(Minghui.org) A woman serving time for her faith has become malnourished after being forced to stay in a constant state of hunger.

Ms. Ji Jie, in her 60s, was a teacher at Yangqiao Middle School in Linquan County. She was arrested on April 5, 2015 for distributing materials exposing the Chinese communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Ms. Ji was later sent to Anhui Province Womens' Prison, though her exact jail term remains to be investigated.

The prison guards forced Ms. Ji to do hard labor without pay. They also instigated criminal inmates to beat her by promising them with term reductions. Ms. Ji's teeth became loose due to beatings, but she was given only 20 minutes for each meal. She was never able to finish her food.

Ms. Ji was prohibited from purchasing additional food with her commissary account. As a result, she was always hungry.

Her family is considering filing a complaint against the prison.
