(Minghui.org) May 13, 2021, was the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day and the 29th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction. Elected officials sent proclamations, letters, and videos to honor the occasion. In all, the Falun Dafa Association of Canada received 137 forms of recognition, including proclamations, letters, videos, flag raising, and light displays.
The elected officials hailed from all ten of Canada’s provinces, including the mayors of six capital cities or city councils (Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Victoria, and Ottawa) and two governors.
Nearly 100 Members of the Canadian Parliament and Members of the Provincial Parliament of the Conservative Party, Liberal Party, New Democratic Party, Green Party, and Blue Party sent letters or videos. They commended the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and recognized Falun Dafa practitioners’ contributions to society. They also condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of the practice.

Letter from MPP Michael Mantha of Ontario for Algoma-Manitoulin
MPP Michael Mantha stated in his letter, “I bring to you greetings as we celebrate Falun Dafa Day, here in Canada and around the world. Falun Dafa promotes the guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.”
Letter from MPP Rudy Cuzzetto of Ontario for Mississauga-Lakeshore
MPP Rudy Cuzzetto wrote in his letter, “Thank you to the Falun Dafa Association of Toronto, for your efforts to create a vibrant and rich display of Chinese culture, and for your hard work in highlighting years of Chinese tradition and history.
“Your work of spreading Falun Gong traditions in Ontario for the last 29 years has provided Ontarians strong morals and values, especially during these difficult times.
“Falun Dafa practitioners actively promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all members of our diverse society. These teachings greatly contribute to the advancement of all Ontarians.”
Letter from Mayor Daniel Conway of the Town of St. George’s
Mayor Daniel Conway stated in his letter, “This special celebration is a great opportunity to recognize the enduring teachings of Falun Dafa which promotes the universal principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. We are proud to know that Canada is home to a thriving Falun Dafa community and the Town of St. George’s is equally proud to celebrate this anniversary with you.”
Proclamation of Falun Dafa Day from Mayor Nancy Dicks of the Town of New Glasgow
The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa has helped to preserve human traditions including honesty, courtesy, loyalty and unselfishness.
“Falun Dafa has additionally benefited millions of people by aiding them in leading a more productive and unmitigated lifestyle dedicated to the pursuit of meaningful existence and peaceful self-improvement.”
