(Minghui.org) May 13, 2020, was the 28th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa and the 21st World Falun Dafa Day. Elected officials in Canada including Members of Parliament (MP), Members of the Provincial Parliament (MPP), mayors, and city council members have issued proclamations and letters to commend Falun Dafa.
So far, 106 elected officials have marked the occasion, more than in previous years. Below are letters from four elected officials in Canada.
MPP Robin Martin of Ontario, Canada
“It’s with tremendous pride that I congratulate you all on Falun Dafa Day,” wrote MPP Robin Martin. “From coast to coast, millions around the world pay tribute to the anniversary of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) the Chinese spiritual practice that is centered upon the moral philosophy of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance.
“Falun Dafa has been recognized and awarded worldwide by helping people improve their spiritual, mental, and physical well being through meditative exercises.
“On Falun Dafa Day, I congratulate and send my best wishes to all residents who observe this day.”
Mayor Daniel Conway of the Town of St. George’s
“On behalf of the Town of St. George’s I bring greetings for the 28th Falun Dafa Anniversary,” Mayor Daniel Conway stated in his letter. “This special celebration is a great opportunity to recognize the enduring teachings of Falun Dafa which promotes the universal principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. We are proud to know that Canada is home to a thriving Falun Dafa community and the Town of St. George’s is equally proud to celebrate this anniversary with you.”

“Many blessings for a special celebration of Falun Dafa Day,” MP Pierre Poilievre wrote. “The universal principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance are celebrated throughout the world and I commend Falun Dafa practitioners for their efforts to promote freedoms that are cherished by Canadians.”

“I would like to congratulate all Canadians who practice Falun Gong and promote the important values of self-growth and moral living, principles that can bring health, peace and harmony to our communities and to the world,” Councilor Karen Cilevitz stated in her letter. “I commend you for empowering people and helping them improve their spiritual, mental and physical well-being,” Councilor Karen Cilevitz said in her greetings.
