(Minghui.org) I'm an 81-year-old former university teacher. In 1994, I visited a bookstore in China and bought the book Falun Gong. I began to read it as soon as I got home.

I was very moved by the words “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” and by the idea that we should assimilate to these principles in our daily life.

A strong energy current suddenly washed over me—a feeling I had never felt before. That's when I decided to start practicing Falun Gong.

Shortly after that, all of my long-standing illnesses disappeared, including a duodenal ulcer, chronic atrophic gastritis, presbyopia, and astigmatism.

Since then, I have not been ill one day in the past 24 years! Also, I look much younger than my age and my hair is black. Although this is commonplace among Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioners, top scientists from around the world have yet to explain it. Falun Gong truly is a higher science!

When I was still teaching at the university, I played Master Li's nine-day video-lecture series for teachers and students after work. As a result, many of these people picked up the practice.

I followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my daily life and took fame and gain very lightly. When the time came for promotions, instead of fighting and competing for one, I just let things happen naturally. If I was supposed to get a promotion, I did; if I wasn't supposed to get one, I didn't.

In 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, which was being severely persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at that time. I was later arrested and sent to a forced labor camp.

One of the administrators of my university came to visit me there. He asked a guard, “How can you in good conscience lock up such an outstanding person?”

I later met a young college student in the camp, who had just been arrested for selling drugs. I clarified the truth to him and shortly after he agreed to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

He listened to me recite Master Li's Lunyu and then asked, “Can you say each word slowly so that I can write everything down?”

When we were done, he exclaimed, “My view of the world has just completely changed!”

One day, a guard in the labor camp ordered all of the practitioners there to report to a designated area where he proceeded to read a book that slandered and defamed Falun Gong.

I thought to myself, “I can't let him continue sinning against Falun Dafa like this! What should I do?” I began to focus my gaze on his eyebrows, while I silently recited Master's teachings. Shortly after, he stood up and left.

A few weeks later, a young guard called me aside and started saying terrible things about Master Li. I said, “Within 24 hours you will incur retribution for saying such things.”

About five hours later he proudly announced, “See, you were wrong. I am perfectly fine!”

Several hours later, however, he came up to me with a shocked look on his face, saying, “You were right! Now I itch all over!”
