[Minghui Fa Conference] From a Reader to Working on Minghui

June 07, 2019 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner outside China

(Minghui.org) Greetings Master, and fellow practitioners!

I joined the Minghui team last year. I feel rather honored and thank Master for arranging for me to join this project at the last stage of Fa-rectification.

I began to practice cultivation with my mother, also a practitioner, at a young age. I was busy with studies when I first arrived overseas, and did not have a lot of time to attend group Fa-study, or take part in other Dafa activities. Master’s teachings and the cultivation stories on Minghui radio podcasts helped me through those early years in a foreign environment where I practiced cultivation alone most of the time.

I was able to listen to cultivation stories while at work. I have heard nearly every single podcast on Minghui radio, some of them more than once. Whenever I face a tribulation, or am troubled by an attachment, I would hear a sharing of a similar situation.

A few years ago my visa application was rejected. It was a huge blow, and I felt depressed throughout the day. I cried when I thought of not being able to attend Fa conferences in the future and see Master again. I realized that I had a lot of attachments that I had been holding onto for a long time. Perhaps it was to remind me that I still had other attachments I was not aware of. The next day Master arranged for me to hear a practitioner share a similar experience. It helped me find my other attachments.

On another occasion, I heard a practitioner in China share that she followed the teachings of Dafa in everyday life. As a salesperson in a furniture shop, she told everyone she knew about Falun Dafa. She was the top salesperson every month. I was moved by this sharing.

I was reluctant to find a regular job and only wanted to work on Dafa projects. In my previous job, whenever my boss asked me to work extra hours on weekends, I turned him down as I wanted to participate in Dafa activities. I thought that this is what a Dafa practitioner should do. I considered working overtime as a form of interference.

Soon after I was offered a desirable job, although I was not looking for one. I think this was arranged by Master because I wanted to tell people in mainstream society how wonderful Dafa is. In this new environment, I constantly remind myself to show others the demeanor of a Dafa practitioner, and look for opportunities to let them know about the practice.

At the 2018 Washington D.C Fa conference, Master affirmed practitioners’ efforts concerning their truth clarification projects. For the first time, I became aware of the importance of Minghui and what an honor it is to be involved. Although Minghui has played a huge role in my cultivation, I did not think of getting involved, as I don’t often hear practitioners talk about the project. Besides I was busy with other things.

I then read practitioners’ stories about managing the Minghui website all these years and learned that it has not been an easy path. The major problem is the lack of manpower. I thought if I can help in any way I would love to do so. Not long after I had this wish, the project coordinator asked if I had time to work for Minghui. I was amazed at Master’s arrangement!

My first assignment was to translate greeting messages. During that time, I had to work as a salesperson in the morning, put up posters in the afternoon and because of the volume of work, I had to work late into the night or get up early in the morning. But, I felt very honored. I recalled a practitioner once said that handling so many greetings is as if one has sent so many blessings to Master. As I read these messages of gratitude to Master, my heart felt happy and blessed.

Currently, I have to work most days and have a lot less time for Minghui. But, I hope to continue participating in this project, make contributions, and fulfill my vow to assist Master in the Fa-rectification.
