(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Yang Xiuyun and Ms. Li Yangbo were taken to a detention center by personnel from the Da’an Court in June 2020. They were transferred to the Changchun Women’s Prison in August.
Mr. Zhao Jiyuan from Dadong District was given a seven-year-and-six-month prison term. He is being held in the No. 12 Ward, Jinzhou City Prison.
Ms. Su Xiumin and Ms. Li Qiulian in Antun Township, Linghai City, were arrested at home by officers from the Antun Township Police Station on the afternoon of July 7, 2020. They were taken to the Jinzhou Detention Center. Family visits have not been allowed.
Ms. Tan Jing from Minhang District was scheduled to be tried at the Fengxian District Court on October 12, 2020. She was released on bail for health reasons in August after being held in a detention center for nine months.
Ms. Su Guiyun in Dafangzi Village, Bajiazi Township, Wuchang City, was harassed by officers from the Bajiazi Township Police Station on September 4, 2020. The officers forced her to sign paperwork. When she refused, her daughter-in-law was forced to sign for her.
In early October 2020, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee in the Shenbei New Area ordered police stations and community members to harass Falun Gong practitioners.
Hong Wei, residential police officer from the Daoyi Police Station, and Tang Xiaohui, director of a residential community, went to Mr. Liang Zhihong and his wife Ms. Wu Limei’s home three times. His 80-year-old mother was so terrified that she collapsed.
Mr. Liang was previously sentenced to prison twice for a total of seven years. Ms. Wu was given a five-year-and-six-month prison term.
Mr. Liang Hongwei was reported to the police when he talked to people about Falun Gong. He was followed by officers from the Shuanggang Police Station for more than two weeks. He was arrested in mid-September 2020. His home was ransacked, and all his Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and audio players were confiscated.
He was released the same day. He is still being watched, monitored, and followed. On September 21, a team of officers broke into his home and arrested him. He was taken to a detention center after being interrogated at the police station. He returned home on September 26.
Mr. Zhao Lin in Qiaodong District was arrested by officers from the Wuyilu Police Station on the morning of April 7, 2020. He was held in the Zhangjiakou Detention Center. His lawyer was recently notified by the Qiaoxi District Court that he would be tried at 9:30 a.m. on October 13, 2020.
Mr. Yan Weibin is scheduled to be tried by the Yicheng District Court on October 14, 2020. Family members are not allowed to attend the trial.
Ms. Zou Shuangwu, 71, was arrested by 12 officers from the Jinyinhu Police Station around 8 a.m. on April 18, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center and scheduled to be released on October 17, 2020.
A practitioner who teaches at Kangma Primary School in Zaoqiang Town, Zaoqiang County, was harassed at work by Ma Qingjun (principal of Zaoqiang Town Central Campus), Yang Lisheng (deputy principal), and Yang Weifeng (principal of Kangma Central Primary School) on August 31, 2020.
They tried to “transform” the teacher, demanding he or she sign the three statements to renounce Falun Gong. They videotaped the teacher. The teacher refused to cooperate with the officials. On September 6, Wang Xinmin, director of the Board of Education, located the teacher’s father and asked him to persuade the teacher.
The school hired a retired female teacher to replace the practitioner teacher on September 22. The practitioner was demoted to work with logistics clerks.
Ji Lichun, who is the deputy director of County Education, Culture and Sports Bureau, and Ma tried to “transform” the teacher again on September 24.
Ma and other people again went to the practitioner’s school and delivered a notice on September 28. The notice stated that if he or she did not “break” with Falun Gong by the end of September, the practitioner would be given an administrative penalty, demoted, removed from the teaching position, or even terminated by the school.
Ms. Chen Yan went to the Leifeng Police Station in Wanghua District around 8 a.m. on September 21, 2020, and demanded the release of her daughter, Ms. Cao Yueling.
Ms. Chen was arrested by Tu Gang, head of the Domestic Security Division. She was taken to the Xinbin Detention Center on the afternoon of September 22. She was placed under criminal detention on October 6.
Ms. Zhao Guizhi, who went to Ms. Cao’s home, was also arrested on the same day that Ms. Cao was arrested. She was released that evening. The police searched for her afterwards. They made phone calls to her husband and said they wanted to verify the situation. Ms. Zhao has stayed away from home, and her whereabouts are unknown.
