(Minghui.org) While the city of Chibi in Hubei Province was locked down during the coronavirus epidemic, a nine-year-old girl posted some self-adhesive stickers in her neighborhood with information about people recovering from the virus by reciting the phrases “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.” Because of this she was harassed by the authorities, who also threatened to arrest her and her mother.
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is an ancient spiritual discipline with three core tenets of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance and five sets of meditative exercises.
In the past 20 years, Falun Gong has been severely persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party due to the practice's immense popularity and spiritual teachings that contrast with the CCP's ideology of atheism, violence, deceit, and lies.
Falun Gong practitioners have been encouraging people to recite the above-mentioned auspicious phrases as a peaceful way to counteract the persecution and also as a way for people to connect with the universal values and positive energy involved in the practice. Many people who heeded this advice have reported better health and protection from danger, including recovery from the coronavirus.
The little girl and her parents, Ms. Yang Zhenhuan and Mr. Zhong Xiaoming, are all Falun Gong practitioners. After she learned of the confirmed coronavirus cases in her neighborhood, she was eager to share the information with her neighbors. But as her mother had broken her leg and was unable to go out, the little girl decided to put up some stickers by herself in the neighborhood. However, she was reported to the police.
On May 6, 2020, eight officers from the local police station and residential committee knocked on the door of the little girl’s home. They showed her mother the photo of the child putting up the stickers and took their Falun Gong books. They threatened to arrest the little girl and her mother after her leg heals.
The child was traumatized and often cried after the officers left.
Many of the family’s relatives, who were influenced by the communist regime’s demonizing propaganda against Falun Gong, have chided the little girl’s parents for “teaching her to do bad things.”
