(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 41 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Changlu Sentenced to Nine and a Half Years in Prison

Mr. Xu Changlu was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison. He is currently being held in the Yaojia Detention Center and no one is allowed to visit him.

2. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Li Lin Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Mr. Li Lin was recently sentenced to four years in prison. This is the third time Mr. Li has been sentenced to prison. He was previously imprisoned for a total of 13 years.

Mr. Li Lin was arrested on July 18, or August 18, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was first held for 15 days in the Sanjiang Detention House, and then transferred to Sanjiang Detention Center. He was tried in court around December 10, 2021 and was sentenced to four years in prison.

3. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Zhengping Sentenced to One Year and Two Months in Prison

Ms. Wu Zhengping from Zhongxiang City was sentenced to one year and two months in prison. His mother became gravely ill while he was imprisoned, and he asked to see her before she died. His request was denied. His mother later passed away.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Shida and Ms. Zhen Miao Facing Trial

Mr. Zhang Shida and Ms. Zhen Miao from Haidian District have been detained since January 2020. They will be tried in the Shanhou Court in Haidian District on December 22, 2021.

5. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zou Guixiang Arrested

Ms. Zou Guixiang was arrested at home at around 7 p.m., on December 11, 2021. Led by Mao Tao, head of the Machang Domestic Security Division, several officers from Macheng City and the Gaochun District Police Department in Nanjing City, broke into her home. They ransacked the home and confiscated her personal belongings including her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, several cell phones, and 7000 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts. Ms. Zou was taken to Nanjing City that night. Another practitioner came to visit Ms. Zou while the police were there, and was also arrested.

6. [Huaibei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhao Xinyun and Ms. Wei Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Xinyun and Ms. Wei were arrested at their homes by officers from the Lieshan Police Department on the afternoon of December 1, 2021. They are detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Huaibei City.

7. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Five people from the Yatou Sub-district Office and the Huaqiao Community Office went to Ms. Sheng Hanqiu’s home on November 18, 2021. Ms. Sheng refused their demand to sign a guarantee statement.

Ms. Huang Xiao’s son-in-law was harassed at his workplace by Yin Nengjin from the Yatou Sub-district Office on November 19, 2021. He was pressured to take the three statements to his mother-in-law and was threatened that he would not be allowed to return to work unless she signed them.

Ms. Xun Minghua was harassed at her workplace in the Nursing Department of Rongcheng City Hospital by Sun Cailing in late October 2021. Sun said that she would sign it for Ms. Xun if Ms. Xun agreed to no longer practice Falun Gong. Ms. Xun refused.

8. [Gong’an County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Guoliang Arrested

Mr. Zhang Guoliang, 44, was working at his shop in Jiazhuyuan Town when six town police officers came at around 10 a.m. on December 14, 2021. They showed him the arrest warrant and took him away.

9. [Ju County, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Jianxiu Detained

Ms. Cui Jianxiu lives in Xuejiamengyan Village, Xiaodian Town. She was sentenced to one year in prison and released home two and half years ago. She was arrested again and has been detained 60 days beyond her term in the Rizhao City Detention Center.

10. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Xin Detained

Ms. Guo Xin was taken by two officers, including Tao Yibo, deputy of the Shuangqiao District Domestic Security Division, on the afternoon of December 10, 2021. The police took Ms. Guo to a hospital to have a nucleic acid test and a physical exam. She is now detained in the Chengde City Detention Center.

Ms. Guo was arrested at home by officers from the Shuangqiao District Police Department on January 11, 2019. She was taken to a detention center but was denied admission due to her health condition. Ms. Guo was tried in the Shuangqiao District Court on July 10, 2019. She was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan on July 23, 2019. She was placed under residential surveillance.

11. [Ningxiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Saijun Arrested

Ms. Liu Saijun was reported to police by a student’s parent for talking to the student about Falun Gong in May 2021. She was arrested by officers from the Yutan Police Station in Ningxiang City and detained in the No. 4 Detention Center of Changsha City.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Zhu Suzhi and Mr. Zhang Guanghe Harassed

Ms. Zhu Suzhi from Pinggu District was harassed at home by local police in late November 2021. The officers stood there with handcuffs on their belts. Ms. Zhu’s husband was terrified and signed the three statements on his wife’s behalf.

Mr. Zhang Guanghe was deceived by the police and told that Ms. Zhu Suzhi had signed the three statements. He was taken by his daughter to the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee and signed the three statements.

13. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Mr. Chang Jubin Persecuted

Mr. Chang Jubin was imprisoned for ten years because he participated in broadcasting Falun Gong documentaries on TV. After he was released, he had no job and his family had fallen apart. He suffered a mental collapse while he was imprisoned. His mental condition has steadily declined.

