(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 69 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhu Dazhen, 74, from Kaizhou District was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Kaizhou District 610 Office and a police station on April 24, 2020. She was released on bail.
She was tried on July 19, and placed under residential surveillance for six months. She was taken to the Three Gorges Hospital in Wanzhou District and the Chongqing Hospital for physical examination in October.
She was again tried and sentenced to a five-year-and-six-month prison term and fined 15,000 yuan. She lives under residential surveillance at home.
Mr. Xu Zhangqing and his son were taken to the Anlu City Court, which is about 25 miles away from Xiaogan City, on the morning of November 17, 2020. Mr. Xu, his wife Ms. Tu Ailian, and their son were tried together in court.
After nearly 7 hours of trial, all the charges put forward by the prosecutor Hou Juan were proved invalid by Ms. Tu’s lawyer and three other lawyers.
In the end the prosecutor had nothing to say. The lawyers also pleaded not guilty and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the family of three. The court did not pronounce the verdict in the courtroom.
Ms. Xin Suhua was held and abused in the Elderly and Disabled Team of Liaoning Women’s Prison. She refused to be “transformed,” and as a result she was deprived of sleep, drinking water, and toilet access. She was also beaten and cursed.
Mr. Yang Xiaoming, Ms. Chen Lin, and Mr. Gao Zhencai were arrested in July 2019. They were tried on November 11, 2020. The court refused their family members to attend the hearing citing the pandemic as an excuse.
Ms. Zhang Huilan from Weibin District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on September 26, 2019. She was arrested and taken to the Panlong Police Station for two days of custody. At that time, the head of Jintai District 610 Office claimed that they would suspend her pension. She was taken to the Baoji City No. 2 Detention Center the following afternoon and held there for 10 days.
A community staff member called Ms. Zhang in mid-July 2020, and asked her to go there to sign the guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. Her pension was suspended in September.
Zhao Hong, director of Linyuan Community Committee, Tongcheng Sub-district, Acheng District, called Ms. Sun Shufang’s brother and the manager of her son on November 17 and 18, 2020. Her son and brother refused to cooperate.
Ms. Liu Rong and her sister-in-law Ms. Bo Ling were arrested at home in recent days.
Ms. Wang Xiangfen from Shuangcheng District was arrested by a group of police officers on September 21, 2020. The officers confiscated over 50 Falun Dafa books.
At that time, Ms. Wang was frightened and remained unconsciousness, unable to answer questions. She was taken to a hospital for physical examination. Her blood pressure reached 220. She was released at midnight.
Officials from Baokang Town in Horqin Left Middle Banner stated to harassed practitioners around November 17, 2020.
Over a dozen fully equipped police officers went to the workplace of Ms. Zhang Yuzhi’s son and ordered him to persuade his mother to write the three statements.
Ms. Zhai Lixia’s husband and son were called to the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and were ordered to persuade Ms. Zhang to write the three statements.
Ms. Zhang Shujie was called to the community administration office, and two community staff members had a talk with her.
Ms. Bao Siqin-Gaowa was again called to the community.
Two community staff members went to Ms. Zhai’s home again.
Party secretary Zhao Bing of the Zhaohui Village, under the instruction of the Weiwan Town 610 Office, asked for and got the phone number of practitioner Hou Yurong (gender unknown) in October 2020. After that the 610 officers threatened and forced Hou to write the guarantee statements.
Zhao called Hou again on November 18 to harass and threaten Hou.
Ms. Qu Guirong was harassed by officers from the Pingxin Town Police Station in Pingfang District on November 17, 2020.
Village head Pan Mingjun and village Party secretary Ju Jiale, under police instruction, called Ms. Qu’s husband and told him to ask his wife to fingerprint a printed sheet of paper.
Recently the Bayan County Political and Legal Affairs Committee instructed local police stations and work units to harass and force Falun Gong practitioners in Bayan County to sign, fingerprint, and read out documents slandering Dafa that came from higher authorities. They videotaped the practitioners and threatened practitioners who were employees of these work units.
The practitioners harassed included Wang Shuxian, Wang Chunrong, Wang Manli, Li Yajie, Liu Zhipeng, Fei Menglin, Gao Fuzhi (who just returned from three years in prison), Tang Shuying, Ming Xiaoguang, He Miao, Dong Guozhi, Guan Shuqin, Gao Shuxia, Zhao Yu, Zhang Fengming, Zhou, Yin, Shi Juqiu, Zhang Qingru, Peng Wenxin, Peng’s parents, Zhu Chonghua, Zhu Yanru, and Xiao Dayan.
