(Minghui.org) I have practiced Falun Dafa for over 20 years, and am a high school teacher. At the beginning of 2020, the sudden outbreak of the pandemic disrupted everyone's lives. For those in the education sector, the impact was felt acutely in the college entrance exams.
A lady called me explaining that her son would take the college entrance exam, but he lacked good grades. Her niece Teng used to be my student, and recommended me multiple times, so she asked me to help her son.
After answering this call, I remembered Teng. She was not a student in my class, but a student I had tutored after class a few years ago. One month before her college entrance examination, her mother died, which hit her hard. I accompanied her through that difficult time when she was at her loneliest and in much pain. Regarding Teng, there was something that was still bothering me.
All the children I have tutored know the truth about Falun Dafa. They quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. They improved their grades very quickly. They are willing to listen to my lectures, and no longer have an aversion to learning.
In my lectures, I do not just talk about textbook knowledge and problem solving methods, but more importantly, I use the Fa principles to help them assimilate to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and many students were no longer worried.
I also noticed that sometimes students have a cold or cough before the class, or they are not feeling well, but during the class their symptoms would slowly disappear. By the time the class is over, they have recovered.
Master said,
“We teach salvation of both ourselves and others, as well as of all beings. Thus, Falun can save oneself by rotating inward and save others by rotating outward. While rotating outward, it gives off energy and can benefit others. This way, others within the range of your field will benefit and they may feel very comfortable. Whether you are on the street walking, in the workplace, or at home, you can have this effect on others.” (Lecture Three, Zhuan Falun)
Teng is a kind girl, and I have told her the facts about Dafa. But she graduated before I had a chance to ask her about quitting the CCP and its organizations. This has always been a regret for me. Her aunt’s phone call made me feel that I would have the chance to help her quit the CCP. Therefore, even though I had a lot of things to do, I agreed to give free tutoring to her aunt’s son, Chun.
Chun failed the 2019 college entrance exam because he did badly in physics, so this year he took on the subject that I taught instead. He had not studied that subject for two years, and had basically forgotten everything, so he had to start from scratch, and time was very tight.
The pandemic outbreak caused the teaching to shift from the classroom to the Internet. This sudden change in teaching style made it difficult for teachers and students to adapt. The original college entrance exams were scheduled for June, but schools were delayed in starting due to the pandemic, and there was no official statement on the postponement of the college entrance exam, so every senior and parent was anxious. Chun’s mother was even more anxious because as a repeat student of the exam, if he didn’t succeed in the college entrance exam this time, he could not repeat it.
I understood the feeling of being a mother, so I tried to comfort her. I told her that the subject I teach is fine, and the college entrance exam will probably be postponed so she shouldn’t be too anxious, and should not show her anxiety to Chun.
Chun’s mother often called me when she felt anxious, and talked for more than half an hour each time. I listened patiently and used the optimistic attitude of a practitioner to enlighten her, so each time she felt relieved. Later, the time of the college entrance exam was indeed postponed, which reinforced our plan.
But how can we help Chun improve his grades, given the current situation? I was confident, as knowing the truth, quitting the CCP, and getting blessings has proven to be successful more than once. So in my lectures I clarified the facts about Falun Dafa. Chun agreed with me, and he had a clearer understanding of the corruption of the CCP. I also told him the facts about the tyranny of the CCP, how the CCP staged the self-immolation to frame Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa), and the CCP’s state-sanctioned harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He agreed to withdraw from the CCP and its organizations.
For students, a peaceful heart and an optimistic attitude are important factors that affect learning. Faced with the pressure of switching subjects, the threat of the pandemic, the urgency, and this being his last chance at the exams, Chun was under great pressure. Therefore, no matter how poor his knowledge and his test results were, I always encouraged him. In order to eliminate his nervousness about the epidemic, I told him that this was aimed at the CCP. By quitting the Party and sincerely reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good”, there will be no danger. I continued to encourage and comfort him, and we moved forward step by step.
When the scores of the college entrance exam came out, Chun’s mother told me that everyone was very satisfied with the scores. She said she was so grateful and wanted to thank me in person. I knew she wanted to pay me for tutoring her son, but as a Dafa practitioner, I had already taken interest and profit lightly, so earning money wasn’t my intention. It was my wish to give them a chance to understand the truth of Dafa.
I told her that there was no hurry, and that we can have a celebration meal together after Chun was admitted to college. I thought that this would be a better time to talk. Ultimately, Chun got into the university of his choice, and we were all very happy.
I had a simple meal with Chun’s parents, and we had a very good conversation. Both of them are doctors, so we talked a lot about the pandemic, especially two stories about doctors in Wuhan – one was about the “whistle blower” doctor, the other about the miraculous recovery of two infected Wuhan doctors through reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good”. Due to the information blockage in China, they had not heard of that. From that conversation, the subject naturally returned to Dafa.
Chun’s father said he had seen many people practicing Falun Gong before the persecution. They were shocked after I clarified the facts about the staged self-immolation and the forced organ harvesting. I also told them that the divine will destroy the CCP and good people should quit the CCP to avoid the calamity, and they did.
I told them that it is our predestined relationship that we are here together. I cherish this, and I’m not here for the money. Chun’s mother took out an envelope with a thick pile of money from her bag and said, “This was prepared for you in advance, but after listening to your talk, I felt it was an insult to you to give it to you. You are a real teacher!”
She added: “I also let my friend tutor Chun in another subject, but every time he said the child was useless, so much so that it was a painful ordeal for me and Chun to go to him for tutoring! But you are so different. Every time Chun came back from your class he was filled with confidence, and I felt hopeful after every phone call with you. I really thank you! You helped our family tremendously!”
Chun’s mother said her niece Teng would be on summer break in a few days, and she would come to visit me. I knew the regret in my mind was about to be settled, and I was thankful for Master’s compassionate arrangement.
Teng came a few days later. She had become a big girl. I almost didn’t recognize her. She has been studying law and would graduate soon.
After catching up, I talked about her major, “People say that teachers, doctors and judges are the three professions that a society cannot afford to weaken. Teachers teach children to distinguish between good and evil, doctors save lives and judges uphold fairness and justice. If people of these three professions were to worsen, the country would not be a country.
Today’s China is in such a precarious situation. For example, you study law, some judges now say directly that the CCP is the law, and there are judges who knowingly break the law. You know about the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong is legal under current Chinese law. Therefore, many lawyers with a sense of justice defend Falun Gong practitioners’ innocence.”
Teng said she has realized more and more the wickedness of the CCP. The more she studied the legal cases, the more she disliked the environment. To get away from it, she planned to attend graduate school and teach in the future.
I told her I am happy to hear that. I said, “There are just returns for both good and evil. The CCP has killed so many people and there is no rule of law. When people joined the CCP, they all took an oath to dedicate their lives to it, think about it, isn’t that dangerous? So, I hope that you will withdraw from the CCP, and erase the poisonous oath.”
Teng said “Thank you!” and agreed to quit the CCP. I really feel happy from the bottom of my heart.
After Chun received his acceptance letter from the university, his mother wrote to me: “I received my son’s acceptance letter today, and I’m very emotional! We are lucky, because we met you, our family’s savior. You gave us hope.”
This made me think, as well. If I hadn’t practiced Falun Dafa, I would have been blinded by materialistic desires like other teachers; if I hadn’t practiced Falun Dafa, where would I have gotten the peace of mind and wisdom, and how could I have helped you break the maze?
In a sense, I may be a savior in your eyes, but you know what? The real savior is our compassionate Master - Master Li Hongzhi. Maybe in the near future, you will know – the whole world will know!
