A message from Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty of the Province of Saskatchewan
The Lieutenant Governor stated in his message, “My thanks to members of the Falun Dafa community in Saskatchewan for contributing to a more harmonious society. As well, thank you for sharing your meditation practices to help others manage the additional stress caused by the challenges of the past year.”
Letter from Laura Ross, Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport.
Minister Ross stated in her letter, “The Falun Dafa celebration is an opportunity to recognize the spiritual and enduring teachings that convey universal principles of openness, truthfulness, compassion and tolerance in Saskatchewan and around the world.
“Thank you for continuing to promote spiritual, mental, moral and physical well-being within our society through the teaching of Falun Dafa.”
Letter from Cathay Wagantall, Member of Parliament (MP)
MP Cathay Wagantall stated in her letter, “Despite every effort by the oppressive Chinese regime to stifle the growth of Falun Dafa within its borders and to intimidate practitioners elsewhere around the world, the core human values of peace, tolerance and harmony continue to form the foundation of its teachings.
“The persecution and marginalization of Falun Dafa practitioners reminds us that many believers in the world face tremendous danger because of their beliefs.
“The peaceful practice of one’s personal beliefs – religious or not – is a fundamental human right. Those who believe in the core values of Falun Dafa must have the right to practice and promote its teachings without fear of persecution.
“On this Falun Dafa Day and beyond, I continue to stand with you for the religious freedom you deserve.”
Certificate of Recognition from MP Warren Steinley
MP Warren Steinley issued a certificate of recognition: “I am pleased to recognize and celebrate the many contributions made by Falun Dafa community. I commend the efforts of the Falun Dafa Association of Canada in sharing this beneficial practice.”
Video from MP Marty Morantz for Winnipeg
MP Marty Morantz sent a video greeting: “I want to wish you all a happy Falun Dafa Day. It’s been a very difficult year with many challenges. I know that not being able to celebrate this important day with other Falun Gong practitioners in person on Parliament Hill isn’t our first choice.
“However, the resilience and compassion that you all show every day is needed now more than ever during these dark days. Although this has been a very difficult year, Falun Gong practitioners are sadly far too experienced in dealing with challenging times. No one should ever be persecuted for the beliefs they follow.
“I stand with you against the human rights violations committed by the Chinese Communist Party against Falun Gong practitioners. As you come together today, I hope this virtual celebration of Falun Dafa Day brings you hope for brighter days ahead.”
Video from Dijieet Brar, Member of the Saskatchewan Assembly
Dijieet Brar, Member of the Saskatchewan Assembly for Winnipeg, said in his video, “I wish to all those celebrating a very happy Falun Dafa Day. Falun Dafa is practiced in so many countries by the people from various cultural backgrounds. Today, let’s stand together and commit with ourselves that we would promote truthfulness and compassion. And further, let’s commit that we would stand against all kinds of intolerance, hatred, and bullying. Once again, Happy Falun Dafa Day 2021.”
