(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in ten provinces, where at least 40 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Three practitioners were tried and sentenced to prison by the Changtu County Court on June 29, 2020.
Ms. Liu Yuhua was given a four-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan.Her husband Mr. Jin Liguo was given a one-year prison term and fined 1,000 yuan.Ms. Zhang Lizhen was given a three-month prison term and fined 1,000 yuan.
Ms. Feng Liyun from the Baoji City Tobacco Factory was recorded on video surveillance camera talking to people about Falun Gong on June 28, 2020. She was immediately arrested.
Ms. Qin Lijie, Ms. Li Baolian, and Ms. Kou Aimei were taken to the No. 2 Detention Center on June 29.
Ms. Song Liqin was arrested on September 11, 2019. She has been held in a detention center for nearly ten months. Her case was turned over to the High-tech Zone Court in January 2020. So far there has been no court hearing due to the coronavirus pandemic. A lawyer hired by her family has submitted an application for bail.
Security guards identified Ms. Na Chunru on surveillance cameras. They confiscated her truth-clarifying materials and reported her to the police. She was arrested and taken to the Dongguan Police Station, where she was interrogated, videotaped, and forced to sign their paperwork.
Ms. Na was released the following afternoon.
Mr. Zhang Shouxin, Mr. Zhang Yanfeng, Ms. Li Fengying, Ms. Song Qin, Ms. Song Xiaofang, Ms. Han Yu, Ms. Jia Keyun, Ms. Meng Zhaomei, and Ms. Liu Junxiang were harassed by the police and residential community personnel in recent days. They were asked if they still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Xu Xiaolan, 67, from Kangzhuang Town in Gaomi City was arrested at home by officers from the Kangzhuang Police Station and the Gaomi 610 Office on January 9, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and four copies of Zhuan Falun, two boxes of Minghui Weekly and printed materials, an audio player, and over 60 yuan in cash were confiscated.
She was taken to the Kangzhuang Police Station and later transferred to the Dongguan Police Station, where she was interrogated and forced to put her fingerprints on the criminal detention warrant.
Ms. Xu was detained for seven days. She was released after her family paid 5,000 yuan on January 16.
Mr. Hou Qingsheng from Dawenkou Town in the Daiyue District was caught by urban management personnel, also called the Shanggao Police, while he was talking to people about Falun Gong on June 26, 2020.
Mr. Hou was taken to the police station for interrogation. He was released 27 hours later.
Ms. Bao Shuhua, 50, from Yangjia Town in the Jingyang District was arrested by officers from the Deyang City Police Department, the Jingyang Police Department, and the Yangjia Police Station on June 30, 2020.
The officers later climbed over the wall of a nearby courtyard, smashed the windows of Ms. Yan Yulan’s home, and broke in. They arrested her and confiscated all the items in her courtyard. Ms. Yan is 66 years old.
Liu Meicheng, Sun Yanping, and other officers from the Zhuolu County Domestic Security Division, knocked on Mr. Zhai Shengrong’s door and harassed him on the afternoon of June 29, 2020. Sun videotaped the entire process. They asked Mr. Zhai to sign their paperwork, threatening to dismiss his child from school and suspend his pension if he refused.
The officers went to Ms. Guo Jianhong’s home and harassed her on June 30.
Ms. Cao Shulian was arrested by urban management personnel on the morning of July 2, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated. She was taken to the Laozhan Police Station.
Ms. Cao’s husband was forced to pay a 1,000 yuan fine. Ms. Cao was taken to a detention center that afternoon.
Ms. Zhang Liyan from the Tongzhou District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by Wang Jian and Wan Xin, residential police officers, and another Domestic Security officer. Her home was ransacked. She has since returned home.
Ms. Li Xianzhi, in her 70s, was reported to the police on the morning of June 30, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Xiangcheng District's Tanxi Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She was given 15 days of administrative detention, however, she was released due to her elderly age and the coronavirus pandemic. Her son then brought her back home.
Ms. Wen Yuyan, 75, was reported to the police on June 21, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials and keepsakes. She was arrested by officers from the Wulajie Police Station. They confiscated 141 yuan in cash and several keepsakes that she was carrying.
Her home was ransacked the following day, and 44 yuan in cash, six copies of Falun Dafa books, a phone book, and an MP3 player were confiscated.
The police called Ms. Wen’s daughter, who works in Beijing, and told her to pay 2,700 yuan, which she refused.
Ms. Wen was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center, but was not admitted due to her elderly age. She was then taken to the Longtan Police Department, but was kept in the police car with an officer watching her. She was later released on bail.
Ms. Jiang Chunyan and Ms. Zhang Dehong from the Beibei District were reported to the police on the afternoon of July 1, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested.
The police ransacked Ms. Zhang’s home, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and a laptop. The officers also ransacked Ms. Jiang’s home that evening.
The Fengrun District police ransacked Ms. Cai Hongshu’s home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books on June 18, 2020. They threatened to arrest her.
Mr. Zhu Guotai from Caozhuangzi Village, Yangguanlin Town in the Fengrun District was arrested by officers from the Yangguanlin Police Station on June 18. He was taken to the police station and transferred to the Fengrun Detention Center on June 20.
Over ten officers from the Hanting District Domestic Security Division and the Gaoli Police Station ransacked Ms. Jin Shuqin’s home and harassed her on June 30, 2020.
Ms. Zhao Jinglan, 65, from the Wanghua District's Guchengzi area was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Guchengzi Police Station on July 1, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her family went to the police station to demand her release, but no one would speak to them.
Ms. Li Shuxian, Ms. Xu Yanping, and Ms. Zuo Ying from the Dongfeng District were arrested by officers from the Changsheng Police Station on the afternoon of July 1, 2020, for posting Falun Gong informational materials. Their homes were ransacked.
Ms. Xu and Ms. Zuo are being held in the Jiamusi City Detention Center. Ms. Li was released due to high blood pressure.
Ms. Zhong Yimei from the Qixingguan District was arrested by the Qixingguan police on June 25, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and a printer, computer, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.
Ms. Wang Shuying from Dunhuang City was arrested by about twelve police officers at 9:30 p.m. on June 10, 2020.
She was locked on an iron chair in the Shazhou Police Station. Several officers took turns interrogating her. Some of her hair was pulled out, and her mouth was pried open. Zhang Shengzhi, the director of the police station, slandered Falun Dafa.
The police ransacked her home and confiscated her son’s computer on June 11. They took photos and body searched her daughter and relatives.
Ms. Wang was taken to a detention center for seven days. She returned home on June 18.
