(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 39 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Ms. Qi Yanjie Detained

Ms. Qi Yanjie from Beiling Village, Wuyi Township, was arrested at the Changchun City Train Station by railway police in late June 2019. She was identified as a Falun Gong practitioner when her ID was scanned at the train station. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Qi was detained for ten days.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Chen Yixin and Ms. Zheng Tianqiong from the Dafeng Neighborhood were arrested by officers from the Chengdu City Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of July 10, 2019. Their homes were ransacked, and Falun Gong books, printers, and computers were confiscated. They were taken to a brainwashing center.

Officers from the Jinniu District Police Department arrived at Mr. Mao Kun’s home on the afternoon of July 10, in two or three large police vehicles. They broke the door down and ransacked the place. Mr. Mao, Ms. Zhang, Ms. Simei from Pi County, and two other practitioners were arrested.

Ms. Guo Lirong was arrested after group Fa-study by officers who were waiting outside her door on July 10. Her home was ransacked.

A practitioner with the last name Ai, from Chengdu City, and Mr. Liu Wei, from the Longquanyi District, were also arrested. Their homes were ransacked.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Zhiqin’s Home Ransacked, Three Other Practitioners Detained

Officers from the Ji County 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and the Wenchang Street Police Station went to Ms. Wang Zhiqin’s home and ransacked the place in June 2019. The officers tried to take Ms. Wang to the police station, but did not succeed.

Ms. Zhang Shumin, 68, from the Hebei District, was arrested by officers from the Xinkaiqiao Police Station on July 8, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Hebei Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Cuihua and Ms. Li Xiuxia were arrested by officers from the Cuipingshan Police Station when they were talking to people about Falun Gong at the Cuipingshan Farmers' Market. They were taken to the Ji Detention Center.

4. [Chaohu City, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Han Yuming, Ms. Jiao Guifang, Ms. Li Wenzhen, and another practitioner with the last name Sun were arrested by officers from the Woniu Police Station on the afternoon of June 10. 2019. A notebook computer, Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, and over 1,000 yuan in cash were confiscated.

Practitioner Sun, 80, was released the following morning. The other three practitioners were taken to the Hefei City Detention Center.

Ms. Li was released on June 26. Ms. Han and Ms. Jiao are is still being detained.

5. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Kaishi Detained, His Wife Arrested

Five officers from the Jiangzhuang Town Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Kaishi’s home in Wangjiachengzi Village on July 9, 2019. They confiscated an MP3 and Falun Gong books. Mr. Wang was not home at the time. His wife, who is not a practitioner, was arrested.

Mr. Wang went to the police station to seek his wife’s release. He was arrested and taken to the Gaomi City Detention Center that evening.

6. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Tan Hui and Ms. Liu Yingpu Arrested

Ms. Tan Hui and Ms. Liu Yingpu were arrested by officers from the Zhaoqing City 610 Office on April 23, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. They were released that evening.

7. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Zhen Changxing, head of the Dianbai District 610 Office, led other officers to break into an elderly practitioner’s home in the Dayaxu area on the morning of June 9, 2019. They ransacked the place, and confiscated around a dozen Falun Gong books.

Ms. Mai Weilian, Ms. Huang Yinglian, and Ms. Cui Fen were arrested. All three were released that evening.

8. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xiao Huiqin Arrested

Ms. Xiao Huiqin from Nanxinzhuang Village, Dongwang Town, was arrested by Niu Zhanjin, Party secretary of Jiangniuzhuang Village, on July 8, 2019. She was later released.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lin Xiuzhen and Ms. Liu Yulian Arrested

Ms. Lin Xiuzhen was arrested on July 6, 2019. She is being held in the Tangshan City Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Yulian, 70, from the Fengrun District, was arrested on the morning of July 9.

10. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xiang Benzi Detained

Mr. Xiang Benzi from Macheng City, Hubei Province, was arrested at the place where he stays in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, by officers from the Wusha Police Station, Chang’an Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong, on the afternoon of June 29, 2019.

Mr. Xiang is being held in the Dongguan No. 2 Detention Center. Family visits have not been allowed.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jianmei and Another Elderly Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Li Jianmei and another elderly practitioner were arrested by plainclothes officers on July 2, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Li is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Zhu Xiuzhen from Hongtoushan Town was reported to the authorities on July 9, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and taken to the Zhangdang Police Station.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Jiyuan and His Wife Ms. Li Xiujie Arrested

Mr. Zhao Jiyuan and his wife Ms. Li Xiujie from the Dadong District were arrested by officers from the Heping Police Department on July 10, 2019. The officers stayed in their home in order to catch other practitioners who came to visit.

14. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhou Yuzhen was arrested in mid-April 2019. She has been on hunger strike in the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.

Ms. Lou Mengli was arrested on June 28, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Jinzhou Lockup Center.

Ms. Wu Xiulan was arrested in early July. She is being held in the Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center.

15. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Elderly Ms. He Julian Sentenced to Prison

Elderly Ms. He Julian was sentenced to a 14-month prison term by Bai Mingying, a judge from the Jintai District Court, on June 11, 2019. She has appealed.

16. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou and Ms. Liu Arrested

Ms. Zhou and Ms. Liu were reported to the police on the afternoon of July 9, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Youyilu Police Station in the Jiaoqu area.

Ms. Zhou lost consciousness for over half an hour in the police station and was taken home after she came to. Ms. Liu remains in police custody.

17. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Dai Qihong Detained

Mr. Dai Qihong was arrested, and is being held in the No. 19 Ward, Mudanjiang City No. 1 Detention Center.
