(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in nine cities or counties in seven provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Chen Zhongzhi Sentenced to a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Chen Zhongzhi, from the Houtai Garden Residential Community in the Xiqing District, was released on bail on March 12, 2019.

She was tried on December 31 by the Nankai District Court, sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term, and fined 20,000 yuan. She is being held in the Nankai Detention Center.

2. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Limei Arrested

Ms. Wang Limei was arrested by officers from the Majiagou Police Station on April 15, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

3. [Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sheng Pei’e Arrested

Ms. Sheng Pei’e, 45, from Huayuan Village, Zhangpu Town, was arrested at her own hairdresser shop by four officers from the Zhangpu Police Station on the morning of April 8, 2020. Two agents from the Kunshan City 610 Office went to the police station and interrogated her. They also called Ms. Sheng’s husband in for questioning. The couple was released later that afternoon.

Agents from the 610 Office ransacked Ms. Sheng’s home and confiscated an MP3 player.

4. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guimei and Ms. Li Shuyan Arrested

Ms. Li Guimei and Ms. Li Shuyan from Chicheng Town, Chicheng County, were arrested at home by officers from the Chicheng Domestic Security Division on the evening of April 14, 2020.

5. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

More than a dozen officers from the Chengfeng Police Department in the Ranghulu District broke into 78-year-old Ms. Jiang Tingjun’s home in the Chuangyecheng area on April 10, 2020. They ransacked the place and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Dafa, printed materials, and DVDs. Ms. Jiang was taken to the police department for interrogation. She signed the list of confiscated items and was released later that afternoon.

Elderly Ms. Wang was also arrested and released that day.

Ms. Zhu, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Zhaozhou Police Department and the Heping Police Station around April 10. The officers confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhu was later released.

Ms. Han Yongmei was arrested by officers from the Zhaozhou Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of April 14. She was released later that day.

6. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Shoubin Arrested; Several Practitioners Harassed

Mr. Wang Shoubin from Dongguo Town was reported to the police on March 27, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested by officers from the Dongguo Police Station, who ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, an MP3 player, and 1,000 yuan in cash.

The officers also went to several other practitioners’ homes and harassed them. Mr. Zhou Shaotang, in his 80s, was coerced into writing a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong.

7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Four Practitioners Arrested; Another Harassed

Mr. Zhang Guosheng was deceived into going to the Huizhou Police Station on the morning of October 18, 2019. The officers took his keys, went to his home, and ransacked it when no one was there. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and other personal belongings. Mr. Zhang was arrested and taken to a hospital for a check-up that evening before going to a detention center. However, the detention center refused to admit him as he had high blood pressure. He was released on parole and sent home.

Political head of the Huizhou Police Station Gong Dexing and other officers pried open the door to Ms. Chen Jingying’s home in March 2020. They arrested Ms. Chen and Ms. Liu Haixia, who were reading the Falun Dafa teachings together. Ms. Chen was released on bail. Ms. Liu was detained for 13 days before being released on bail.

Ms. Su Guiyan was recorded on surveillance cameras when she was posting Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and detained for a week.

Ms. Feng Guoru’s cell phone was tapped and has been interfered with many times.

8. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Elderly Ms. Wang Xizhen and Practitioner Zhang Arrested

Ms. Wang Xizhen, 66, and another practitioner surnamed Zhang, 70, from Honggou Village, Shizilu Town, were reported to the police when they were out together on March 24, 2020. They were arrested by the head of the Chengbei Police Station Ming Shudong and other officers.

Ms. Wang’s home was ransacked, and several copies of Falun Dafa books were confiscated. The officers then went to practitioner Zhang’s home, ransacked it, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and 15 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

9. [Wuyishan City, Fujian Province] Ms. Lin Jinjiao's Prison Sentence Upheld

Ms. Lin Jinjiao was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term. She appealed, but the original verdict was upheld on April 10, 2020. The appellate judge did not hold a hearing before making the decision.
