(Minghui.org) May 13, 2021 marked the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day and also the 70^th birthday of Falun Dafa’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi. Falun Dafa practitioners around the world held various activities to celebrate the special occasion. Supporters of Falun Dafa also sent in their well wishes.

Daniel Herman, member of Czech Human Rights Council and former Minister of Culture of Czech, sent a congratulatory letter to Mr. Li, thanking him for teaching the universal values of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance and bringing positive light to the world. Herman also wrote that he’d like to help end the persecution of Falun Dafa in China with righteous thoughts.

Below is a translation of his letter.

Your Excellency, Esteemed Teacher Li,

On the occasion of your 70^th birthday, I would like to join the long line of well-wishers to express my best wishes to You and also wish you health of mind and body, and peace of heart.

Through friends from the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, I have had the opportunity to learn about the ideas and cultivation practice of Falun Dafa. I myself subscribe to the Judeo-Christian tradition and the idea of culminating positive energy for the benefit of cultivating the world is very close to my heart. Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance are values that unite people of good will in the most positive spirit of inter faith dialogue and spiritual belonging.

It is a sad fact that, because of their positive attitude toward the world and their sound principles of life, Falun Dafa practitioners still have to face severe persecution in Communist-ruled China. Even my homeland in the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic, has had its own unfortunate experience with the Communist dictatorship. It was the call and desire for freedom and human rights that led to the fall of the communist regime in Europe more than three decades ago. I believe that the people of the great China will also experience the free future that is awaiting them. And the spreading of the message and practice of Falun Dafa will certainly be among the moments that will lead to that goal. Thank You for Your personal contribution to the cultivation of the world, and by sending forth righteous thoughts in this spirit, I join your mission.
