(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 13 provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Chunqin Stands Trial

Ms. Liu Chunqin, 45, was arrested by Taishan Road Police Station officers on the afternoon of May 27, 2020, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They put her in a detention center without notifying her family as required by law. It was 15 days later that her family learned she was in criminal detention and her case was in a city police department.

On October 11, her family learned that her case had been transferred to the Lusong District. The Lusong District Court filed charges against her with the Lusong District Court. The court will try the case on October 29, 2020.

2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Fang Weixiong and Mr. Weng Qingzhong Stand Trial

Mr. Fang Weixiong and Mr. Weng Qingzhong will be tried in the Zhuhai District Court on December 29, 2020.

3. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Ping and Ms. Ma Sumei Face Second Trial

Mr. Wang Ping and Ms. Ma Sumei have each been detained for one year. They were to be released on September 20, 2020, but the prosecutor opposed it. The Binzhou City Court will hold a new trial on October 26.

4. [Zhengjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Shouqing Arrested

Ms. Li Shouqing was arrested for no reason on her way home from grocery shopping on October 22, 2020. Twelve officers ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, a computer, and all of her Falun Gong books.

5. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Zhou Deyuan and Li Lan Arrested

Zhou Deyuan and Li Lan were arrested by Jingwanzi Police Station officerson the evening of October 21, 2020.

6. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Wang Zhong Detained

Wang Zhong, 69, was detained after his home was ransacked. It was learned that he would be charged as a criminal and would get a harsh sentence.

7. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Liu Hongzhao Detained

Liu Hongzhao was arrested by Chengqu Police Station officers on October 21, 2020, while talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Liu is being held at the Chengqu Police Station.

8. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xu Qinfeng, Ms. Tian Lili, and Mr. Shen and his wife were arrested by Xintai Domestic Security Division director Feng Dayong and other officers on October 21, 2020. Mr. Shen and his wife are in their 70s. The practitioners’ homes were ransacked. They were released on bail the following afternoon.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shan Yinghui and Her Husband Mr. Gao Haiming Harassed Repeatedly

Ms. Shang Yinghui is a deputy chief physician of internal medicine in her county hospital. The Zhaoyuan County Political and Legal Affairs Committee ordered county Health Bureau deputy head Yu Zhanyou, county hospital president Shao Peiyan, and others to “talk” to Ms. Shang several times. They ordered Ms. Shang to sign the three statements. When she refused, they threatened her with her job, her child’s education and career, and her personal freedom.

The police went to her home three times on September 28, 2020. No one was at home. The officers kicked and smashed the door, frightening her neighbors. Ms. Shang dared not return home.

Mr. Gao Haiming was told to sign the three statements at work on October 13, 2020. His director Han Xuedong said that the order to do so came from the top. Mr. Gao refused.

10. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jin Changlin To Stand Trial

Ms. Jin Changlin’s case was submitted to the Wujiang Court in early August 2020. She will be tried on the afternoon of October 30, 2020.

11. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Shulian’s Case Moved to Procuratorate

Ms. Cao Shulian, 58, was arrested and taken to the Laozhan Police Station by city security on July 2, 2020, after they videotaped her distributing Falun Gong flyers. Her case was submitted to the Liuhe Procuratorate.

12. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Wen Subjected to Brainwashing

Mr. Liu Wen was forced to report daily to the Baiyun District Brainwashing Center beginning October 20, 2020. The head of the center, Yang, subjected him to brainwashing and tried to coerce him into writing the three statements.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Yong and Wife Ms. Liu Detained

Mr. Zhou Yong and his wife Ms. Liu were arrested at home by officers from the Dunyang Police Station on September 9, 2020. Their home was ransacked and their belongings were confiscated. Ms. Liu is being held at the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center. Mr. Zhou is incarcerated in the Jiangan District Brainwashing Center.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Chengyu Arrested

Ms. Zhou Chengyu was arrested by Dawan Police Station officers on October 16, 2020. She was stalked by plainclothes officers after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was subjected to 10 days of detention. She was taken home by her family the next day after she developed severe high blood pressure.

15. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Mr. Nie Tiemei Arrested

Mr. Nie Tiemei was arrested by officers from the Tuanjie Police Station on September 14, 2020, for trying to get back his belongings that had been confiscated by Chengnan police officers on July 17. They had taken over 1,800 yuan in paper currency with truth-clarification messages printed on the bills and 12 U-drives.

16. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Stand Trial

Five practitioners in Muling City—Gao Yongli, Gao Pengguang, Sun Shiwei, Shi Ying, and Ms. Cao Shufang—will be tried in the Hailin City Court on October 27, 2020.

Gao Yongli, Gao Pengguang, and Sun Shiwei are being held in the Bamiantong Detention Center. Shi Ying was recently transferred to the Mudanjiang Detention Center from the Hailin Detention Center.

17. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Ya Still Detained

Ms. Li Ya was arrested on May 8, 2019, when she talked to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and took her to the Qilihe District Center around midnight. She was transferred to and remains in the Lanzhou City No.1 Detention Center on May 19, 2019. She was scheduled to appear in the Chengguan District Court on October 15, 2020.
