal University, was twice sentenced and sent to Jilin Province Women’s Prison.

She insisted on practicing Falun Gong in prison and refused to “transform”. She wrote a letter of complaint about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the No. 8 Ward. She also spoke up for the rights of other practitioners in the ward.

Ms. Che was sprayed with chili water several times by former head of the ward Ni Xiaohong and prison guard Gao Yang. They aimed at her eyes when spraying for a long time. They prevented her from washing her eyes after spraying, and immediately locked her up in solitary confinement, which was littered with trash. As a result, Ms. Che’s eyes were severely damaged and her vision was blurred, eventually leading to retinal detachment in her right eye.

As part of the “zero-out” campaign, Qian Wei, the current head of the ward, escalated the persecution. Ms. Che has now almost completely lost sight in her right eye.

Ms. Che was released from prison on March 25, 2021. Over the years of persecution, her parents have passed away under harassment and in distress. She is unmarried and temporarily lives with her younger sister, who is her only relative. She only lived there for a month, but her sister and brother-in-law were constantly harassed.

Ms. Che’s family received a phone call from a stranger on April 13, saying that the Audit Bureau staff members would come to their home for population registration. When they came and knocked on the door Ms. Che’s family firmly told them to leave.

On May 13, 2021, officer Xu Baoquan phoned again and said, “Today is Falun Dafa Day, and Che Pingping is still in your home. I have to go to your home for a follow-up visit and registration.” Xu said he wanted to talk to Ms. Che, but Ms. Che’s family prevented him from seeing her.

16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yongshan Detained for Ten Days

Mr. Wang Yongshan from the Huaiyin District was reported to the police by a residential community security guard for distributing Falun Gong materials on June 14, 2020. He was arrested and his home ransacked. He was taken to Baimashan Sub-district, Shizhong District, to have fingerprints and blood samples collected. At the same time, he was forced to resign his job.

On April 10, 2021, an officer from the Duanbei Police Station, Huaiyin District, called Mr. Wang and asked him to be ready to take phone calls at any time.

On April 14, an officer from the police station called again and asked him to go to the police station at 7 a.m. the following day. Mr. Wang arrived at the police station at 7 a.m. the next morning and his personal freedom was restricted.

The officers took Mr. Wang to the Jinan No. 5 Hospital for a physical exam and then back to the residential surveillance quarters of the police station. Mr. Wang was taken to the Jinan City Detention Center in Zhonggong Town at 7 p.m. for 10 days of detention. He did not return home until 10 days later at past 8 a.m. on April 25. As a result, Mr. Wang lost his job again.

17. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pan Haoqiu Arrested

Xiao Changjun, the village security director of the Pingshan Village, received a call from the Ping’ancheng Police Station on the morning of May 2, 2021. Xiao was asked to take a few people to Ms. Pan Haoqiu’s home. Ms. Pan did not open the door.

More than twelve officers brought a ladder and broke into Ms. Pan’s house. They began taking photographs as soon as they entered the house, and then they ransacked the place. They confiscated her personal belongings including photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books including Master’s lectures given in various places, MP3s, a printer, a paper cutter, A4 printer paper, and a laptop. Ms. Pan was arrested around 5 a.m.

18. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Song Guangying received a phone call in March 2021 from a Hexing Community Management Office employee, who told her to go to the Jianshan District government. Ms. Song firmly refused to comply. The following day, Li Dong, the director of the management office, called Ms. Song again and told her to go to the community office. She did not cooperate. In August 2020, members of the community office asked Ms. Song’s son to sign the “Basic Information Form for ‘Transformation’ of Members of Falun Gong” without her knowledge.

Qi Ming, a residential officer from the Xiangyang Police Station, and a staff member of the community went to Ms. Fan Lijuan’s home around 7 a.m. on April 23, 2021. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Fan clarified the truth to them without opening the door.

Mr. Liu Yujin received a phone call on April 8, 2021. He was told to go to the Fudixuan Community office. In August last year, staff members from the Longxiang Residential Community Management Office went to Mr. Liu’s home and forced him and his wife Ms. Guo Fengqin to sign three statements.

In April 2021, the son of Ms. Zhou Huifang (near 80 years old) also received a phone call. The family of Ms. Liu Feng’e in Jianshan District was also harassed over the phone by community management staff in April.

Sun Min, Fu Xiufen, and Wu Yuexia (genders unknown) in the Shuangyashan Education System have also been harassed.
