Additional Persecution News from China – June 9, 2018 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 were illegally arrested.

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Thirteen Practitioners Arrested

Thirteen practitioners were arrested by officers from the Xiguan Police Station, Gaomi City, on June 5, 2018. They are: Ms. Ju Zongmei, Mr. Li Yulin, Ms. Cao, Ms. Chen Xiuzhen, Ms. Zhang Xiujuan, Mr. Sun Yu, Mr. Zan Ruilian, Mr. Cao Jiuzhou, Ms. Xu Xiuying, Ms. Chan Shuli, Ms. Tang Meigui (in her 80s), Ms. Luan Zhiying (in her 70s), and another practitioner.

Ms. Chen Xiuzhen, Ms. Xu Xiuying, Ms. Ju Zongmei, Mr. Su Yu, Mr. Cao Jiuzhou, and Ms. Zan Ruiying have been released.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yuan Xuefen and Mr. Wen Juping Placed Under Criminal Detention

Ms. Yuan Xuefen and Mr. Wen Juping from Longquanyi District were arrested by officers from the Luodai Police Station for removing posters that slandered Falun Gong, and posting Falun Gong informational materials on the evening of May 21, 2018. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners were placed under criminal detention at the Chengdu City Detention Center.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Kong Deyuan Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Kong Deyuan from Nankai District was arrested at home by officers from the Zhongbei Police Station, Xiqing District, and the 610 Office on April 10, 2018. Her home was ransacked. She was officially placed under arrest at the Xiqing Detention Center.

4. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Cui Yumei Detained

Ms. Cui Yumei from Xiangcheng City was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on May 24, 2018 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was taken to the Zhoukou City Detention Center.

5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yuan Qiongxiu Arrested

Ms. Yuan Qiongxiu from Nanxing Street was arrested on the afternoon of June 6, 2018. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, Falun Gong books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Di Xifen and Sister Ms. Di Huanru Arrested

Ms. Di Xifen and her younger sister Ms. Di Huanru, from Liquan Village, Nandiantou Township, Tang County, were arrested by officers from the Tang County Domestic Security Division for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Nandiantou Village farmers market on the morning of June 8, 2018. They were taken to the Tang County Police Department.

7. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Feng Ling Detained

Ms. Feng Ling, about 50, from Zhengjiazhuangzi Village, Shiqiaozi Town, was arrested by officers from the Shibuzi Police Station on May 22, 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Shibuzi Township farmers market. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Weifang Detention Center.

8. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shu Tan Sentenced to an Eight-year Prison Term

Ms. Shu Tan was tried by the Cuiping District Court on the morning of May 17, 2018. She was sentenced to eight years in prison. She was taken to the Longquanyi Women's Prison on June 6.

9. [Xiahe County, Gansu Province] Mr. Qu Tao Detained and Brother Mr. Qu Yuan Missing

Mr. Qu Tao was arrested in August 2008, and taken to the Lanzhou Detention Center. His brother Mr. Qu Yuan has gone missing since September 2017.

10. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Yuan Qingmei Detained

Ms. Yuan Qingmei was recently arrested and taken to the Hui County Detention Center.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Meng Zhaoying and Ms. Zhou Sulian Arrested

Ms. Meng Zhaoying and Ms. Zhou Sulian from Yushu City were reported and arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of June 7, 2018.

12. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xiu Defang and Ms. Lu Hongxin Detained

Ms. Xiu Defang and Ms. Lu Hongxin, from Liangguojishang Village, Zhuqiao Town, Laizhou City, were arrested and their homes ransacked by officers from the Laizhou Domestic Security Division and the Zhuqiao Police Department on the morning of June 4, 2018. They were taken to the Laizhou Detention Center.

Ms. Fan Guixia was arrested at home by officers from the Silicun Police Station, Shizhong District, on the morning of May 30, 2018. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Zhonggong Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

14. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Chunyan Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Li Chunyan was arrested and taken to a detention center by officers from the Tiexi Police Station on May 6, 2018. She was officially placed under arrest by the Nanshan District Procuratorate on May 17. She has been detained for over a month.

Ms. Lin Jieping, Gangkou Village, Yuhu Town, was given a four-year-and-six-month prison term and fined 20,000 yuan. She has appealed the sentence.

16. [Dengkou County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Yanchun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yanchun was recently reported and arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.
