What Should We Do to Truly Help Persecuted Practitioners’ Family Members?

April 20, 2021 |   By a Falun Dafa Practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) Two local practitioners were arrested last fall. Their family members, who are also Falun Dafa practitioners, have spent nearly half a year trying to rescue them. I’d like to share how their family members have changed during this period.

Alice (pseudonym) had no fear when police and domestic security agents ransacked her home and arrested her and her husband. She was determined to protect Master Li’s photo (the founder) and her Falun Dafa books. As a result of her resistance, the police did not take away the photo or books. While at the police station, she refused to cooperate and answer any of the police officers’ questions or demands, as it was an unlawful arrest. No matter what officers asked or demanded, she responded, “Falun Dafa is Good.”

She sent forth righteous thoughts to make their computer malfunction. It turned out that the computer really stopped working when the officers tried to use it. Alice promptly looked within during the process and corrected herself based on the Fa. She firmly believed that practitioners should not be detained at a police station. She set up a time in her mind when she must go home and asked Master for help. In the end, she was released. After returning home, she immediately started to work on rescuing her husband. She often went to the police station, the police department, and the domestic security department to demand his release.

Jessica (pseudonym) did not resist the persecution with righteous thoughts when police and domestic security agents ransacked her home and arrested her and her husband. Out of fear, she went along with the officers’ and agents’ demands. Both she and her husband were detained. She was released after being held for 15 days. For a period of time, she remained anxious and very scared and often suspected that someone was following her.

Over the next four to five months, some practitioners often stoped by Alice’s home to help her. There was one who asked her to do some tasks and another asked her to participate in a project. There were several practitioners who tried to tell Alice what she should do, leaving her overwhelmed. While rescuing her husband, she had to deal with practitioners’ requests and at the same time take care of her elderly parents who were unable to take care of themselves. After a few months, Alice’s state worsened, and her righteous thoughts and wisdom seemed to be lost.

While practitioners around Jessica did not blame or complain about her, even less did they offer her advice as to what she should do. They just joined Jessica to study a lot of Falun Dafa teachings with a concentrated mind every day. Four or five months have passed and Jessica has changed a lot. Her righteous thoughts have become stronger and stronger while fighting the persecution and rescuing her husband.

Both Alice and Jessica were clarifying the truth and helping Master save people at police stations and legal departments while rescuing their husbands.

Practitioners around Alice only knew to urge Alice to do more. They thought that doing things is cultivating. They did not consider Alice’s family burden and pressure and whether she had time to quietly study the Fa. They were presumptuous and imposed their own ideas on her. They failed to understand Alice’s situation from her perspective and interfered with her; they were indeed not helpful.

Practitioners around Jessica could understand things from her perspective, exercise forbearance, and help her selflessly. They were very clear about the Fa principles, “Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun) Studying the Fa well is the fundamental guarantee for doing things well in Fa-rectification! When we study a lot of Fa with practitioners they are bound to genuinely improve and will be able to successfully rescue their persecuted family members!

I've seen such things and am bringing them up to remind practitioners in similar situations to pay attention. If there is something lacking in my sharing, please correct me.
