(Minghui.org) Oliver Stirboeck, member of the Hessen State Parliament, Germany sent a letter to Falun Dafa practitioners in Frankfurt in May 2020 to wish their 21st World Falun Dafa Day celebration a success. He wrote in his letter that Falun Gong’s values of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are noble goals that we should strive for.

He also expressed his respect for Falun Gong practitioners in China who have tirelessly and peacefully resisted the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). 

He also mentioned that Falun Gong practitioners in Germany “are safe and can live in freedom,” and his Free Democratic Party will support practitioners’ effort and help them reach this goal worldwide.

The following is the English version of his letter: 

My dear ladies and gentlemen:

We liberals stand for freedom and self-fulfillment of the individual, and will combat with any state repression that jeopardizes our freedom. The Falun Gong values Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, are noble goals that we should strive for.

The human rights situation in the People's Republic of China, especially the persecution of spiritual groups, is a recurring issue for us. For us, peaceful spiritual practices are an expression of the individual's freedom – something that is exactly what we need to protect.

The Chinese government's dealings with Falun Gong are anything but humane and not in accordance with the rule of law. I hold a deep respect for your tireless peaceful resistance against the cruel persecution, and will gladly support your endeavors with anything and wherever I can. 

Here, you are safe and can live in freedom. I wished that this would be the case worldwide.

With us, the free democrats, you have an ally that is willing to help you reach this goal. In view of the economic importance of China given the present realpolitik is a difficult goal. Nevertheless, we will address this issue wisely, just as the leader of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP) of Germany, a member of the German Parliament, Christian Lindner, had done while visiting Hong Kong. Given the difficulties of reaching this goal, double dealing friends that are intolerant will never become our allies.
