(Minghui.org) Five Tianjin residents were harassed for their faith in Falun Gong between November 5 and 6, 2020. Two practitioners and one practitioner’s daughter have been forced into displacement to hide from the police.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

One staff member of the residential committee knocked on Ms. Han Wenmin’s door around 4 p.m. on November 5, 2020. As Ms. Han didn’t respond, the staffer left, thinking that no one was home.

At 6 p.m., after Ms. Han turned on her light, six officers and four residential committee staffers, knocked hard on her door. They attempted to pry open her door when she refused to open it. Seeing that the police almost broke her door, Ms. Han had no way but to let them in. Both she and her husband, Mr. Hu Qinglin, were arrested. Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Wenlan, who happened to pass by her home during the couple’s arrests, was noticed by an officer and also arrested.

The police brought the three practitioners to the Banchanglu Police Station and took their pictures. One officer pounded on the table and ordered them to sign prepared statements to renounce Falun Gong. “You must sign it today, whether you want it or not. Or we will ransack your home and sentence you to two years.” The police also slandered the founder of Falun Gong. The police grabbed both Ms. Wang and Ms. Han’s hands to press their fingerprints on the statements. Before they were released around midnight, the officers didn’t allow them to use the restroom during the interrogation. Ms. Han’s arms still hurt the next day.

In addition to threatening the three practitioners, the police harassed Ms. Han’s daughter and son-in-law through phone calls.

Also at 6 p.m. on November 5, several officers turned off the power of Mr. Qu Dongpeng’s home. Knowing that some practitioners have been arrested after they went out to check the situation after experiencing a sudden power outage, Mr. Qu stayed at home and didn’t open his door. The police then knocked on his door and said, “Open the door young man, let’s talk.” Then the officer took a chair and sat outside of Mr. Qu’s front door.

Around midnight, Mr. Qu escaped. When he returned home a few days later, he found the lock on his front door had been changed. Unable to open the door, he couldn’t verify if the police had ransacked his home or installed surveillance cameras inside. He has now been forced into displacement.

Earlier this spring, Ms. Bai Shuqin was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her husband, who didn’t practice Falun Gong, was also arrested. While the couple was released on the same day, her husband was deeply terrified. The police later informed Ms. Bai that they would detain her for ten days after the pandemic is over.

Since then, her husband had been struggling with poor health. He was soon diagnosed with a terminal disease and passed away shortly after.

Ms. Bai stayed with her daughter for the past few months. Just as she and her daughter returned home on November 6, she received a call from the residential committee and asked to go to their office to answer a census questionnaire. She agreed to go there a few days later. Not long after she hung up the phone, the police came and smashed the door. When Ms. Bai refused to open the door, they also sat outside and waited for her to come out. Similar to Mr. Qu, both Ms. Bai and her daughter escaped and were forced into displacement. Their current whereabouts is unknown.
