Mr. Guo Yanda Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison and Denied Visitations

June 23, 2019 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Mr. Guo Yanda, 61, from Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2014. The authorities have not allowed his family to visit him since 2018 because he refuses to renounce his belief in Falun Dafa.

Mr. Guo was arrested at his home by officers from the Dongqiao Police Station in April 2012. They ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, printer, cash, and his car. He was taken to the Yingkou City Detention Center.

The Zhanqian District Court in Yingkou City illegally tried him on February 1, 2013, and later sentenced him to 10 years in prison. His appeal was rejected, and he was transferred to the No. 1 Prison of Shenyang City on May 13, 2014.

Guards told Mr. Guo’s family that they were not allowed to visit him because he was uncooperative with prison work, refused to sign his name, and became more steadfast in his faith after each visit.

One time, his younger sister who lives in Guangdong Province traveled thousands of miles to visit him but was turned away. She was told that it was because Guangdong Province was close to Hong Kong.