Ms. Yang, about 70, from Shou’an Town in Pujiang County, was arrested by officers from the Shou’an Town Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong materials in the town on November 9, 2020. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Zhou, a manager of Fangbin Supermarket in Dongcheng Sub-district, and his wife, both in their 30s, were arrested recently. The wife has returned home. Mr. Zhou’s situation is not clear.
Ms. Ai Yuexin, about 75, was recorded by video surveillance cameras when posting Falun Gong materials on November 16, 2020. She was arrested at home by the Liangshan County police. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, several copies of Nine Commentaries, ten copies of The Ultimate Goal of Communism, and five small audio recorders.
Ms. Ai was taken to the Shuibo Police Station for interrogation. The officers forcibly took blood samples and fingerprints from her. They also took pictures of her. She was brought back home by her son after 7 p.m.
Ms. Pan Xiulan, about 67, was followed and arrested on July 1, 2020. On November 3 her case was turned over to the Liangshan Procuratorate. She was notified of this around that day.
Officers from the Luogang Police Station and personnel from a Sub-district Administration Office went to Ms. Zhou Ping’s home and harassed her on November 17, 2020. They went to her home again the following day, and cut off the wires to her doorbell.
Officers from the Baohe District Police Department and personnel from the Tong’an Sub-district Administration Office escorted her nephew, deceived her into opening the door on November 19. They also intercepted and arrested her daughter for a talk. Her daughter was taken to a brainwashing center, whose current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Cui Yuqiu was arrested by officers from Chuncheng Street Police Station in Luyuan District on July 15, 2020. She has been held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center. Her case was turned over to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate on September 28.
During that period, her family hired a lawyer to go to the procuratorate to review the files. The lawyer was denied access to her case. The officials instead asked her or her family members to write a statement that “practicing Falun Gong is wrong” before the lawyer could review case files. The demand was rejected by the family.
Ms. Zhou Shuping’s family went to the Chaoyang District Police Department to find out more about Ms. Zhou’s case on November 17, 2020. They learned that her case was turned over to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate.
Over ten people from the Heli Forestry Bureau, the affiliated police station, and community personnel went to Ms. Wang Jing’s home and arrested her on the afternoon of November 19, 2020. They confiscated several Falun Dafa books.
Personnel from the Huoju Sub-district Administration Office and the Aimin Community in Xi’an District went to Ms. Li Hongjun’s home and asked her to sign paperwork in October 2020.
The community personnel called her husband and harassed him on November 5.
Jiaohe City officials held a brainwashing center at the Qixi Hotel in the Xinqu area on November 19, 2020, and has begun to coerce Falun Gong practitioners into attending the brainwashing sessions.
Ms. Zhang Yanzhu’s family members have been there several times. Ms. Zhang said she could not walk. The Party Secretary and Director of the Labor Insurance Department would go to her home to run a brainwashing class for her on November 22.
Over ten family members of Ms. Su Ronghua, Ms. Wang Yinglan, 80, and another practitioner with the last name Duan were harassed, and some of them were coerced to have gone to the brainwashing center.
Ms. Hu Dingyuan from Xinshi District was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. All practitioners were harassed intensively by the local police and community personnel, and coerced to write the three statements.
Ms. Li Lin’e from Changjiang Village in Baitian Town was harassed as part of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee’s zero-out campaign (a concerted drive to force practitioners on the CCP’s blacklist to renounce Falun Gong) on November 3, 2020.
Officials coaxed her to give up practicing Falun Dafa. Three people went to her home again the following day, threatened her and took pictures of her and her husband. A person, in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in town, called and harassed her again on November 17.
Party secretary Lian Zhiping of the No. 85 Building Residential Committee and other people in the Nanfan area, Guye District, broke into Ms. Zhang Yulan’s home and forcibly videotaped her on November 13, 2020. They forced her to renounce Falun Dafa practice.
Practitioners Ms. Yu Ping, Ms. Feng Shuhuan, Ms. Wu Guibo, Ms. Dai Shihua, and non-practitioner Ms. Dai Shiling from Wanggang Town in Nangang District will be tried at the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center via video-link on the morning of November 24, 2020.
Ms. Liu Changsiu, 77, from Nan’an District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational U discs on October 21, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the 110 Response Unit, who were called in by the urban management personnel.
Over a dozen people from the Tongyuanju Sub-district Comprehensive Management Office, the police station, and the Bajiaowan Community went to the homes of Ms. Zhang Fan and Ms. Zhang Xiaolin on the morning of November 6, 2020. These people took pictures and audio recordings of the two practitioners, and demanded that they sign the “five statements.”
