Letter to the Editor: Nanning Prison Hospital Adds Toxic Drugs to Falun Gong Practitioner’ Meals

May 28, 2021

(Minghui.org) Editor’s note: While being incarcerated for their faith in various detention facilities in China, many Falun Gong practitioners are subjected to the involuntary administration of toxic drugs, some of which are directly injected while others added to practitioners’ food. As a result of the drug administration, some practitioners suffered mental disorders and some became disabled. Below is a letter submitted by a concerned citizen in China, whose relative witnessed the drug administration of a Falun Gong practitioner.

Every time when my relative visited me, she kept talking about the addition of toxic drugs to a Falun Gong practitioner’s food. She is truly bothered, having witnessed it first hand. When she visited me recently, she brought it up again. I felt I could no longer stay silent. Through this letter, I hope to expose the hidden crimes against Falun Gong practitioners detained for their faith.

My relative was admitted to the Nanning Prison Hospital in Guangxi Province in 2012. She stayed in the same room as a Falun Gong practitioner of Guangxi in her 60s. Because that practitioner refused to renounce Falun Gong, the prison guards took her to the hospital and tied her up in a spread-eagle position in the bed. To protest the persecution, the practitioner often shouted “Falun Dafa is good!” When the nurse gave her medicine or tried to do IV drips to her, she always rejected it.

Later on, the inmates assigned by the prison guards to monitor the practitioner ground the medicine into powder and added it to her meal. After having the meal, this practitioner began to feel sleepy and exhausted. She kept saying to herself, “How come I’m so sleepy now and lack energy? Why do I feel so uncomfortable and my memory is beginning to decline?”

My relative witnessed it, but the inmates threatened her that she wasn’t allowed to tell it to the practitioner.

Feeling sympathetic to the practitioner, my relative often shared some fruits with her. She kindly rejected them and thanked my relative. She told my relative about the persecution and my relative said she knew about it, because her sister-in-law also practices Falun Gong.

My relative also told me that when the hospital leadership came to inspect the rooms, the inmates increased the amount of drug added to the practitioner, in order to prevent her from shouting “Falun Dafa is good!”

It’s unbelievable what the Chinese prisons are doing to these elderly women, just because they were afraid of them shouting “Falun Dafa is good!” Every time when my relative thought of this, she felt sad and outraged.
