(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jiemei Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Jiemei was arrested and taken to the Gaokan Police Station on February 21, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was detained in the No.1 Detention Center of Shenyang City on February 24, 2021. Her lawyer was not allowed to meet her during the quarantine period of 14 days.

2. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Deng Meizhen Arrested

Ms. Deng Meizhen and another practitioner were reported to police by a child’s parent for giving a Falun Gong keepsake to a 12-year-old child in Hongdu Market on February 2, 2021. Six officers from the Hongdu Police Station came and arrested them. They were interrogated and pressured to sign a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong. Ms. Deng’s daughter was called in and signed the guarantee statement under pressure. Both practitioners were detained in the Hongdu Hostel for five days before they were released.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shi Tian Harassed

Ms. Shi Tian is a hospital nurse in Kuancheng District. The Communist Party secretary of her work unit talked to her multiple times in the past month and tried to make her give up her belief in Falun Dafa.

Zhu Jiahui from the Changchun City 610 Office and staff members from the Kaixuan Road Sub-district Office came to her work unit to harass her on the morning of February 27, 2021. Ms. Shi may face further persecution.

4. [Shanghai] Mr. Wang Zuoshan’s Pension Suspended

Mr. Wang Zuoshan had been sentenced to four years in prison and was detained in Tilanqiao Prison from May 7, 2008, to May 6, 2012. He and his family fled China and are now in exile.

Mr. Wang’s pension was suspended on December 12, 2020, by the Jing’an District Branch of the Shanghai Social Security Bureau after being notified by the Jing’an District Court. He was ordered to return the pension payments of about 179,000 yuan that he received during his detention.

5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Fenghua Harassed

Ms. Cao Fenghua was harassed at home by three officers from the Shimenzhai Town Police Station in Haigang District on the morning of February 25, 2021. They tore off the couplet on her door and took away the book Zhuan Falun and other personal belongings.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Xiuhua's Case Filed to Procuratorate

Ms. Zhou Xiuhua was indicted by the Dongxi Lake Procuratorate on December 15, 2020. Recently her case was transferred to the Hanyang Procuratorate.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Mo Jingying Harassed

Ms. Mo Jingying, 74, has been repeatedly harassed by local officials. Three people from the local 610 Office and the Zhongbei Road Community Office came to her home on February 23, 2021. After they failed to make Ms. Mo sign the guarantee statement, they tried to force her husband to sign for her. Her husband drove them out.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Yu Zhanqin Arrested

Ms. Yu Zhanqin from Huairou County was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong on February 10, 2021. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Sunyi Detention Center the next day but was denied admission due to high blood pressure. She returned home.

9. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Wang Shouhao Arrested and Detained

Wang Shouhao (gender unknown) from Laishan District was arrested and taken to Laishan Police Department on the evening of February 1, 2021. Wang’s home was ransacked. Wang has been detained in the Muping Detention Center for nearly one month. Wang’s family members were not allowed to visit Wang.

10. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ai Jinxia Faces Trial

Ms. Ai Jinxia’s case has been transferred to the Qianguo County Court.

11. [Shanghai] Mao Xinmei Arrested and Detained

Mao Xinmei (gender unknown), originally from Yantai City, Shandong Province, currently lives in Tingxin Town, Jiading District, Shanghai. Mao was arrested by officers from the Anting Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong and has been detained in the Jiading Detention Center for one month.
