(Minghui.org) A Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province woman was targeted during a police sweep in November 2018 for her faith in Falun Gong. She is now facing further prosecution after her arrest was approved by the procuratorate.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Liu Yanxia was seized by a group of officers hiding outside her apartment as she returned home on the evening of November 9, 2018.

Another 118 Falun Gong practitioners in both Daqing and Harbin (capital city of Heilongjiang Province) were arrested on the same day.

The police broke into Ms. Liu's home, searched it, and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other materials. Ms. Liu was taken into custody that evening.

The police returned three weeks later and called a locksmith to open her door. Staff members from Daqing Procuratorate videotaped her residence and approved her arrest soon afterwards.

Ms. Liu was later released on bail for a year. She is required to report back to the police whenever she is summoned.

In addition to Ms. Liu, another nine practitioners in Daqing also had their arrests approved by the procuratorate. They are: Ren Yuhong, Lu Guanru, Liu Enquan, Li Mingxiu, Qu Yanlai, Wu Yanhua, Guan Xingtao, Du Yecheng, and Liu Enxi.
