(Minghui.org) July 20, 2020, marks 21 years that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. On this day, elected officials including Members of Parliament (MP) issued video statements supporting the practitioners’ peaceful protests and to call for the sanctioning of human rights perpetrators.

MP Peter Kent of Thornhill district, Chair of Parliamentary Friends of Falun Gong, has actively condemned the CCP’s persecution for over ten years. He spoke during a virtual rally held on July 20 and urged the Canadian government to sanction CCP officials involved in the persecution.

MP Michael Cooper of St. Albert district of Edmonton expressed his support via video and suggested the Canadian government use the Magnitsky Act to sanction human rights perpetrators.
