(Minghui.org) I am highly regarded at my workplace. My managers and colleagues think that I am honest and have integrity. My good reputation comes from my cultivation of Falun Dafa, which has taught me to be a good person.
I have practiced Falun Dafa for twenty years. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Dafa, I mailed information to government officials and law enforcement offices to explain what Falun Dafa really is. The CCP traced the letters to me. They stripped me of my position as a top manager at work and put me in a forced labor camp.
When I came back, I was assigned to work as a clerk in the director's office. My salary was reduced by two grades. The Party secretary told people to call me by my name, that my title was no longer “director.”
None of that bothered me. I tried to be a good person according to the teachings of Falun Dafa.
My employer once decided to give out some cash to reimburse medical expenses. My colleagues all looked for ways to get receipts. Although I was in a tough financial situation, I decided that I should not produce fake receipts for reimbursement.
After the earthquake in 2008, my employer was given money to rebuild the offices. All the office furniture, including curtains, lamps, tables, chairs, and cabinets, were replaced. Other employees took the old furniture home, but I didn't take anything.
My employer organizes two big training events every year. I was in charge of buying the supplies. I never used that opportunity to buy myself something. Stores asked me how much to write on the receipt. (It's common practice in China to write a higher amount on the receipt so that the purchaser can pocket the difference). I told them to write the exact amount. They were surprised.
“I practice Falun Dafa,” I told them. “My master [Li Hongzhi] teaches one to be a good person and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I can't take money that I didn't earn.”
“It's hard to find good people like you these days. Your master is great! Falun Dafa is great!”
I was in charge of the official stamp. Once my manager assigned the stamp to another person. But she brought it back to me not long after. She said, “That person traded use of the stamp for money and goods. I trust your Falun Dafa practitioners: no corruption and no taking advantage of the workplace.”
Once our workplace received dozens of umbrellas, one for each employee. But one was broken. I was responsible for distributing them. I kept the bad one for myself and gave out all the good ones. I didn't tell anyone about it.
The director once told the office manager to buy a flower basket and a big cake and to order a big luncheon to celebrate my birthday. I went to the office manager, “My birthday has passed already. Please don't spend money on me.”
“Auntie, this is the first time we've ever done this at work,” the manager told me. “The director thinks that you are such a good person and do the work of three people by yourself without a single word of complaint. They want to reward you!”
My managers and colleagues stopped attempts by the 610 Office to harass me several times. My colleagues nominated me for the Excellence award several times.
I worked under several different directors through the years. They all went to their superiors to request a raise for me. Although they were all turned down (the CCP restricted my benefits as part of its persecution of Falun Dafa), I still appreciate them.
Before I retired, I helped all my managers and colleagues quit the CCP. Since they respect me, they like to hear me talk about Falun Dafa. I also talked to five new employees who came after I retired and helped them to quit the CCP.
I know my good reputation comes from Master and Dafa!
