(Minghui.org) My husband’s eyes were red, as if he had just cried. I asked him: “What’s the matter? What happened?”
He said that he had just received a call from someone in the Civil Administration Bureau in our community, saying that because I practiced Falun Dafa, they would come to our house to settle this matter with me.
I told him it might be the police. I knew the evil party had the so-called “Zero-out Campaign” [a concerted effort to force every single practitioner on the government's black lists to renounce Falun Gong].
They wanted us Falun Dafa practitioners to fill out a form and sign it, to pledge that we would not practice Falun Dafa anymore. For them, it meant to close Falun Dafa matters once and for all.
I said, “What’s to be afraid off? Did he threaten you?” He said no.
I asked: “Then you are scaring yourself.” But he knelt in front of me, begging me to agree to sign the document as required by the evil Party.
I told him I could not do this because I practiced Falun Dafa and got rid of many diseases that could not be cured in the hospital. I became healthier and healthier. It is good for me, my family, society, and the country.
Why not practice it? I didn’t break the law; I didn’t commit a crime, and I didn’t do anything wrong.
Why should I sign the pledge? As officials they did not think on behalf of the people.
Not only did they discourage us from practicing, they continue to persecute us in violation of the law and wanted us to admit our mistakes. Isn’t that confusing right with wrong?
But this was hard for my husband to understand. Since July 20, 1999, I have been illegally detained and my home was ransacked four times.
The persecution of me naturally caused him a lot of stress. Every time someone came to the door, he would be frightened.
I told him, “Don’t be afraid, as I didn’t do any illegal or criminal act. There is no reason for them to harass me, so I will talk to them if they do come.”
I went on to say, “Furthermore, Master is guiding me. I follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and I don’t do bad things.”
Lastly, I said, “It is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who is scared, as they have persecuted thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners to death and hope to avoid punishment.”
Two days after the initial call, on October 30th, the director of the neighborhood committee and four others came to my house. No one disclosed their names.
A man sitting next to me took out a form. I could not remember the title of the form even, but it said something like “education” and “transformation”.
The man gestured for me to fill it out. I thought: Indeed they come to “transform” me. They do not let me follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Isn’t that persecution?
I said, “I'm sorry, but I can’t sign it. I just can’t!”
Upon hearing what I said, the man put away the form, got up, and walked out right away. The others followed behind him, and the incident was over.
