(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 41 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Yaolun, 79, was arrested in the Laoguanmiao area in the Western Suburb of Xi’an City while having dinner on July 26, 2020. Two officers forcibly put her into a police car, drove to her home, and ransacked the place.

They confiscated Falun Dafa books and printed materials. Ms. Wu was taken to the Dalianhuasi Police Station. She was released at midnight after her son signed the police paperwork.

At the same time, Ms. Run Fengying, 79, and Mr. Zhang Hailun, about 60, were also arrested in the Laoguanmiao area. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Run was released. Mr. Zhang’s whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Beijing] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xu Na, Ms. Meng Qingxia, Mr. Wang Yu, Ms. Deng Jing, Ms. Zheng Yujie, Mr. Zhang Renfei, Ms. Li Jiaxuan, Ms. Zheng Yanmei, Mr. Li Zongze, and Mr. Li Lixin were arrested at home by officers from the Konggang Police Station in Shunyi District on July 19, 2020. Several were directly taken to the Dongcheng District Detention Center. Ms. Deng, Ms. Zheng, Mr. Zhang, Mr. Li Zongze, and Mr. Li Lixin were transferred to the Beixinqiao Police Station.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sha Xiaolu Arrested

Ms. Sha Xiaolu from the Xihai’an area, Huangdao District, was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong in Liuwang Town, Jiaonan County, on July 27, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Liuwang Town Police Station. She was handcuffed, and forced to squat in a detention room in the police station.

Officers ransacked Ms. Sha’s home at 7:30 p.m. that evening, and confiscated a large number of personal items. Ms. Sha was released the following afternoon.

4. [Huojia County, Henan Province] Ms. Feng Yun Arrested and Zhang Fengshan Harassed

Six officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station broke into Ms. Feng Yun’s home and arrested her on the afternoon of July 29, 2020. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, printed materials, two cell phones, and cash. Ms. Feng was released that evening.

Zhang Fengshan was harassed four times by the police in July 2020. His Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Jun Detained

Ms. Liu Jun was arrested by officers from the Changtong Road Police Station on July 22, 2020. She was held in the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days.

6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hu Cuilan, Ms. Shui Li, Ms. Chen Jing, Ms. Hu Youping, and Ms. Huang were arrested by officers from the Nanjing City 610 Office and the Subway Police Department on the morning of July 22, 2020. They were forced to undergo physical exams. Officers also forcibly took their fingerprints. It was reported that some practitioners were released that evening, and other practitioners’ whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qiao Chenglin’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Qiao Chenglin received a phone call from Jiao Peng, who is from the Procuratorate, on August 3, 2020. Jiao told Mr. Qiao that his case was turned over to the Procuratorate, and told him to go to the Procuratorate.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Huo Xiaohui Officially Arrested

Ms. Huo Xiaohui was arrested and taken to Daqing City on April 8, 2020. She was taken to the Lindian County Detention Center after being interrogated. She was officially placed under arrest in mid-May and is being held in the Zhaozhou Detention Center.

9. [Beijing] Elderly Ms. Sun Arrested

Elderly Ms. Sun from Shisanling Town, Changping District, was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on July 29, 2020. The police arrested her, ransacked her home, and confiscated a phone book. She was released two days later after failing the physical exam.

10. [Hebi City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Baohua Arrested

Ms. Wang Baohua from Shancheng District was arrested and taken to a police station on July 19, 2020. She was interrogated for three hours and released.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Huanying and Her Non-Practitioner Husband Detained

Ms. Li Huanying, 77, and her non-practitioner husband Mr. Sun Mingguang, 78, were arrested by officers from the Xinhe Police Station and the Domestic Security Division on April 24, 2020. Their home was ransacked. The couple were held in custody for 39 days, and were extorted for 20,000 yuan. They have since returned home.

12. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiao Deyu Detained

Ms. Xiao Deyu, who works on odd jobs in Changsha City, was arrested and taken to the Wenyuan Police Station on the morning of July 23, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Officer Jie Zhigang handcuffed her and ordered several people to hold her and photograph her. She was taken to a detention center at 11 p.m. for 10 days of detention.

13. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiuzhen from Guyuan County was grabbed by someone on the afternoon of August 3, 2020, when distributing cards with QR code for circumventing China’s internet blockade. She managed to break free. That person tripped her and held her down. Ms. Yu was taken to the county police department.

Two officers from the Criminal Police Team led by Li Fulin, head of the Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Yu’s home and ransacked the place. Her mother had convulsions due to fright and had to take her heart medicine. Ms. Yu returned home at 10 p.m. that evening.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pang Yanmei and Husband Arrested

Ms. Pang Yanmei and her husband were arrested on the evening of August 2, 2020. Their home was ransacked. Three car loads containing nearly all of her personal belongings were confiscated.

15. [Chongren County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Dai Chuanyi Held in Detention Center

Mr. Dai Chuanyi was arrested by Fuzhou Domestic Security officers on July 22, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. He is being held in the Fuzhou Detention Center.

16. [Shanghai] Mr. Zhang Nanpin Arrested

Mr. Zhang Nanping from Minhang District was arrested around July 19, 2020. His home was ransacked and a computer, a printer, Falun Dafa books, and other items were confiscated.

17. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Du Fengqin Arrested

Ms. Du Fengqin, from the Qinglongchang area in Chenghua District, had just opened the door when she got home on July 25, 2020, when twelve plainclothes officers from the Chenghua District Police Department shoved in. They ransacked the place. The officers confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, a printer, a laptop, brochures, and 1,000-yuan paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them.

Ms. Du was taken to the Qinglong Police Department, where she was interrogated while sitting in a big iron chair. She refused to cooperate with the interrogation. Around 10 p.m., the police officer reported to the Chenghua District Public Department, and got approval to release her if her son signed the bail agreement.

Officers from the Qinglong Police Department went to her home again the following day, and demanded that she go to a brainwashing center for three months.

18. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Xingfen Beaten

Liu Shaoqi, from the Aoping Town Government 610 Office, and officer Wang, from the Aoping Town Police Station, kicked the door open and broke into Ms. Luo Xingfen’s home in the No. 5 Team on July 23, 2020. They took away a large number of personal items. They also beat and injured Ms. Luo.

19. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Hongwei and Ms. Liu Huimin Arrested

Mr. Liu Hongwei from Gaoyang County was reported when he talked to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested and taken to the Gaoyang Detention Center. He was released after his family was extorted for 5,000 yuan.

On July 20, 21, and 23, 2020, Mr. Liu was harassed at home by several officers from the Jinhua Street Police Station. The officers called his daughter and other family members several times, to harass and threaten them. They told Mr. Liu’s family that he had to go to the police station for questioning on a specific day. The police also assigned people to monitor him in the Gaoyang Residential Community. On July 24, Mr. Liu and his family went to the police station to ask for the return of a 5,000-yuan deposit. He was taken into custody, and has not returned home yet.

Ms. Liu Huimin from Anguo City was arrested by the Anguo Domestic Security officers when she talked to people about Falun Gong on August 5, 2020.

20. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zeng Jiageng Faces Trial

Mr. Zeng Jiageng, 78, a senior engineer, will be tried by the Haizhu District Court on the morning of August 17, 2020.

Mr. Zeng was arrested by the Public Transport Police Department on July 10, 2019. He has been held in custody for over a year.

21. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Huang Xingmin Arrested

Mr. Huang Xingmin was arrested by officers from the Jinqiao Residential Community Police Station on the evening of August 4, 2020. His home was ransacked, and a computer, a printer, a cell phone, Falun Dafa books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated.

22. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Liang Ailing Held in Custody

Ms. Liang Ailing, an employee of the Lantong Factory, Qilihe District, was arrested by officers from the Tumendun Police Station on July 30, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Jiuzhou No. 1 Detention Center.
