(Minghui.org) A new coronavirus broke out in Wuhan City, Hubei Province in late 2019. It quickly spread to other parts of the world. Since late January 2020, people in China and more than ten countries in Asia, North America and Europe, have been confirmed to have contracted the virus.
Similar to what happened 17 years ago with the SARS outbreak, the Chinese Communist Party covered up information during the new epidemic. Many experts estimated that the actual infection cases and death toll are much higher than the numbers provided by the Chinese authorities.
With the lockdown of almost the entire Hubei Province and continued tight control and censorship of real information, many Chinese people are now left in a desperate situation.
In this podcast, we hope to provide useful information to you and that you can protect yourself and your family in the face of the epidemic.
Due to the quick spread of the coronavirus, Wuhan authorities announced at 2 a.m. on January 24 that they were locking down the entire city and banning all modes of transportation starting at 10 a.m. that day. A local newspaper reported, “There is still an eight-hour window for people to choose to leave the city if they wish to.”
According to news circulated on WeChat, a popular Chinese social media platform, in the 22 days since the discovery of the virus, many people have flown out of Wuhan, including 43,000 to Haikou, 27,000 to Sanya, 5,600 to Bozhe, 59,000 to Beijing, 70,000 to Shanghai, 49,000 to Guangzhou, 37,000 to Shenzhen, 47,000 to Chengdu, and 22,000 to Chongqing. The data reportedly came from airline companies.
Only two days after the lockdown, thirty provinces in China reported infection cases and declared a “grade 1 public health emergency.” Outside of China, virus patients have also been reported in Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, Japan, the UK, the US, Canada, France and Australia.
The Independent, a prominent UK newspaper, published an article titled “Coronavirus reaches Europe as UK ‘hunts for 2,000 passengers who recently arrived from Wuhan’” on January 24. The report said that UK public health officials have been working with airlines to trace some 2,000 people who had entered the country from Wuhan in the last 14 days. According to the report, “Professor Paul Cosford, medical director at Public Health England, has said it is still 'early days' for the virus but admitted that it is 'highly likely' that cases of the new strain of coronavirus will be seen in the UK, after tests on more than a dozen people.”
Taiwan has confirmed four cases. The government suggested that its citizens do not visit Wuhan or the rest of Hubei Province. Taiwan also announced on January 24 that visitors from China, Hong Kong, and Macao must fill out a health survey at customs. In addition, Taiwan also banned local residents from traveling to China for tourism.
Guan Yi, an expert on viruses at Hong Kong University who helped discover the SARS virus 17 years ago, brought a team to Wuhan on January 21, hoping to help contain the outbreak. He and his team left on January 23, the day before the lockdown. He said he’s very concerned about the Wuhan virus’ spread.
Guan told the Chinese news outlet Caixin, “I think we have passed the golden time of control and prevention. I don’t think the local government has done what it should do. They haven’t even been handing out quarantine guides to people who were leaving the city.”
He warned that the new epidemic could be 10 times worse than SARS. “I've never felt scared. This time I'm scared,” Guan said.
As the new coronavirus can be transmitted from human to human, it’s important that we practice good personal hygiene, such as frequently washing hands and wearing face masks, as a precaution against the deadly disease.
It’s also equally important that we stay calm. There is a Chinese saying that “the appearance stems from the mind.” In the face of the sudden disaster, people tend to become anxious, panicked, angry and desperate. Such are natural feelings and reactions, but they don’t help much under such circumstances. On the contrary, those strong emotions might cloud our judgment and make the situation worse or more difficult.
Nevertheless, staying calm doesn’t mean to give up hope. Our wisdom often emerges when we have a calm mind. It can help us quickly identify solutions and find the way out.
Minghui.org has published numerous stories about people having their health improved and dangers averted by reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.”
Many people said reciting the words can help them calm down and find inner peace. They also felt more positive energy from doing so.
Below is one such story.
The sister-in-law of a Falun Dafa practitioner in Jilin Province was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in July 2019.
The cancer patient is very close to the practitioner. She has understood the facts about Falun Dafa a long time ago and supported the practitioner for upholding her faith despite the ongoing persecution. She also passes on information about Falun Dafa to her colleagues and debunks the propaganda spread by the communist regime.
When the practitioner visited the woman the day before her surgery, she appeared to be desperate. She said she heard that the mortality rate of pancreatic cancer is more than 90%. She was very scared and wanted to cancel the surgery.
The practitioner encouraged her and asked her to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.”
“Many people have experienced miracles in their practicing of Falun Dafa. You should have confidence in it.” the practitioner said.
The surgery lasted for more than six hours. Some parts of her stomach, gallbladder and duodenum were removed. That practitioner stayed in the hospital and also recited “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good” to bring blessings to her sister-in-law.
The surgery went very smoothly. After her sister-in-law went back to her room, this practitioner played Falun Dafa lecture audios to her and told her that listening to the lectures will help her recover.
When the practitioner returned to the hospital on the next day, her sister-in-law had almost finished listening to all nine lectures. She was in a good mood and even the doctor was amazed at how fast she recovered.
Nine days after the surgery, the doctor said the tumor had been completely removed and she was cancer-free now. Everyone felt happy for her.
The past year of 2019 was the year of the pig. During the past year, China was plagued by the African swine virus. Before the year of rat 2020 kicked in, the bubonic plague that was caused by the rat-borne flea was already reported. With that yet to die down, the mysterious coronavirus exploded.
From the perspective of ancient Chinese philosophy, many natural disasters are linked to the degeneration of people’s morality and tyranny of the government.
In fact, since the Communist Party came to power 70 years ago, they have launched one political campaign after another, killing social elites, landowners, students and Falun Dafa practitioners. It was estimated that over 80 million Chinese have died from unnatural causes during such campaigns. More than half of the Chinese population have been persecuted by the Communist Party in one way or another.
Nevertheless, the Communist Party never admits that they did anything wrong, but continues to label themselves as great, glorious and correct.
With the cover-up of SARS 17 years ago, we might never know how many people have died in that disaster. Now with the spread of the new coronavirus, the Communist Party has continued to cover up the information and put the lives of millions of Chinese at risk.
Over 350 million Chinese people have withdrawn their memberships from the Communist Party, which is facing even more backlash as people are coming to realize its tyrannical and killing nature, and questioning the legitimacy of the government.
Only when the chapter of the Communist Party virus is over, can we embrace a new, bright future.
