(Minghui.org) As May 13^th World Falun Dafa Day approaches, Falun Dafa practitioners’ over 20 years of persistence in clarifying the truth to people is increasingly recognized and admired by Hong Kong residents. Many current and former legislators or district councilors expressed their thanks to Falun Dafa’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi. They said that they also admire and are touched by the practitioners’ perseverance in abiding by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and contributing to society despite the difficult situation in Hong Kong.

Mr. Fung Chi Wood, Hong Kong Anglican Church pastor and former member of the legislative council, said, “This May 13^th is Falun Dafa Day, and the 29^th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public. It is also Mr. Li Hongzhi’s 70^th birthday. Congratulations!”

Mr. Fung said, “It is not easy—for 29 years, despite suffering from the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party) persecution, Falun Dafa is still flourishing around the world. Millions of people practice Falun Dafa and the practice has made very big contributions to the world. In Hong Kong, especially during these last two difficult years, practitioners have given very big encouragement to the Hong Kong people.”

Hong Kong Tuen Mun district council, Mr. Lo Chun Yu said, “First, I would like to wish Mr. Li Hongzhi an early happy birthday! I am very thankful to Mr. Li and so many Falun Dafa practitioners for continuing to persist in their values amidst this chaotic world. They bring the moral values of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to every corner of the district. As district councilors, we are all full of appreciation and admiration.”

Hong Kong’s former district councilor, Mr. Lim Yong Ran, said, “First, I would like to tell Master to continue staying strong, and to continue staying healthy so that he can bring Falun Dafa to higher heights. Practitioners’ Perseverance Inspires Hong Kong

For nearly two years, Hong Kong has faced the red terror caused by the CCP and many people feel disheartened by the situation. Several Hong Kong residents have remarked that they feel encouraged when they see Falun Dafa practitioners continuing to hand out materials and talking to people on the streets. They admire their persistence and perseverance in adhering to Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Some residents have remarked that seeing practitioners bringing the truth to people rain or shine gives residents hope and encouragement.

Mr. Fung Chi Wood said he admired Falun Dafa practitioners’ persistence for so many years. He hopes that practitioners can continue to persist and gain more people’s understanding and support, even coming to cultivate such a wonderful practice. “I most admire Falun Dafa practitioners’ Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Especially “Tolerance.” Practitioners can really tolerate well. The hardship that you all have suffered will achieve very great meaning and has already made very big contributions to all mankind.”

Mr. Fung said that many residents are slowly seeing the efforts that Falun Dafa practitioners have put in and their persistence to persevere, especially during these two chaotic years. During these two years, the CCP’s persecution is so harsh that many organizations are disbanding one after another and many media firms are now silent on this matter. However, Falun Dafa is still standing as firmly in Hong Kong, as before—there is no sense of cowering from practitioners. Mr. Fung said that Hong Kong residents are full of admiration for practitioners’ courage and determination.

Mr. Fung also said that he was inspired many times by Falun Dafa practitioners, and Falun Dafa’s teachings of, “Not retaliating when being hit and not arguing back when being cursed.”

Mr. Fung said, “Practitioners’ forbearance is not a show of weakness. If everyone retaliates and answers violence with violence, the problem will never be resolved. On the contrary, being tolerant of the other party’s unreasonable deeds will gradually dissipate the conflict and rectify the situation.” Mr. Fung pointed out that using violence to defeat others will result in escalated fights. On the contrary, by tolerating and forbearing the other person’s bad behavior, one can change the situation and change the other party. This is a stronger force and is a more thorough way of resolution.

Hong Kong’s former district councilor, Mr. Lim Yong Ran, said, “Despite the change in the political environment in Hong Kong, through the days, months and years of changes, we can see that Falun Dafa practitioners did not change. We know that Hong Kong residents are in full agreement with Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and their tenacious belief.”
