Registration Open for New Tang Dynasty Television's 7th International Chinese Vocal Competition

(Minghui.org) New Tang Dynasty Television (NTD) has announced that its 7th International Chinese Vocal Competition will take place in New York City on November 8-10. They have begun accepting registrations.

Based on its website, this year's competition is solely for the bel canto style of singing. The aim of the competition is to promote traditional vocal arts of pure authenticity, pure goodness, and pure beauty, and provide a world-class arena for all Chinese vocalists to showcase their talents.

This year's competition has invited vocalists from the world-renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts to serve on its panel of judges. One of them is tenor Guimin Guan, who is one of China’s most celebrated tenors of recent decades. He is well-known in China and is also one of the first artists to be named a “National First-Class Performer” by China’s Ministry of Culture.

This competition is open to professional singers in China and those with Chinese heritage. For well-established singers, this is an opportunity to learn from world-renowned vocalists, improve further, and step onto the center of the world stage. For the novice vocalist, this could to be a door to demonstrate one's talent on an international stage; for conservatory students or professional-level artists, this is a chance to get feedback and comments from world-renowned Shen Yun artists.

The age requirement is 18 to 50. After the panel of judges has reviewed all of the applications, a formal “NTD Television International Chinese Vocal Competition Invitation” will be sent to those who meet the criteria. The contestants may use this invitation to apply for visas and report to the competition.

The musical selections include operatic arias and art songs. The competition is divided into preliminaries, semi-finals, and finals. Gold award (one) is $10,000, silver award (one) is $3,000, and bronze award (two) is $1,000. There will also be an Honorable Mention Award.

Registration fee is $120.

Registration is open until November 3, 2018. Please submit all required materials to the competition committee by October 25.
