(Minghui.org) A 76-year-old man in Wuhan City, Hubei Province didn’t regain freedom after serving 4.5 years for practicing Falun Gong. He was instead held in a brainwashing center for 36 days before finally being allowed to go home.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Feng Jiwu was arrested on September 27, 2016 while attending the trial of two other Falun Gong practitioners. He was sentenced to 4.5 years on April 17, 2017.

While serving time at Fanjiatai Prison, Mr. Feng was forced to do intensive labor and was pepper-sprayed when he fell asleep due to fatigue. He lost the vision in his right eye and the hearing in his right ear after being beaten by guards, yet the authorities refused to provide him any medical treatment.

On March 25, 2021, one day before his prison term was set to end, Mr. Feng was transferred to the prison hospital. He was taken to a brainwashing center near the Hanyang Zoo the next morning.

When Mr. Wu’s family went to the prison on March 26 to pick him up, they were devastated to hear that he had already been taken away.

Mr. Feng was held in the brainwashing center until April 30. Upon returning home, he struggles with poor vision, as well numbness in his mouth and his left hand. His family suspects that he was given toxic drugs while in the prison.

The guards who tortured him in the prison included Ding Chenghe, Chen Wu, Li Yong, Tang Rui, Wang Xiongjie and Zhang Guangxu.
