(Minghui.org) Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline with the core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance and five sets of slow-moving exercises. With its tremendous health benefits, the practice spread quickly throughout China after its public introduction in May 1992.
It was estimated that between 70 to 100 million Chinese were practicing Falun Gong by 1999. Such enormous popularity and Falun Gong’s revival of traditional culture – that the Chinese communist regime has been working tirelessly to destroy – eventually triggered the nationwide persecution in July 1999.
Within the past 20 years, 4,363 Falun Gong practitioners are confirmed to have died as a direct result of the persecution. These practitioners come from all walks of life, across all age groups. Some practitioners were tortured to death while in police custody, some died after years of torture or from diseases contracted in prisons or labor camps, and others died from the immense fear and mental pressure that was imposed upon them over the course of the persecution.
In this article, we spotlight 15 cases of doctors who were persecuted to death because of their faith.

They continued torturing him until 1 a.m., when they found that his heart had stopped beating. By the time the emergency vehicle was called in, he had already died. He was 34.

An autopsy was conducted under the family’s request. It showed that his head had three holes made by a blunt instrument, his legs and ribs had fractures and blood was found in his lung. According to medical analysis, the three holes in his head were the cause of his death.
After Mr. Liu was killed, his mother was sent to the No. 3 Detention Center in Changcun City. She was also persecuted to death on November 11, 2005.
Mr. Wang Jiping was an anesthetist in a military hospital in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. He began practicing Falun Gong in September 1996.