14. [Ningxiang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Xie Xinfu Tried in Court

Mr. Xie Xinfu lives in Taiping Village, Yujiaao Township. He was arrested by officers from the Huishangang Town in Taojiang County for talking to people about Falun Gong in March 2021. Mr. Xie was tried in court on October 13, 2021 but a verdict has not been announced. He is currently detained in the Taojiang County Detention Center.

15. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Case Against Ms. Hou Baoqin Submitted to the Court

Ms. Hou Baoqin was arrested on June 3, 2021. The case against her has been submitted to the Shibei District Court.

16. [Chongqing] Mr. Wu Qun Persecuted in Prison

Mr. Wu Qun from Banan District was arrested in November 2018 and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He has been detained in the Yongchuan Prison. Because he refused to be brainwashed, he has been severely persecuted in the prison.

17. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Jianguo and His Wife Harassed

Mr. Sun Jianguo and his wife, who are in their 80s, were harassed several times in less than one year by the Zhaoyuan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee. The older couple were pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which they firmly refused. Their children kept receiving harassment calls and were pressured to sign a guarantee statement on behalf of their parents.

18. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Dezhen and Ms. Fu Shaozhen Arrested

When Ms. Dai Dezhen opened the door to check after the power went out in her home on the morning of December 1, 2021, a group of the police officers swarmed in and arrested Ms. Dai and her husband.

Ms. Fu Shaozhen was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials in Yangyuan on December 4, 2021. Five officers from the Yangyuan Police Station interrogated her. Several officers from the Beihu Police Station were called in, and they took Ms. Fu to a brainwashing center.

19. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Su Jiangying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Su Jiangying, 65, lives in Nianding Village, Shankou Town, Daiyue District. She had previously been sentenced to two years of forced labor. Ms. Su was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and was arrested by officers from the Taishan District Police Department at around 8 p.m. on December 7, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and some truth clarifying desk calendars were confiscated. Her daughter paid 40,000 yuan in blackmail money fearing that her mother would be severely persecuted. Ms. Su was placed in a 15-day detention and sent to the Taian City Detention House.

20. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Penglian Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yang Penglian from Yongnian District was arrested by officers from the Xiyangcheng Township Police Station on December 10, 2021 for distributing desk calendars with information about Falun Gong. She is currently detained in the Yongnian District Detention House.

21. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Yun Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Yun has been detained in a brainwashing center for nearly ten days.

22. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Weihong Arrested

Ms. Lu Weihong, 58, lives in Baita Village, Sang’a Town, Guan County. She was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials in Zouliuzhuang Village, Liangtang Township, and was arrested. She is currently detained in the Guan County Detention Center.

23. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Hu Aimin Arrested

Ms. Hu Aimin was arrested about a week ago.

24. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qing Lieyu Arrested

Ms. Qing Lieyu is a retired teacher in Xigao Township. She was arrested by officers from the Jinyu Town Police Station on the morning of December 1, 2021. Her dormitory was ransacked and her personal belongings, including a Falun Gong plaque, were confiscated. She was fined 1000 yuan and was released the next day.

25. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Han Lihui Harassed

Three people, including Zhang Shimin, head of the Judicial Office in Jiujiao Sub-district, went to Mr. Han Lihui’s home on December 14, 2021. They wanted to video record Mr. Han slandering the founder of Falun Gong. They threatened, “If Mr. Han refuses to cooperate, he will face severe consequences after the 20^th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party convenes.” Mr. Han refused to cooperate.

26. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Qingfang and Ms. Zhang Yingling Arrested and Detained

Ms. Xu Qingfang was arrested on December 12, 2021. She is currently detained in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Yingling was arrested by officers from the Taihe District Police Department on November 27, 2021. She is currently detained in the Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center.

27. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fei Shuqin and Ms. Qu Guihua Harassed

Four officers from the Dongcheng Police Station went to Ms. Fei Shuqin’s home on November 10, 2021. After finding out that Ms. Fei was sentenced to 13 years in prison and was still detained, they told her family members to sign the three statements on her behalf. The family did not cooperate. These officers also went to harass Ms. Qu Guihua.

28. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Wensheng Police Station went to a practitioner’s home on December 8, 2021 and arrested four practitioners who were visiting there, including 54-year-old Ms. Li Ying, Ms. Cui Rong, who is in her 40s, a male practitioner who is not from the area, and a local male practitioner. Ms. Li Ying’s home was later ransacked. The practitioners may be detained in the Liaoyang City Detention Center.
